While driving on a long trip, a burning smell was noticed. The heated seats had not been turned on, as they are rarely used & the indicator light for the heated seats was not on. When the driver stopped to inspect, the back of the seat had burned through the lumbar support pillow. The seat is severely charred and damaged through the inner foam layer of the seat. The seat will need to be replaced. The driver could have been seriously injured if the seat had caught fire. Jeep was notified, but expressed absolutely no concern & offered no assistance. An online review revealed that this is a known problem for Chrysler/Jeep (in particular Jeep Liberty) and there have been severe injuries. How many instances must occur before a safety recall occurs? we had no idea that this safety concern existed prior to our own experience.

My engine and the entire electrical stop while driving, every system stopped while driving in the middle of the road. This vehicle has had many issues from defective drivers seats, oil leaks, windows not working, seat belt malfunctions, recalls, head rest issues, leaks from who know where the dealer had it time and time again misdiagnosed it several times, it was in the Jeep dealer and did not even make it out of the parking lot went it stopped again. All warning lights went on waring for several problems it is now stuck in my home. This Jeep is as fca knows a lemon these problems go back years even when I bought it , it has never ever worked or operated properly or safely. Needs to be all recalled and refund all my monies.
For the 4th time now my Jeep drivers seat had a sharp metal device poke thru the seat and injury my leg, this is a serious defect. I have taken this back now 4 times for new seats, motors, etc. Yet after a time it continues break and injury the driver. Seat motor will move on its own. Chrysler/Jeep has been aware of this issue causing injury and defective seats for several years as this is now the 4 time on the same issue, yesterday the dealership said " when will Jeep figure it out the seats are defective".
The drivers seat caught on fire and burned my daughter. Fiat Chrysler Jeep has not responded to our communications. My daughter was burned by a fire due to a defect in a fiat Chrysler automobiles fca us Jeep. The vehicle is a Jeep Liberty limited. Chrysler Jeep has refused to return my phone calls and has left the vehicle in an unsafe, dangerous situation. Fiat Chrysler automobiles fca us Jeep also made a fraudulent claim that is a cover up for the defect that caused the fire. Please help us and any other potential Jeep victim that may be at risk due to this unsafe vehicle defect. Fiat Chrysler Jeep has been heartless and unkind in escalating this issue. Their employees have stated that the company does not have internal escalation procedures for safety and they have refused to escalate the matter to senior management. Fca has left the vehicle in an unsafe condition for way too long.

Important this is translated from spanish to english in google translator. My reason for my complaint is, to help me with the problem I have, really do not know if this merchant exists or is something ghost. I have tried to communicate with the seller and with the local dealer but it is impossible no answer, as the place is far to go, I have not yet had the opportunity to go to the local. For this reason I think I am a victim of fraud. I have also tried to communicate with them using barios phone number, but it is impossible not answer. Saturday 22 October 2016 I was cleaning the SUV when I realize that the passenger seat lacks a turnillo and safety belts of defects are removed. I quickly call the seller but not answered. That same day I informed my mechanic avia come to my house, told my SUV has a water leak and burned in the muffler, when my check mechanic tells me is not water is oil, again I contact the seller and I sent him a text message and does not answer me, my mechanic informs me, the trader can not sell tire truck with bad quality, my SUV the tire are worn, not really sap that information. Until today I call and leave a text message to the seller but he does not answer when I call the merchant I end the call. For this reason I think I am a victim of fraud. Please ask for help because now I have no car and not think it's sure I use the SUV in these conditions, another thing I want to add on the water leak, the reality is that the radiator is broken, the seller lied to me deceived me, the me I swindled. That day when I got home it was night, I when I get home check the part of the front of the SUV, the part where the engine is, the water reservoir had no water, for me that was strange and contact the seller, I told the salesman that the water reservoir had no water, the seller told me that was normal.

It not reverse or shifting into gear.
While driving to work, the passenger heated seat caught fire. The Jeep grand cherokee already has a recall for this same problem under NHTSA campaign # 09v117000. I contacted Jeep in an effort to get them to expand their recall and they basically told me they couldn't do anything. Please, assist me in investigating this problem and having the company fix this problem. I'm guessing the grand cherokee, which is more luxurious, has many more vehicles with heated seats than the Liberty thus more complaints. Having said that, just because there are fewer vehicles with the problem doesn't mean the vehicle is any less hazardous than the cherokee.
Driver side heated seat got so hot it melted something inside the seat and causing a burn on leather and right side of drivers butt , leaving blisters from the burn. This all happened while driving in the snow storm 2 weeks ago.
The contact owns a 2012 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the covers of the seat adjuster levers on both the front driver and passenger side seats fell off. The dealer replaced the covers, but the failure recurred three times. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure was not remedied. The failure mileage was 30,721.
I want to complain about not being able to get the recall on the passenger side air bag fixed. I was told by adam samuals Chrysler in aransas pass, texas, that the part is no longer available?????? so, I "did" have the "rear structure reinforcement" done already. And it was at that time that they told me that the part for the air bag recall was unavailable on the 2003 Jeep I have. Obsurd! I also had a problem with my driver seat assembly. I cannot make the back of my seat go up or down, which, depending on who drives the Jeep, is now a problem. The cost to replace the seat assembly, with labor, is about $500. 00! obsurd! can you help me? I have taken such excellent care of my Jeep since purchasing it in 2005, used, at don johnson motors in brownsville, texas. I have replace most small parts when needed and have my oil changes done every 3,000 miles. I cannot afford a newer vehicle at this, or in the near future for that matter either. I must keep what I have in excellent working order. Please help me with my problem.

The contact stated he had attempted to set a recall appointment with a dealer but the dealer was not cooperating. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The heating element in the front passenger heated seat has started to burn through the seat. I brought the vehicle to the dealership and because the car is beyond the 3 yr/36,000 miles warranty, Chrysler will not cover the repair. I am concerned that someone could be burned or that the seat could catch fire because of this issue and believe it is enough of a safety concern to file a complaint.
Hit from behind. The drivers seat held up well, but the force of the impact froced my legs backward off of the firewall controls and my legs were up against the seat when the vehicle came to a stop. My lower legs at the calves were crushed and this led to severe bleeding contained in the legs (compartment syndrome). No fractures but emergency surgery was needed. After reviewing photos of the vehicle interior today, it is apparent that my calves hit the seat adjustment bar that sticks out under and forward of the padded portion of the seat. I find this a common placement of the seat adjustment bar in many vehicles. If not for this bar I would be back to work this week and no significant medical bills. Overall the seat comformed well to me and did not cause me to fracture my neck (severe osteoporosis and prior neck fusion).

The contact owns a 2012 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle and attempting to accelerate, a sharp metal instrument pierced through the seat and stabbed him in the left leg. The manufacturer was notified and confirmed that the failure was a common problem with newer Jeep models. I was sitting in my car pulling it out of garage when a sharp metal bar pushed up thru the drivers seat, injuring left leg. I reported it to Chrysler and one dealer who services my car santa maria Jeep, who has the pictures. They failed to respond, I notified Chrysler hq, was given several misleading stories on what to do. They said they are sending a vehicle engineer to my home to exam and photo the problem, his name is dale brown 805-534-0576, he called and then refused to come and exam the vehicle, wanting me to drive it 30 miles to a dealer. So he could see it there. He only lives down the road from my home so, why make me drive an unsafe, defective dangerous vehicle? I am a disabled veteran and he still refused. Chrysler also refused to do anything, they called yesterday admitting they knew of the defects and that I should not report this to any regulatory agency since they will in 5 or so days try to figure out what to do ??? I was told by two Chrysler employees they do not want a file or complaint on this issue since it could cause a national recall and cause panic in the public not to buy or drive Jeep's and as of today they have not done anything to assist. They seem more interested in concealing the defects and not helping the injured party or fixing the defect. This is a very dangerous defect and had I been on the freeway it could have been fatal or worse than it is now. I believe this is a very serious defect and Chrysler knows it and is hiding it. Updated 08/29/lj updated 09/04/2012.
A piece fell from under the seat which makes the seat feel loose. The side control panel for moving the seat back and forth does not give full control of adjusting the seat. The key less remote will not lock and unlock my doors. I have to use manual locks. I took it to be looked at, I was advised ground wires were crossing and blowing out a fuse/relay. The mophar skyliner sunroof is off track. There is a manufacturer defect in the sunroof. Chrysler has not issued a recall yet several Jeeps are having and have had this issue. It is $300 for a new roof which will break/go off track within 2 years. Or $6000 to repair the roof I have which still does not guarantee it will break/go off track again. The roof opens on it's own while I am driving causing exposure to outside weather. I have read from other customers that the roof has flown off while driving which can cause injuries to the passengers in vehicle and/or driving around the vehicle.
Rear brackets holding the seat to the power adjuster has failed. You can tip seat forward and when emergency breaking is needed seat shifts moderately forward. This is a hazard to me as the driver.
The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the Smart key that regulated the driver seat failed. The key was uses to move the driver seat in place to accommodate the driver. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on numerous occasions but the failure persisted. The dealer tested the keys by removing the chip and replacing it with a new chip but to no avail. The manufacturer was contacted who stated that they had spoken with the dealer and they were unable to repair the failure. They offered no further assistance. The failure mileage was 36,135.

I have had my windows fall and not go back up 5 different times since I have owned my 2007 Jeep Liberty,Nov 2007. Every time I take it in and get it fixed the dealer says they hope this time will be the last. One time when the left rear window fell the door would not open because of the pressure from the broken window motor. This is very dangerous since the window will not stay up. This is a safety issue. I also have several stains on my stain resistant seats from water, rain and bottled water which is not dirty.
Window regulators on my Jeep Liberty repeatedly failing. I've had to have the regulators repaired five times on a 2007 vehicle. Windows fall down while driving in the vehicle and won't roll back up. I've contacted local dealers and they are also frustrated and said Jeep won't recall the vehicles and create a permanent fix. I also contacted Chrysler corporation and they were not helpful to me -- they shifted focus to the dealer. Also, like the other post, my car had water on the seat and it created a permanent brown stain. It was bottled water. The seats are supposed to be stain resistant and they are not. Chrysler is not standing behind their products, the seats and the window regulators are defective!.
The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty 4x4. Whenever water spills on the cloth seats of the vehicle, it leaves a stain. The seats smell of urine and feces. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. The failure mileage was 11,000.
Water mark discoloration on the cloth seats of the 2008 Jeep Liberty. Any form of condensation, sweat or even rain water will cause these seats to stain. Stains remain even after the seats have dried.
