36 Seats problem of the 2007 Jeep Liberty

Failure Date: 10/09/2007

2007 Jeep Liberty all motors in the windows are faulty. Have conducted research in online forums and have concluded that most consumers of 2001-2007 Jeep Liberty's are having same issues with power window failure. Most issues are fixed during warranty, and continue to occur until long after warranty expires. Also** the seats on 2003-2007 Jeep Liberty's are reported as being stain resistant. Something within the seat fabric causes the seats to stain with a brownish color after any liquid substance hits them. Have ran a test on my own vehicle with filtered tap water and brown stain still continued to appear. Addressed daimler Chrysler about issue and was told that it was "bad rain in my area". I do not believe that every state in this country has bad rain problems and in any case rain should not cause a stain on the upholstery of a 20,000+ dollar vehicle. I believe that a lawsuit should be filed against daimler Chrysler demanding a recall on all seats and power windows with a fix to the solution or should have to reimburse every single customer all the money they have spent over the years trying to fix these re-occurring issues. Thank you for your help. Sincerely, sgt nathan cossey united states marine corps.

37 Seats problem of the 2003 Jeep Liberty

Failure Date: 07/01/2007

3 of the 4 driver side seat mounting brackets broke where the seat mounts to the floor. This is dangerous and I fear that driver's seat will come completely unattached from floor of vehicle in an accident, sudden stop or very soon! many others seem to have these exact same problems with seat mounting brackets. Jeep, Chrysler nor dealers will help with these problems! interior lights come on by themselves unexpectedly and sometimes will not shut off when attempts are made to switch them off. Light switch control seems sporadic and defective. I fear a short circuit resulting in electrical fire from defective light switch control.

38 Seats problem of the 2006 Jeep Liberty

Failure Date: 06/15/2007

2006 Jeep Liberty seat fabric stains very easily -- water stains. No apparent way to clean it and keep it clean. Also 3 out of 4 window regulators have been replaced.

39 Seats problem of the 2007 Jeep Liberty

Failure Date: 06/01/2007

Water stains on the seats. Dealership has had the vehicle 4 times. The last time they had the seats steam cleaned and ruined the fabric. Water stains are still appearing on the seats.

40 Seats problem of the 2007 Jeep Liberty

Failure Date: 05/01/2007

I don't have a safety complaint. This is about water stains on the seats. I own a 2007 Jeep Liberty and I have spoke with the company and the dealer, and now I have notified the better business bureau and the attorney general's office. The water stains on the seats have brought down the value of the car. I was told how to clean them, and even had a dealer clean them for me. And now they are worse then ever. I have been told that this is not a manufacturer's defect, but that cannot be at all true. The car is 4 months old, and on the inside looks 10 years old. Water does not stain or rather never in any of my other cars. It does not take a genius to figure this out. The company is in major denial about this. I have done research on other websites and have discovered numerous letters about this same problem. So, if this is not a defect, then what is it? a fluke? I hardly think so. The company needs to stand by the warranty and fix this problem for their customers.

41 Seats problem of the 2006 Jeep Liberty

Failure Date: 05/31/2006

The fabric of all of the seats in my Jeep stain extremely easily. Even water stains the seats beyond repair. You can imagine how difficult this is living in new orleans where it rains often. I have had the seats professionally cleaned 5+ times and I work very hard to keep them clean, but still nothing helps. They are now discolored and have a foul smell from just the water droplets alone. I have a couple friends that also have this make and model of vehicle and they all have the same problem. Something is wrong with the integrity of the seat fabric. Something should be done about this. This flaw reduces the value of my car and gives a bad reputation to the Jeep name, as well as underplays the quality that is normally assumed when purchasing a Jeep vehicle. This is not a problem that is occurring due to the misuse of the seat or lack of trying to preserve their integrity. I have had this problem since the day I purchased the vehicle brand new. It was only after seeing many other owners filing with the same complaint, I decided to speak up so that something can be done to rectify the situation. If there is anything I can do to fix my seats, I open to suggestions because every cleaning product/ service I have tried has failed. My seats (once beige/grey colored) are now brown in patches, slightly misformed on the seats, and retaining an unpleasant odor (im assuming from the fabric soaking up and retaining any fluid that touches it). Also, not just fluids stain the seats (while that is my main concern). Anything that can leave a mark on a seat, does so and it is permanent no matter what I try. This includes, but is not limited to, foods, pencil marks, dye from clothes (yes it somehow gets rubbed onto the seats while sitting and the fabric retains it, which I have never seen happen in any other car before), deodorant and/or car sprays for improving scent.

During an auto accident where I was side swiped on the driver's side, the 3/4 seat on the passengers side unlatched and folded down.
