Four problems related to transmission noise have been reported for the 2011 Jeep Patriot. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Driving along and lose of power in the transmission. Got it parked and now it wont go. Didnt have a loud noise or any warning. It just wouldnt go.
I own a 2011 Jeep Patriot and the transmission has already gone out! it happened immediately. No warning, nothing. I was driving on the freeway and heard a loud winding noise. I could not accelerate at all. I pulled off the freeway and turned the car off. When I turned the car back on I was able to accelerate, but for only a mile or so. Then no acceleration and I could not reverse. The car has 160k miles.
Transmission overheat light, decrease speed on highway& noise. This is 4 th time this summer. Steamed on side of highway again this summer until turned off and cool down.
Started making whirring noise, lost power and transmission overheat light came on. Had to pull over on highway at night.
