Two problems related to wiring have been reported for the 2014 Jeep Patriot. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving on city street the dash lights came on and off then car stalled. Restarted but had to keep rpms low and dash lights never came back on. Diagnostic said electronic throttle control was problem. When mechanic removed parts we saw there had been a electric short in wiring that caused several wires to burn and fail. $900 repair. 50 k miles on car.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated that while parked, the vehicle caught fire. The fire department was notified and the fire marshall stated that the fire was due to faulty wiring. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 14,500.
