I have to protest to call stability control to be safe device. In over 120 000 miles on the tiers I replaced if remember right: 6 sets of breaks sets, 5 new new rotors, 2 calipers breaks assemble, front house breaks line. Driving on the straight highway the vehicle soddenly engage the breaks at random. Some time making me see sick. I remember driving 60 miles an hour the brakes engage nearly pushed me in to another car. Recently travel to mouton regain. The breaks slowing me down. For no know cause. I noticed danger pater too. When I make a turn in the winding road, the car is getting extremely dangers. The car braking down when I intend to accelerate. This collision of interest resulting my transmission is down steps good, the rpm go to extreme. First from 1,500 race to 2000 then 3000 then 5000 slowing down the car. When finely breaks are released it kick like a mule trying to force me of the route. Don't know way any one need that tip of traction control?. This is my second vehicle in the row, that have computer problem to. Random action on in and out components. The last one doge acclaim forced to trade in because computer replacement did not solved problem, I tested abs breaks on slow speed. It was only a test 10 mils an hour. I end up I ditch. It was a winter snow. Only a test, miner damage to plastic fender. Is it passable to return to regular breaks, that work. The engine control unit prohibit that action sanction by state inspection. ( no inspection can be pass when warning light is on). Can any way I can get replacement for: generic computer? generic breaks system? maybe I can get waive for installation of that system? I am a industrial mechanic by trade and passion. Can easy wired any components I need. Robert filipkowski robert288@hotmail. Com.

Was driving the vehicle about 55 miles an hour, when it suddenly lost power. Was able to safely pull over, restart, and continue to my location after a few minutes. When researching the issue it was discovered that the 2016 Jeep Patriot has a recall with the crankshaft or camshaft sensor may only work intermittently, causing the engine to stall. If the engine stalls, there is an increased the risk of a crash. NHTSA campaign number: 16v907000 the dates for that recall are may 9, 2016, to July 15, 2016. The vehicle in question was manufactured in 12/15, which is not included. Called a local dealer, but had no faith that the issue was going to be easily discoverable and or fixed after informing them of the issue. Went to another company who ran a diagnostics service. Immediately finding issues with the camshaft sensor & crankshaft sensor. Had the vehicle repaired and back within two days. Believe the current recall should also include my vehicle manufactured date, because it has the exact same issues.

Driving on a city street going 45mph when randomly car acceleration just dropped down to about 25mph. Can't accelerate car feels like is barely got any acceleration power. Esc and etc lights turn on.
Vehicle stalled and lurched upon acceraling from a traffic red light. The electric throttle light appeared on dashboard. Purchased with loan four days ago. Initially same thing occurred with high rpm as well. No warning light came on at first. Fifth day of driving this revealed the warning light on dashboard. Dealer indicated recall fixed prior to sale. Vehicle warning light still appears. Rpms too high on acceleration. Repair shop indicated the recall did not fix issue and needs to have Jeep dealer check it.
While driving in heavy traffic, the vehicle suddenly shut off, the steering locked and I was extremely luckily. Immediately after, absolutely nothing happened when turning the key. Also no horn, no lights . . . Nothing. A similar thing happened 2 years ago and the Jeep dealer stated it was a computer issue.
Multiple warning lights indicate the vehicle routinely lost contact with anti-lock brake module, wheel distance, and speed while both stationary and in motion.
I was driving on a street in a residential area and my Jeep started to jerk all of a sudden. I was no longer able to accelerate. This started happening in may and the last time is happened was June 22 2020. Jeep needs to put out a recall ASAP!.
2015 Jeep Patriot has stalled, lost power, and shut down on me multiple times while driving. The vehicle remained in motion on the street and highway.
The vehicle randomly started dropping to 0 rpm during different speeds and situations (some 30mph, some 60mph, some turning, some going straight, but never stalled while stopped) on and off for a week with no check engine light or fault codes present. Driving on the freeway 8 months pregnant going 65mph the Jeep stalled out and then the check engine light came on. It showed up as a crankshaft sensor fault, we replaced the crankshaft sensor and now it is stuck in tip start mode and will not start! this is the 3rd brand sensor that has been tried. This is very similar to the 2016 recall issue (safety recall s89 / NHTSA 16v-907 crankshaft camshaft sensor wire harness) there have been numerous safety complaints about the 2015 Jeep Patriot having reoccurring similar issues and nothing has been done. This is a 1 owner purchased brand new vehicle that has been cared for properly and has had more issues than a 5 year old vehicle should. Stalling out at 65mph on the freeway while 8 months pregnant could of killed me and my unborn child. This issue needs to be addressed before it's too late.
I had all the issues that was stated in the recalls but my VIN number wasnt part of recall I am on my thrid motor replaced and electrical still isnt working properly I purchased brand new 2014 and within first year needed new engine when ifiled complaint nothing was done by Jeep or dealer, just replaced the engin last month now the alternator needs replacing and transmission blew yesterday all of these issues happened while I was driving.
While driving, loss of power. Was driving 60 mph, lost power and car would not accelerate, but rpms would hit 6k. Had to change altenator. With brand new altenator I got 90 miles . Then car would only hit 20 mph , and rpms would hit 6k with no acceleration. Pull over and sit 5 minutes then car would accelerate normal. But the problem happens everytime I start car and go to drive. Have read that the has been an ecu and other issues and recalls for it with many others complaining. I was on highway. There seems to be an issue with the radio as it with the vehicle turned off and no key in ignition, the stereo makes noise like it's trying to work. Feel veryvunsage and it seems to be a manufacturing issue as the vehicle only has 90k miles .

My vehicle stalls when you push the gas pedal, you have to turn the vehicle off and restart it ,it will also completely stall going down the road going anywhere between 20 to 45 miles per hour.
I was on my way to take my son to school, when while on a busy city street my car started to jerk, and suddenly I was no longer to acceralate. I was literally scared for my life and my child, as the speed of my car slowed down so fast, that I almost got rearended. When my car slowed down and could no longer acceralate, my check engine, electric throttle control, and traction control lights all came on. It was very odd as this has never happened before. I read and seen that there are hundreds of people having this same issue. This is very concerning. I'm surprised that no one has been killed due to this, I could not imagine if I was the highway behind a big rig and my speed quickly dropped like that or if someone was riding my tail, there is no way they would have been able to slow down quick enough to prevent from hitting me. I seen that people with Jeeps have been having this issue, regardless of the year of the Patriot. There needs to be a recall on this part.
My car was in motion and I lost power while merging onto the highway and I was unable to get the car started back up. I got the car towed and when it arrived at the mechanic it started back up just fine, they were unable to duplicate the issue as no error message was on my dashboard, therefore their diagnostic device could not figure out what caused my car to stall. The mechanic kept my car for a while and it finally gave out on them again and they discovered by throttle body had gone out. I had this issue in may of 2017 and had it fixed at a Jeep dealership and less than 3 years later my car has the very same issue.
Everytime I push the pedal to speed the car stall very bad causing to slow or almost stop . Very danger situation. Always happen when going to a highway or anywhere I m trying to increase speed.
Traveling 40 mph engine misfires check engine, throttle body, and traction warning lights on. Vehicle will not accelerate. Turn off engine resets throttle body and traction control warning lights check engine light remains on vehicle accelerates normally. Check engine code = u0401 invalid data received from engine control module/powertrain control module a. 84,000 miles.
A few months ago my vehicle started to randomly stall and jerk. We thought nothing of it. Then a few weeks ago my engine light came on and a warning that something was wrong with the fuel cap. A few days later all of that stopped coming on. Yesterday as I was pulling out of my neighborhood several lights came on for the stability control and the electrical throttle light came on as well. I was going up a hill and my vehicle barely made it up the hill. I got back to my driveway turned it off and tried again and it was the same issue. I've made an appointment at the dealership to find out the problem, but this came out of no where. I haven't tried to drive the vehicle for safety reasons.

My car doesn't accelerate like it should and getting on the highway or trying to speed up on highway, the car stalls and doesn't want to go. The rpm doesn't go anywhere and the car jerks a lot. It happening more everyday than before when it would only happen ever so often.
My car just stopped working in the middle of the highway while driving 55 mph!!. It just died. Luckily 3 strangers pushed me to safety. It started working soon afterward only to get stuck in the middle of the road again. It was towed to my mechanic and diagnosed that the crankpostition sensor is bad. It is recalled on other 2016 Jeep Patriots but not covered on this one. It was manufactured before the recall. I hope you will consider including this car under the recall. My daughter was driving the car and she could have been seriously injured. The abrupt stopping of this vehicle on a highway is a serious safety hazard. I am so thankful that she was not injured but it could have been so much worse. We had no idea what was wrong with the car and am upset to know that this faulty sensor caused this to happen. It should be recalled to prevent possible injury to others.
When driving over 30-35 mph the vehical struggles to accelerate and down shifts itself to lower geers not allowing the vehicale to go. Even pushing in the gas pedal doesn't work to bring the vehicale back up to speed. Engine light is on 2 lightening strick lights appears tread light comes on code u1407(1/4) stored ac nor heater nurt.
I was driving with my 2 small children home when out of no where my check engine light came on, my "lightning bolt light" came on and my "fish tail" light came on then my engine stalled in middle of the road. Thankfully we were not on a busy road. But I normally am driving the interstate for work. (I work with people with disabilities, including having them in my vehicle. ) the code is letting me know the throttle body control is bad. I looked up recalls and 2014 Jeep Patriots have this recall. But my VIN specifically does not. Therefore I'm not sure if a dealership will cover it. It could have been a devastating accident if we had been on a busy road.
I was driving when all of sudden my Jeep Patriot started slowing down, limp and a bit out of my control. 3 lights turned on simultaneously. I pulled over to the side of the road. My engine started shaking and my Jeep sounded odd so I turned it off. I waited a bit and turned it back on. I was able to drive it back home safely as I was less than a mile away. I started doing research and found that many Jeep Patriot owners have gone through the same thing. Apparently it's a throttle body issue that Jeep has failed to recall or take acrion on. I had to pick up my son from school and this time the Jeep went limp after less than half of a mile of driving. I struggled to take my car back home and had to keep turning on and off my car. This is very dangerous I was very lucky to just be in my neighborhood. I bought this car in July. These sort of issues shouldn't already be happening. I now will have to take it to a mechanic and spend hundreds of dollars for something I am not responsible for.
The car has had several problems with steering engine heating and now throttle.
Voltage light comes on and Jeep goes into "limp mode", basically loses all power. Costing $1000. 00 plus 2 towing fees to get fixed. Only 85,000 miles on the vehicle. After a little research, I've found this happens all the time.
Car began to rev up while idle and electronic throttle light came on. Once I started to drive the car began to lose acceleration. This occurred in the middle of the road at several red lights after being stopped. Took to shop and they said this was a known issue with this car. The throttle body had to be replaced.
I have only 36,000 miles on my 2015 Jeep Patriot. On a trip from pennsylvania to georgia, halfway there, the etc light and the esc came on. I had to pull over every 45 to 50 miles to reset it. I had to take it to a mechanic. This will cost over $500. The mechanic said this should not happen with only 36,000 miles. Why, with many complaints, would this not be a recall?.
While driving or in a parked position while the engine runs, the rpm needle drops to zero 0 and my car doesn't accelerate when pressing the gas pedal. There are times I am on the highway and rpm drops to zero 0 and I have to pull over on the shoulders. I would have to put the car in park, and shut my car off for extra minutes or more before I can fully restart it. If I try turning the car on before the 2 minutes it would take a longer time to restart. This is very dangerous because the car shut off when I'm at the stop light, in the middle of the highway. When making a turn, and the rpm needle drops to zero 0, my steering wheel becomes so stiff/harden and is very very difficult to complete the turn.
While driving the esc came on reducing my ability to drive at normal speeds I was able to drive 15 - 20 mph to get Jeep back home. . . I bought this used Jeep Patriot 9 months ago. . . Why keep making car payments on it?. No recall for this as others have had same issue in their Jeep Patriots. . . I had a baby in Jeep too. . . I might as well let bank take it back as I don't have extended warranty or money for repairs. . .
Car wouldn't start one month ago. It wouldn't even turn after 3 attempts. After 10 minutes it started right up and had been normal. Today, 9/15/19, my car started up fine but 2 minutes into driving at 20mph my car lost all power. I was driving through my work parking lot driving in a forward motion. Several lights lit up in my dashboard prior to losing power. I was fortunate enough to not be on the freeway. I put my car in brake and restarted it. It started right up, but now has check engine light displayed. My battery is a few months old. I've tested it and it's charged. I'm afraid to drive my car and consider it not in a drivable state. If my car were to die on the freeway that would be a very dangerous situation. Car defect that caused this is unknown. .
I purchased a 2015 Jeep Patriot and my wife today, 9/12/2019, merely avoided a traffic collision caused by a throttle body and electronic throttle body defect which appears to be common with this type of vehicle.
Vehicle throttle control lights comes on when car is in motion which will then slow down the vehicle which can cause an accident that you can no longer control the steering wheel. When that light comes one the engine light and traction control lights come on as well. When on the highway car will lose acceleration which again you can't pull over it will just stop. This is very dangerous and can cause death. I have read so many more of the same complaints something needs to be done about this.
I needed to replace my throttle body unit on this car at 75,000 miles. The car is only 5 years old. I have seen numerous complaints about this same issue. 3 lights came the electronic stability control, malfunction indicator (check engine), and the electronic throttle control. My car could not surpass 30 mph which was incredibly dangerous on the highway. Additionally, the car was jerky and would jerk forward even when braking. This seems to be a recurring/known issue. I believe a recall of this specific part is needed.
Electronic throttle control light began to go off. Rpms were running higher than normal. After the sensor triggered twice, no problems other than rmps running high. 5 days after the initial warning light, upon stopping at a traffic light and resuming acceleration, check engine came on, then electronic throttle control, then traction control. This continued to happen every time the car had to decelerate or stop and the rpms dropped below 1. At one point, it stalled. I had to pull over, stop the car and restart it. If you were driving on a highway with continuous gas there wasn't a problem. The diagnostic repair is the throttle body housing needs to be replaced.
The crankshaft sensor failed causing the engine to stop while driving without warning on a city street in boston. The car was brought to the nearest garage where they replaced the crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor, but then an engine code came up saying that the accelerator pedal also needed to be replaced. I am unsure if this was related to the crankshaft sensor issue or just a coincidence. The car then had to be towed to a Jeep dealer to replace the accelerator pedal and relearn the sensors. I noticed there was a recall on 2016 Jeep Patriots for the same crankshaft problem but no recall has been issued for the same problem occurring in 2015 Jeep Patriots. The engine died without warning and it is fortunate that this happened at ~20mph, it would have been disastrous at highway speeds.
