Vehicle will stall with no/little warning. Stalls generally occur during wet and/or humid weather conditions, however does also occur during dry conditions. Stalls usually occur during idling while the vehicle is in gear (stopped at intersections or in traffic), but can also occur during initial acceleration from a stop. This issue has been occurring since early 2012 and is increasing in frequency. Chrysler has a related recall (08v528000, "power train:automatic transmission:control module (tcm, pcm)"), which seems to exactly describe this failure, however Chrysler claims that this specific vehicle is not included in the recall.

9 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2007 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 11/23/2011

I bought my 2007 Jeep Patriot brand new and it has been nothing but problems ever since. Today is the final straw and something needs to be done to Chrysler. Everytime I press the brakes to stop, my engine stalls out. This problems frequency seems to have increased since it is raining. My Patriot has stalled previously throughout the years but they were isolated incidences or so I thought. After reading Jeep forums online, I see this is a recurring problem which Jeep is not addressing. This is a major safety hazard as I live in a highly congested area. Stalling on the expressway or in the middle of an intersection can lead to accidents and I am concerned about my safety. This isn't the only problem I have had with this car. Appearantly its not uncommon to have to replace both lower control arms containing the ball joints at 30k miles. I have had to replace all four tires due to irregular wear and tear from defective parts. Even after an alignment, at high speeds the car vibrates harshly. The transmission struggles when accelerating. I perform regular maintenance on my car and should not be experiencing these issues. The dealerships won't do anything about these problems because they have not been addressed by daimler Chrysler. This is unacceptable for any manufactured car. I cannot believe Jeep gets away with all these safety hazards and nothing is being done about it.

10 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2008 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 01/10/2010

Electronic throttle control failure. While traveling on interstate 8 in arizona warning light came on resulting in engine running rough and brakes not operating correctly. When taken to dealer in yuma, ariz (fisher Jeep) I was told to shut it off and see if it would reset on it's own. This seemed to work, but I was told there was no way to check this unless it failed completely. I contacted the mfgr and they confirmed what the dealer said. They also said this item (etc) is only covered for 3 years under warranty. Since I only have a few months left I am afraid this will fail and leave me with a very expensive repair bill.
