Jeep Patriot owners have reported 1 problem related to windshield wiper/washer switch (under the visibility category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
June 26, 2007 purchased new 2007 Jeep Patriot, and on June 29, 2007 -windshield washer fluid began spraying erratically . Also, when not engaged, headlights lights didn't always come on, and sometimes unable to disengage high beams. July 1 - took it to dealer for service
July 2 - contacted by dealer who said that they could not find a problem, but when we picked it up the windshield washer fluid would not work at all and the lights only came on intermittently. . . . Left at dealer
July 3 - contacted by dealer who said that there was a TSB that they were previously unaware of and that they fixed the problem by "resetting a button". . . We picked up car and 3 miles down the road washer fluid began to spray erratically so that we could not see out of the windshield. . . Washer fluid would not turn off until car was turned off. . . Dealer picked car up again
July 6 - contacted by dealer who stated that they had replaced the multifunction switch and that the car was ready to be picked up. . . Picked up car and checked function of the washer fluid - did not work at all. The vehicle is still at the dealer. We feel that these issues are a safety concern because you can not see out of the windown when the washer fluid engaged spontaneously, and the lights are erratic.
