1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2026

While driving the moving vehicle on 3 occasions my vehicle has stalled out with me driving it, however there is a recall online for the same year, make and model of my vehicle for the same exact problems I am experiencing and I am being told that there are no recalls for my VIN. This is a problem since (let me repeat myself) online a recall for same year, make and model experiencing the exact problems with vehicle stalling and shutting off while driving. This is a serious issue and I keep getting the run around from Jeep corporation not insuring the safety of their vehicles and the people that own them.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2025

Touchscreen radio delamination issue renders touchscreen unusable to use or control any and all settings, bluetooth unresponsive, siriusxm and fm radio random station change with no control, maps and gps, phone, emergency services alerts, climate control, safety settings, interior and exterior lighting controls, all no longer accessible or functioning.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2025

The uconnect / touch screen display is constantly glitching- I can’t see anything other than striped lines and colors and/or a pitch black screen. I cannot use the rearview camera because of this, which creates a safety concern when backing up/reversing due to limited visibility without the rear view camera function. This problem has occurred with many other owners of the same vehicle (see posts online). The vehicle hasn’t been inspected but others had theirs inspected and claimed they were quoted $1,500+ for the screen repair, and even after repair, the screen malfunctioned again in a few weeks. The first sign of the issue was when I saw a thin, vertical green line through my touch screen, but it didn’t affect the visibility or usability of the screen so I thought nothing of it.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/12/2025

Stereo head unit screen went black. It started "glitchy" with streaks but eventually went black. No use of the rear back up camera or any functions on the head unit. . . Climate control, radio, setting, etc. I have seen online that this is common and I do not think it is right for a consumer to spend well over a 1000 to replace it. This is not a "wear" part. Disapointed in the quality of components in my Renegade.

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/16/2025

Radio screen has completely gone out. The inability to use the backup camera causes safety concerns.

6 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/11/2025

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the exact component or system that failed is unknown at this time. Symptoms suggest an issue possibly involving the engine cooling system, idle control, or electrical systems. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the vehicle has stalled suddenly in traffic, especially when coming to a stop, putting myself and others at risk of rear-end collisions or blocking lanes unexpectedly. The overheating raises the risk of engine fires or total vehicle shutdown while driving. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? the problem has been reproduced once at an independent service center, but the exact cause has not been identified. Therefore, the problem has not been fully diagnosed or confirmed. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? no, the vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. - Jeep was taken to the dealership, but they couldn't find anything. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no warning lamps or messages appeared prior to the stalling or overheating. Symptoms first appeared during warmer months when the vehicle was idling or stopped in traffic.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2025

Unknown. Bought a 2018 Jeep Renegade, brand new and about 4-5 months ago, the screen started glitching. Sometimes, it only shows 1/3 of the screen, and there is a constant beeping as the screen switches between apps and stations. In other words, the screen is faulty, and it sometimes affects the reading of the digital speedometer. My car has only about 84k miles. I understand many others are experiencing similar issues with their 2018 Jeep Renegade.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/11/2025

The clutch does not engage properly cause it to burnout.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/22/2024

The screen for the radio presents several vertical lines of discoloration before the screen goes completely black. There is no way to return the screen's display until you turn your car off, let it rest for a while, and start again - even then the display quickly reverts to unusable condition. This affects safety as this is the only way to use the backup camera and is the sole control center for many of the vehicle's functions. This appears to be a widespread issue, and the dealer is charging astronomical amounts for the repair of this defect.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/04/2024

Description of incident / failure the vehicle’s center infotainment/display screen malfunctioned and became partially inoperable. The left side of the screen displays vertical colored lines, while the remainder of the screen is dark/black and unresponsive. As a result, the backup camera display is no longer visible, and touchscreen functionality is severely limited or unusable. Component or system that failed the failed component appears to be the infotainment touchscreen/display unit, including the integrated rearview (backup) camera display system. The vehicle and the defective screen are currently available for inspection upon request. Safety risk this failure created a safety risk because the backup camera is required for safe reversing, especially when pedestrians, children, or objects may be behind the vehicle. Without a functioning screen, visibility is significantly reduced, increasing the risk of a collision, property damage, or injury while backing up. Reproduction or confirmation the problem occurs consistently and has not resolved on its own. Each time the vehicle is started and placed into reverse, the screen remains malfunctioned and the backup camera does not display.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/24/2024

I've seen many many many complaints about the touchscreen going out of blank which is used for the backup camera, would could be a hazard when backing out of tight spots. Mine has gone out and lots of others have complained.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/11/2024

Unknown running lights and blinkers. Continually replace bulbs and either burn out black or just stop working. Possible wiring /electrical issues? dashboard computer works at random. Ongoing for about a year. Last 3 months the dashboard lightning bolt light flashes along with the service engine light. It will lose power to move forward while in motion and at times loses steering power as well. Speed doesn't seem to matter. Can be going 65 mph or 25 mph and happens at random. Usually flashing bolt light disappears after vehicle is turned off and restarted but service engine light remains on for a few days but then disappears after that. Vehicle has been brought in to be repaired and diagnosed several times at different locations but since the warning lights on the dash disappear, the scan device doesn't detect an issue. Ongoing malfunction is potentially dangerous and very frightening despite how fast the vehicle is moving. Not sure how to move forward with resolution when nobody seems to find what is wrong with it? money continually spent on trying to diagnose without resolution is frustrating and not knowing details puts others at risk as well. No active recalls and have not found or any prior recalls that would explain. Light issues are inconvenient but mentioned in the chance they are a component of the source of bigger issues that may include electrical , powertrain, etc. . . . *dashboard warning lights along with loss of driving power has happened on multiple different occasions. In additional details below I will record most current episode.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2024

The radio head unit (display monitor) has failed. I can not use backup camera, safety and security alerts. This problem is common across all Jeep Renegades. No recall has been provided. These units cost $2,000 to replace at the dealer.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2024

Engine stalled (lost power) while driving on the interstate during rush hour traffic. I had to pull into emergency lane. This happened 3 times within an hour or so. We almost wrecked the car. Very scary and dangerous situation. I checked and there are no recalls with my VIN number. I’m not sure what to do now.

15 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/08/2024

Following updates to the computer system the radio touch screen develops lines and then blanks out. Can no longer use the vehicle backup camera, control the heat system and other vital systems on the vehicle as the display is unusable. Desler in colorado springs says this happens often, Jeep is aware of it but offers no guidance other than replacing the radio at the owners expense. . Appears in all model year.

16 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/05/2024

May u connect. It don’t always connect to my phone. A now the screen it gets lines a then the screen starts to go blank then it will be gin to roll a display the compass seems to only do this while it’s hot. Outside. Then the screen is hot to touch.

17 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2024

My screen is not visible. Which doesnt allow me to use camera to reverse or backup with visibly seeing what behind through screen, which causes to be a hazard. Replacing will cause me tons of money that I dont have. Which mechanic stated there has been many Jeeps that has had same problem.

18 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/03/2024

When it is raining, the vehicle shuts down and service warning lights come on. The service engine, service transmission, service hill assist, service parking break lights come on. The vehicle will start, but won't go into drive and no fuel flows into the engine to give enough power to move. After about 30 minutes, the vehicle might run, but it will shift very hard and the transmission won't fully engage. After 45 minutes, all the warning lights go off, except for the check engine light, and the car is driveable. This only happens in the rain or after a car wash.

19 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/18/2024

The console on the dash that shows the radio and back up camera view very frequently has white lines running through it. You can not see the screen. As a safety issue, you also can not see the camera view when trying to back up. It is a safety issue. I'm seeing on vlogs that many people have this same complaint.

20 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/14/2024

Back up screen.

21 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/13/2024

My touchscreen is acting up and cannot use it for backup or any thing. This needs to be addressed as I need my backup camera to work as I back up when I park and is a requirement for my job.

22 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/26/2024

Oil leakage problems.

23 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2024

Owned since new, the vehicle has 19000 miles on it and the factory head unit is mostly delaminated. Will randomly go into and change vehicle settings or otherwise self modify stations/input while driving. This can be very dangerous depending on what it does without human input. This is a very common problem, unsure why there is not a recall for this.

24 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2023

In less than 50,000 miles my screen/radio unit that controls many features of the vehicle including heat/ac, rear camera view and radio/navigation tools, has stopped working completely. I'm seeing so many people having the same exact issue. Jeep would not help me with this issue without me paying a huge service fee to even confirm that it is broken.

25 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2023

The touch screen has been an issue it does not come on. It his controls the heated steering wheel and cannot be shut off which then over eats and makes it impossible to touch. The screen controls the heated seats and the heat in general.

26 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2023

The screen in the car has completely blacked out on me. Once in a blue moon it might come on but within 5 minutes it has lines running down the screen and eventually goes black. This leaves me without navigation leaving me to have to resort looking at my phone which is a much smaller screen. But the biggest thing is this leaves me without my backup camera. I have looked throughly online with so many other Renegade owners having the same issue with no other resolution from dealerships other then complete replacement of the unit. Again I've seen 100s of forums or reddit post about this exact issue with 100s more people chiming in saying they have this exact issue.

27 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/06/2023

From the first few months we've had this car it will randomly stall out about 10 times over 5 years while driving on busy streets. We've taken it to a Chrysler dealership and were told it was fine, but that we should get more frequent oil changes. We don't drive this car much (5 years and only 24k miles). It is still doing this and I just checked articles on this model/year and there are both fuel pump ub2 and powertrain control recalls u87 that say they lead to stalling out. But they are not listed as being recalls on our vehicle. I called Chrysler tonight and they said these recalls aren't for our vehicle, only a random software update w20. The car has been taken to a Chrysler dealer a few times. It also had an issue where sometimes we couldn't pump gas (gas pumps wouldn't work) and read online there was a failure in some Jeep gas tanks that they were missing a hole. We looked and there was no visible hole. We took it to the Chrysler dealership and they told us that wasn't a real error and nothing was wrong but when it got it back there was a hole there and we have been able to pump gas since. So I'm not sure that we trust that dealership.

28 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/16/2023

My car shut down and will not restart in high altitudes. This has been on ongoing issue since I purchased it in 2019. The car will sputter and feel like it has no power, then die. When I go to restart, it will not start. We have almost been hit by traffic several times because of this issue. Seems to only happen in high altitude. We live in the mountains, so we climb elevation quite a bit.

29 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/10/2023

Screen went completely black. Does not work. Backup camera now useless. Cannot use any of the function on the screen because it is all black.

30 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/06/2023

The uconnect 8. 4 touchscreen is changing channels, and other features, and in addition, changes the temperature in the car. This is a safety hazard as it is distracting, and is making the vehicle unusable, and uncomfortable to use. I have contacted Chrysler customer care several times and keep getting the run around in getting the uconnect replaced, and have not gotten a resolution.

31 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/27/2023

Vehicle is not throwing a code or check engine light but is sputtering and stalling or losing power while driving. This can be when I’m slowing down or accelerating. It’s done it on the interstate and while approaching a red light. I have taken it to the dealership and they said there is nothing wrong with my vehicle and they can not find the issue. I had them check the fuel pump since that was the closest issue I can find to my issue. They said the fuel pump has no issues. There has to be a reason why my car is shutting down while driving and not all the time. It will do it one day and not again for weeks or months and then do it back to back and then nothing again for a while. There has to be a reason why my Jeep is acting like this and not triggering a light or code and the dealer is unable to resolve it.

32 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/26/2023

The radio/ radio screen failed and continues to malfunction. While driving the radio was going bonkers and eventually called 911 by itself. The radio constantly changing stations and settings resulted in losing focus on the road and could have led to an accident. Dealer confirmed radio needs to be replaced. The component has not been inspected. There were no warning lights, or messages. Noticed bubbles on screen in 2020 or 2021. Didn’t know it would go bonkers and behave independent like it did when the problem occurred earlier this year.

33 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2023

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the back manual sunroof broke off on the highway going 60 mph. The sunroof flew onto the highway while the hinge that was attached to the sunroof flew off hitting me while driving. It is available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I was physically hit with the piece that broke off, and if there was a car driving behind me, the sunroof flying off could have caused an accident. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? vehicle will be going to Jeep dealership on 6/7/2023 has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? the component will be inspected by Jeep on 6/7/2023 were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? there were no symptoms prior to failure. Sunroof had not been opened in 3 years, we only used the front automatic sunroof which is also displaying signs of failure.

34 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2023

The touch screen has started to delaminate. It is currently still in the vehicle and available to review. The touch screen will randomly start "pressing" buttons. First this is a distraction to the driver as the radio station is changed, calls are randomly placed and setting are changed. Second you have settings that affect the way the vehicle physically brakes and steers that are configured via the uconnect system, and that system has a defect that can cause those settings to change without the knowledge of the user, that’s a safety issue. Multiple sites have stated that this issue is common on 2017 and newer Jeep products. I will be taking it to a dealership to see what the replacement cost will be but the estimates from phone calls is around $800 to $1600. No warning other than the screen began to bubble and the the random "button pushing" began.

35 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2023

Radio display screen stopped working. Black screen. Back-up camera rendered unusable. Upon further research, this appears to be a common and expensive issue for Jeep Renegades that should be looked into by Jeep.
