Vehicle stops ramdonly. It has happened more than 3 times. I have not received a manufacturer recall repair for the two reported isuues . Or a written confirmation that says that my VIN # is not affected. Thanks.
My Jeep on 11/11/2021 just turned 60,000 miles the light came on change oil so I started it drove out of the drive way turned around the corner it said you can't shift in drive so I pulled over put it in park put my foot on the brake push the button to start it sound like a hissing sound then it would crank and start I got to the corner to stop and it died out put it in park put my foot on the brake and push the button to start did the same thing making like a hissing sound started to crank after a minute and a half and it seemed to do this in the morning although couple more times during the day. This is a serious problem it can cause an accident I think it's a fuel pump not getting enough fuel.
Car stalls / engine shuts off while driving. Engine will cut off while going over 30 mph. There have been many reports of this happening online on 2016 - 2018 Jeep Renegades.
2018 jeel renagade 4wd stalls while driving. Feels like loss of fuel pressure around 60 mph. No speed control while deceleration. When stopped the vehicle requires to shift to park and turn off. Sometimes will automatically try to restart the engine several times. Dangerous because I was driving on a busy highway with no acceleration or deceleration.
The car smells horrible like gas inside when I start it to heat up. Started shaking, engine is making a loud sound that it didn't before. I got the transmission computer updated on March 30, 2021. Now transmission temperature gets to close to 200 degrees and the dealer said there was no need to flush because of the model. And I got the recall computer update on January 30. 2021 also for the oil issue. I'm am so unhappy with this vehicle. All these problems happen after my warranty ran out.
The Jeep sometimes stalls when coming to a stop. It'll say that the car needs to be placed in park, you attempt to start it, the Jeep struggles to start. Eventually it will start. The Jeep also makes a hard jolt sometimes in higher speeds. It has been noticed to do this when the Jeep is accelerating to cruising speed. Sometimes it is noticed when DE accelerating.
I I am driving my car and at first when it hit one line of gas with no light on it would just shut off and not restart until I added more gas. This happened several time. I contacted the dealer and said they could not find anything cause there was not codes in the system and they could not make it happen again. So I was sent home. It has happen now at least four more times since. The last time it happened was last week and this time I had two lines of gas in the car. I had it in for expectation today and told them about the problem again. The preceded to tell me the same thing. Take it home because they can't find nothing wrong with it and I should call a tow truck next time it happens. But the car shuts off anytime. The last time it was on a highway with a two year old in the back seat. The car is acting like it ran out of gas but it is getting worst and is putting people in danger and can't get jelp to figure out what it wrong.
My car is shutting down while driving it. My car just started saying low oil pressure and not even a day later turned off while I was driving it and I was almost rear ended. It did it once more before I was able to get it into the dealership. The dealership told me to do an oil consumption test and bring it back in but I don't think I should have to drive a potentially unsafe car. There is a class action lawsuit against fca from other people experiencing the same problems I am experiencing because fca has known about these issues for years and has done nothing to fix the problem.
Upon pressing the gas peddle for acceleration, my car hesitates and jerks when I need to increase my speed quickly, but as soon as I let off of the gas it immediately stops. It does this in any gear upon shifting if I am in need to quickly increase my speed. For instance when I need to get on to an interstate (which I drive everyday) I have to wait for the traffic to be clear before I can get on the interstate because it wont go quick enough with traffic to merge. If I am out for an easy drive it drives just fine. (just like the recall for the other Renegade listed. This has not fixed itself. It is still constantly doing this.
I purchased my 2018 Jeep Renegade in Feb of 2019. I had under 5k miles on it and took it on my first road trip. I made it to colorado and the vehicle stalled while driving at least 12 times. There were no warning lights or anything. I had the vehicle taken to 4 different dealerships and no codes or issues were found. I dealt with fca which was a nightmare, and all they offered was a free warranty. I let them know I dont feel safe in my vehicle multiple times. I then took my vehicle on the first road trip this weekend to lubbock and once again it stalled out 4 times while driving 75 mph. I dropped it off at the dealership yesterday and no issues were found again. There is a safety recall on this vehicle for the exact same issues yet my VIN doesn't fit the recall list. This is unacceptable and I want it fixed immediately. I could die from this vehicle stalling while driving at high speeds. Please get someone to help me.
Rental vehicle. While on us 89 north bound after passing logan vehicle engine stalled/stopped several times while climbing thru cache valley on us highway 89 exposing us to a dangerous environment. Vehicle had to be pushed to a safe place (mile marker 429). This issue may or may not be related to the vehicle production or just only for the one identified above. 11jul20 utah forest/park person as well as utah state patrol trooper helped in obtaining road assistance.
6 times in the past week, our vehicle has started sputtering and stalling out while driving on the highway. Our gas was around half full and we were not going up or down any hills. The mph range was 60-90mph that this was happening and after driving for a couple of hours. We were not able to restart the vehicle for at least 10 minutes and sometimes it took over 45 minutes before we could start the vehicle again. We have taken it to the dealership 3 times, each time telling us that there is nothing wrong. We have contacted fca group about the issue and said that we don't have any recalls and say that there is nothing that can be done. They have also suggested that we just seek out legal counsel. There is only 19k miles on the car and it was purchased brand new April of 2019.
I bought the vehicle 3/6/2020 from the I-10 Dodge dealership in indio, CA. The car appeared to be working perfectly: no funny smells or noises, good acceleration and brakes, no warning lights on dash console or anything like that. Last Saturday (5/2/2020) I drove it to my friend's mobile home. I parked in the carport and turned the engine off. I went into the home and looked out the window about two minutes later. Smoke was pouring out of the engine compartment. I looked in vain for a hose or fire extinguisher, then called 911. At this point flames were shooting up from the engine, setting the carport and the side of the mobile home on fire. The fire department arrived and put out the fire. The vehicle was destroyed in the eight minutes from when I called 911 to when the firefighters put out the fire.
I was on my way to work, driving about 30 mph, and all of a sudden, some "d" light came on, & then all the lightd came on & then I recieved a message that I need to switch my gears & my tire locked up & my car just shut down. I was not able to turn my car back on. After several attempts to push my start button, after finally getting it to turn back on it stalled out again. I was able to get it to turn on again then I made it home. I started reading blogs & it said to check your oil. I checked it and it was completely empty. I changed my oil last month and barely have driven it. I have a 2018 Renegade with 24k miles on it. If my car did this when I jumped on the highway would of caused a major car accident. No reason why all my oil should be gone.
Car frequently states "oil pressure low" despite constant oil changes. Car idles when turning a corner and completely shuts off. Dashboard flashes messages that "vehicle must be in park", steering wheel locks up and tells me to "push the brake and start button". . . I had to do this three times. Very dangerous! car shut off in 5 p. M. Orlando traffic! has happened three times in two months.
Car powers off when driving. It has happened 3 times this week. It shuts off so you can't give it any gas and says on the screen place vehicle in p and hit the start button this happened 3 times this morning and the dealer said it might be oil consumption and I'm now doing a test for that which they said they might have to replace the engine.
The vehicle burns oil causing the vehicle to shutdown without warning. We have the vehicle services regularly, but it burns so much oil we're having issues before it's due for routine oil change. My son was about 30 miles away from home when his vehicle stalled without warning. He also mentioned that at times it would sputter during acceleration. We purchased this vehicle new and currently it has 29,000 miles. We had the vehicle towed under warranty to the dealership and they kept it for over a week before they were able to look at it. I inquired about getting a loaner vehicle since we were down a vehicle and the dealer said all their loaners were out and they will only allow us to have the loaner for 5 days total. So, they said they would contact us when they had a loaner available. We never heard back from them, so my husband called them back 8 days later to inquire about a loaner again, and at that time they said the vehicle was ready; all it needed was oil. So, when we went to pick-up the vehicle they're charging us $189 and this vehicle is still on warranty. The warranty on the Jeep is fraudulent and the dealerships are devious.
Cars loses power while driving, oil pressure and fuel pressure lights com on when stopped in park. Excessive oil consumption, seat belt sensor malfunction , this has happened 4 times, dealership wont return calls to schedule service either. Last occurrence was 8/21/2020 @ 33,150 miles.
While driving my Jeep Renegade has a hesitation when I take off it started doing this this week I bought this car this year with 72 miles already having to replace the breaks which of course should last me at leae a year.
Had an oil change around 2 months before the issue occured. When pulling out of my drive way the Jeep stopped and shut off. Upon inspection I was low on oil. After adding 3 quarts of oil I found where other people online had similar issues with specifically the 2018 Jeep Renegade 2. 4 liter motor consuming copious amounts of oil. Others had they're Renegades stop while driving down the highway but lucky I was lucky enough to be in my driveway. I have always had an oil change on time and through Jeep as well. I also don't understand how they passed and emissions test while the motor burns that much oil.
Car is excessively burning oil. It randomly shuts off going down the road. It has almost caused accidents.
Twice in the last week, my 2018 Jeep Renegade with around 17,500 miles has stalled after moderately hard braking. In both cases the vehicle had a difficult time restarting. In the last case, the stalling occurred during busy rush hour city traffic and we sat for about minute with traffic passing us while we attempted to restart the vehicle. My girlfriend, a new driver, was driving during this instance and I am concerned for our safety now.
Car stalled in traffic with no prior warnings. The car would not start back up.
The vehicle loses fuel pressure and burns oil when there is no present oil leak. The vehicle shuts off while in drive causing the wheel to lock.
Driving with my child in the vehicle and the car engine cutoff. Luckily I was not in traffic and was able to get the vehicle stopped. Message in dash was something about needing to shift to park. Placed vehicle in park, engine restarted and sputtered for a moment, then continued as normal. Only happened once. Dealership said it was likely due to low oil level (approximately 2500 miles since oil change).
Was driving my car started to sputter and it is stalling out when I come to a stop. Also shaking and making noise when I drive it.
While accelerating the vehicle staled. I was scary I bought my Jeep and it only has 8000 miles on it. I put the car in park then drive it did not move. I pushed off the road. Turned the engine off then restarted it, and it drove fine. I am still nervous driving my Renegade, it may happen again.
Ecelarating to proceed onto a busy street and car stalled almost causing an accident. The engine light came on. I put it in park and stepped on the break. It took two tries to restart.
The Jeep stalls while driving. A couple times it happened on the freeway going around 70 mph. Most recently it happened on a smaller road going about 40 mph. It just shuts off completely. When you try to crank it afterwards it stutters but eventually cranks then a few minutes after driving it shuts off again.
Vehicle stalled on a hill without warning. Towed to dealership and was told it had 1 quart of oil at 979 miles. At 700 miles when checked it was in normal range.
Jeep stopped accelerating on the interstate going 75 on cruise control; we were in the passing line with semi trucks behind us so we has nothing choice but to pull over to the left shoulder until we could safely move the car to the right shoulder. Car continued to run, but would not accelerate. No check engine light. Car was towed to a dealership, diagnostic did not show any issues; I was told that it happened because it was hot and because I drove it more than 5 hours. Jeep is stuck 12 hrs from where I live and there are no parts available. Manufacturer and dealership refuse to give me a loaner car.
Takata recall my car will not accelerate at times and I almost got hit today I was pressing the gas at a light turning left and my car wouldn't accelerate and my passenger freaked out thinking we were going to get hit, the gas pedal went down and then my car kinda of jumped and finally accelerated but it's delayed very often especially on the highway it takes time to accelerate and I press the gas slowly. Also I have terrible gas mileage and feel like it drains out quickly.
Brand new Jeep Renegade 2018 purchased Jan. After one approx. 2mos. Tech in car not working and then engine light on for a week. Brought to harr in worc. Could not figure out. Reported to customer care for a case number. Radio then blacked out/then the safety issue occurred. The car stalled out in oncoming traffic going approx. 40 to 50 with my kids in car. Same day contacted Jeep cust. Care who were to make me and appointment with rental in millbury. No rental was ever booked. Lost work time. Millbury told me it was a known oil issue and when low the car will stall to protect the engine not the passengers. They told us there is no recall due to the fact that nobody has died or been hurt yet. Station Jeep where I purchased is doing an oil consumption test on my vehicle and said the same thing about the care but sold it to me without informing me. I am in contact with fiat Chrysler in michigan who have not done a thing but to offer warranty and a number in case my car stalls again. I am most recently having a few other tech issues. . . Which I was told is related to the oil being low. Something needs to be done before we are seriously hurt or worse.
I was driving down the road and my car started stalling and just cut off each time I time to start it and hit the gas the car keep stalling and I was almost hit from behind my car would not move, I sat for 10 mins then I was able to move it out of traffic. Finally I got it started back up drove it maybe 15/20 mins down the road it did the same thing in the middle of traffic causing me to almost be hit from behind. I did the same steps as I did before so I was able to get to a parking lot and I had to have it towed to hendrick in concord they were out of cars he suggested that I could come get my car because they couldn't find anything wrong, I told him why would I drive a car that keeps cutting off that's a danger to me and other people on the road. Next day I had my car towed again to keffer in charlotte because the guy told me they would put me in a car and I explained to him that I can no rent from enterprise I spent $27 on lyft to get there and they didn't have cars I sat there for about 5 hrs and still ended up going home with no vehicle I had to miss a day of work and then I am going to miss another day because they have my vehicle and did not put me in a vehicle and did not want to own up to the fact that there employee gave me false information it seemed like everyone I spoke to blew me off and didn't care. I purchased the vehicle from them for about $24,000. I feed hearing something in my air for months and kept taking the car back and they kept saying they fixed it and I kept hearing and I also notified them about my car not picking up speed and because they couldn't find any codes they couldn't figure it out. I had have almost gotten hit from behind 3 times because my call was not picking up speed when I would switch lanes I could be going 70 on 485 and my car felt like it was going 20 and dealership refused to press the issue. The engine is the problem.
Sputtering or hesitation when driving.
