Factory settings for rear passenger window provide too much lift to window which place increase stress on weather stripping. Over time, weather stripping can break and compromise the door's electrical system. It also impairs how door closes leading to increased stress on the door pillar which can give way and break. This leads to further risk of compromise of electrical systems as well as body component as it may change the vehicle's dynamics.

I am writing to file a formal safety complaint regarding my 2021 Jeep Renegade, which has been experiencing sudden, unprovoked automatic braking for almost a year. The issue began in spring [year], and over the past two months, it has become significantly more frequent. The vehicle brakes sharply on its own even when there are no obstacles, cars, or objects in front of us. This happens at normal driving speeds and creates a serious risk of rear-end collisions—especially dangerous on highways. We have a baby, and this malfunction has put our family in frightening situations multiple times. We’ve brought the vehicle to the dealer and service center several times, but they claim no error code shows up, so no repair is made. The car is currently at the service center again, and still no resolution. We’ve also requested assistance from our Jeep case manager, but no effective action has been taken. There are additional issues such •the door locks stop working after it rains, requiring us to use the physical key in the door. •the sunroof stopped working, even though it was replaced two years ago (this is currently being addressed, but remains part of the larger reliability concern). This automatic braking issue is the most urgent concern. The car is not safe to drive, and the lack of response from Jeep is deeply troubling. The "my sky" sunroof on this vehicle will open but not close. It has been a problem since the vehicle was purchased in 2018. It has been in and out of central avenue Chrysler Jeep for repairs. There are two cases with Jeep customer care. The sunroof was supposedly repaired in octover 2024 but it still never operates properly. Now the sunroof is frozen in the open position. Even the dealership cannot get it to close. This is a safety hazard - I don't know if parts will fly off while driving and it's danagerous to drive a car with an open sunroof in rainy or stormy weather conditions, which are common in new york. If you check online, there are many people reporting similar problems with this particular sunroof.

The mysky retractable roof is malfunctioning on many Jeep that are equipped with the automatic roof. The panels can come loose and strike a vehicle that's behind. The roof malfunctions and will not open or close properly.

The indoor cloth paneling is peeling off due to cheap adhesive materials used by Jeep manufacturers. The filament inside the cloth paneling is falling out and getting in the air I am breathing in the car. I looked online and it seems this is a problem with many 2015-2017 Jeep Renegades and is said to be a design/material defect. This should be a recall. The head lights and right side parking light flicker and sometimes don’t come on. This may be an electrical issue that other 2015-2017 Jeep Renegade owners document having as well. The dealer wants to charge hundreds of dollars for these repairs when they are Jeep brand defects.

-airbags failed to deploy in a head on collision!! -safety! we were in a head on collision and our airbags never deployed, if they had my daughter and I would have significantly less bodily injuries and trauma!! -no warning lamps or messages appeared before or after impact -yes vehicle has been inspected by police, insurance reps, auto service center rep, lawyer I was driving our newly purchased (owned less then 30 days with 17882 miles) 2017 Jeep Renegade with my teenage daughter at 4:38pm rain was present traveling straight through an green light intersection I had the right a way when another car traveling towards us attempting to turn left failed to yield for us and hit us head on bouncing off and hitting us again at a high rate of speed. Airbags never deployed.

I have a 2018 Jeep Renegade, when it rains water leaks from my roof/ceiling down to my dashboard soaking all the electrical equipment. My vehicle doesn’t have a sunroof and I can’t find where the leaking is coming from.

In freezing weather the front doors of my vehicle will not always open and when they do the latch will not allow them to close. The mechanism is working but the door latch will not latch. I have video but can’t upload it.

As we were headed onto the interstate via the on ramp I-44 west in st. Robert mo we had the from passenger and driver side windows down and we heard a loud pop as the front tempered glass panel of our panoramic sunroof/moonrise shattered above us cutting my arm and back. Sunny day no vehicles in front or behind us to kick up a rock or anything. This is clearly a defect in the design of the 2018 panoramic glass panels as later models top glass have a different style and design.

The cable for the hood latch snapped. This is an issue because if the vehicle breaks down at the side of the road or needs a jump start in a lot etc, the hood will not open. This can cause risk of exposure as well as prolonged stay on the shoulder of the road. Mechanic at autonation reported that he has seen this issue with multiple Jeep Renegades, which is alarming. No lights or indications are made by the vehicle informing owner of the issue.

The mysky roof on my Jeep broke off and flown off and onto the highway, the latch on the inside broke off into tiny plastic pieces causing the sunroof to fly up and out onto the highway. The vehicle was in motion going 63 mph at the time the event took place, on a highway.

Weather strip repair on all four doors windows over 8 time on my vehicle n not getting the proper fixing service on it. . I get water leaks into the vehicle and loud wind noise. I had ask several time did they take off the panel n look n see how far my window are going up and causing damage to the weather strips. . I had google this issue n told them about the window regulator not being adjusted right for the window to stop at the correct spot… I got a body’s shop estimate how much it would cost me to fix my car. . And it a manufacturer issue from what the body shop say it will need new windows regulator and weatherstrip n panel n trim around the window due to a poorly placement on the car. . Due to the service department technician didn’t know how to put them on. . Strives of pratville al service my car 7 times and premier of troy al service my car 1 time.

My mom was parking the vehicle in a parking lot, when it accelerated unexpectedly causing her to jump a curb and a tree branch struck the windshield and roof. A witness in a car nearby said she heard the vehicle rev up before jumping the curb.

The mysky feature on this particular model along with others vehicle has broke and not working. The main concern for alot of us is the brackets that slide the roof open and close are breaking very easily. There are many Jeep Renegade users that are having the same issues. The Jeep dealership has also said the same that they fix alot of these issues and are not covered. This can also be a safety issue since it is an escape from a vehicle if the doors become unable to open.

Constant engine stalling at highway speeds and normal speeds causing all engine power to cease in my vehicle leaving it to the mercy of my brakes which lock up upon power loss and makes it extremely difficult to stop. Brought vehicle to dealership multiple times just to be told that they could not duplicate the problem. It continues to happed and I have already had one small collision and have almost been forced off of a cliff 2 times since these problems have started.

In the event of my frontal collision, my patellar tendon on my right leg was ruptured after my knee impacted the plastic steering column cover which houses the windsheild wiper switch, igntion switch (push-to-start), and turn signal multifunction lever. My injury required surgery to repair my ruptured tendon. This trim piece did not shatter nor did it protect my knee during impact which caused my trauma and now debilitating condition. For reference I am 5'9 225lbs at the time of incident on feburary 21, 2020.

Check engine light randomly comes on at higher speeds on the freeway and then goes back off. Last time it was on, went to repair shop and had it hooked up to the dialysis machine and it stated that the thermostat needed replacing. But the check engine light never stays on. After I stop the car and restart it, it's off. It also randomly lurches forward or shakes while in drive or parked. I've already had to replace the radiator fan which kept blowing fuses due to the fan going off track and getting stuck. I thought that fixed the jumping, but it still occurs. Just less often. My mysky panel engine is also broken and will not open. Starts to open, then closes or stops completely after only an inch or two of opening.

Hood opens without me opening it. It happened 3 times so far. One time it happened on the parkway but it has the safety so it doesn't swing up. The shifting shifted so hard it made a clucken noise I thought the transmission went. That happened twice. The car only has 20,000 miles and the trans sounds like it's starting to go. I was driving both times.

Second incident/ see tracking #11084790. Brought car to jim click tucson to have panel on front of roof checked due to concern as panel seemed loose-had just been replaced d/t part coming loose and flying off previously while traveling on the highway. Inspected by service manager who documented panel appears warped at front drivers edge. �part is secure. � on way home part flew off while driving on highway at posted highway speed. Reported to Jeep dealership and called customer service at Jeep headquarters. Incident reported and given case file number for case review. Expressed concern over safety of having this part fly off the roof twice now. This time the part stayed on less than 1 week and we had expressed concern that the part still seemed insecure while at the dealership right after the replacement was done. Wind noise and rattling have been ongoing problem with this roof. Waiting to have part replaced again. Part #068246339-aa.

While driving the vehicle on a highway in az the front panel of the slidingsky sunroof flew off the roof. Have been issues with this roof since purchased brand new in nh. Had brought it to the dealership at least twice previously for ongoing rattling, incomplete closure and excessive wind noise from this roof. Eventually, they supposedly replaced the roof unit but the issues have continued ultimately resulting in this latest issue of the front roof piece literally blowing off the vehicle. It has been brought into a dealership in arizona for repair and we expressed our concern over this potentially being a hazard to other drivers on the toad that could result in injury to others. The dealership expressed no opinion or concern other than they would replace the piece that came off the vehicle.

2017 Jeep Renegade with removable roof panels. I was driving and the roof panel became detached and flew off my Jeep. The Jeep was on a normal country street going 35-40 mph. It shot off, flying backwards. It landed 50 feet behind me, in a front yard. It was 5 inches stuck in the mud/yard of a home. It was just the front panel and not the back panel. The button for the roof to slide no longer works, the panel is bent, it is curved. It would not go back on and no longer works the way it was meant to operate.

The seal between the window and the top of the driver door has been replaced twice by the dealer. The seal continues to crack allowing wind and water to enter the cabin. The sound is loud enough to drown out the radio and is distracting. This occurs while the vehicle is in motion.

Posting this incident due to seeing so many other similar issues with the Renegade windshield. I leased the Renegade under a great deal of pressure in July 2016. Now I am seeing why. It is a dangerous piece of junk. Issue: I was driving the vehicle during week two with a friend that was a witness. We were on a dry, clear road with two other cars, something flew up and dinged the windshield and the windshield cracked. Had to make claim to get it repaired. Company did a patch, but the star crack is still in the lower part of my vision. Since this is a lease I likely will need to have the entire windshield replaced. I haven't had any claims or tickets in well over thirty years. I have had Jeeps and other Chrysler vehicles my entire life and never have I had a windshield crack with less than 300 miles on it. With the other engine issues and stalling issues this vehicle is a death trap. Going to tape a note to the back of the vehicle that the "this Renegade stalls and turns off without warning. Please don't hit me. " (reported in other incident reports. ).

Ever since we bought the Jeep it's had problems. Problems included shuttering, electrical malfunctioning, and door locks failing. Even problems with the sun roof. Each time we took it back to the dealership the Jeep was returned with �no problem found�. Just recently the service engine light came on and we took the Jeep to get serviced. The mechanic told us about an issue or recall that's been occurring to our model Jeep.

While driving, there was a loud pop, the vehicle then lost power, the engine compartment caught fire, then the fire consumed the entire vehicle.

On September 24th I was driving and the floor mat got pushed forward and wrapped around the exposed steering column. I had to stop the car in the middle of a busy street to get out and manually pull the floor mat out of the steering column because I was unable to steer the car even to the side of the road. Then, January 15th I was driving through the imperial dunes area on the way to California and the hard plastic strip that covers the roof rack hardware (I do not have a roof rack so Jeep put a strip in there to cover the hardware) broke in half and flew off my vehicle while going 70 miles an hour into the traffic behind me.

Water has been leaking into the car and forming a puddle in the carpeting on the passenger side front and rear floor. I believe it is coming from the ac.
