The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Renegade latitude. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25-30 mph, there was another vehicle coming in the opposite direction onto a steep curve on the road. The contact steered right to avoid hitting the other vehicle and ended up hitting a tree that was on the road, then hit two other trees nearby. The air bags did not deploy. The contact and passenger did not sustain injuries and no medical attention was received. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed back to the contact's parent's residence. The front frame, tie rod and radiator were damaged. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000.
