When I was driving and stopped at a red light, my Jeep automatically shut off. It had the steering wheel warning and air bag warning pop up. I had a message that told me to put my vehicle in park when I tried to start it back up. I placed it in park and started up the Jeep again. It came back on, but the warning lights remained on. Once I made it home, I safely turned my vehicle off and then restarted it. Once I restarted it, those warnings were no longer on.

Random warning messages and lights. Power steering fails, as does the power brakes. Usually, as I'm driving, it begins with airbag warning message. Then, the warning messages increase: front collision, lane departure, blind spot, brake, power steering. While all of these things are happening I hear my doors lock, and unlock. Finally, I lose my power steering, and power brakes, like what would happen if the car has stalled. However, it is still running. Recently, after losing the power steering and brakes, I stopped and with the car still running, I could not put up my windows.

Driving my Jeep to work and a bunch of warning lights come on - air bag, power steering, camera, front collision detection, abs system, parking brake, etc. I also lose power steering. Mechanic cannot find cause and all modules appear to be working - codes clear and return after about 30 miles of driving. Car isn't safe to drive and has been in the shop for 11 weeks with no answers. It is about to come back to sit in my driveway - and I will have to continue to make payments on a car that isn't drivable and may never be again. Since electrical issues seem to be prevalent with the vehicle - there should be a recall to protect driver safety.
1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the primary components that failed in my 2018 Jeep Renegade, equipped with a 2. 4l engine, include the electrical system and the fuel pump assembly. The vehicle has randomly reset its electrical equipment by morning and has turned off while driving, which stiffened the steering wheel without warning. These components should be available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? my safety and the safety of others were put at significant risk numerous times. The vehicle has randomly turned off while driving, causing the steering wheel to stiffen without any warning. This sudden loss of power and control in traffic is extremely dangerous and could easily lead to accidents. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes, the problem has been reproduced and confirmed by both a dealer and an independent service center. The dealers identified issues with the electrical system resetting and the engine turning off unexpectedly, but solutions have been inconsistent. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? yes, the vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer and the dealership. The manufacturer has been notified of these issues, and the dealership performed diagnostic tests, but the problem persists despite their interventions. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no, there were no warning lamps or messages prior to the failures. The electrical system would reset by morning without any prior indication, and the vehicle would turn off while driving with no warning signs. These issues have occurred intermittently since I purchased the vehicle, putting me in dangerous situations multiple times.

While driving in a snowstorm, with 4 wheel drive engaged, the vehicle started swerving, and fish tailing. I was in town and going slow(20 mph). The dash flashed some messages, and the default kicked in so front wheel drive resumed and stability also. The main message was esc-emergency stability control, plus two others. I called a mechanic in the morning, who suggested the computer might reset. I turned the vehicle on, but the message stayed. I decided to go to the mechanic’s shop, but after two left turns I heard a “growling” sound and the computer did reset. It has been okay since.
The contact owned a 2021 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph around a curve, the steering wheel went straight, and she attempted to correct it. The lane departure warning with lane keep assist engaged and began to beep and took control of the vehicle. The vehicle fishtailed, crossed the lane, the driver lost control, and crashed into a ditch. The vehicle flipped on its side. The driver-side and passenger-side air bags were deployed. The driver was wearing a seat belt, but her head smashed through the passenger side window. The driver sustained a concussion, and medical attention was provided. There was no reported fire. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company.
My vehicle recently started showing warning/service lights for no reason; airbag, power steering, park lights, coolant, check engine etc. My engine would also keeps running even after removing the keys. . My battery would also be dead the next day (new battery) if battery is not disconnected . Power door locks , also stops working via fob and manual. While driving the power steering would also stops working (very dangerous) as this will prevent you from turning and can cause collision. Engine will start but dies after 5 seconds. I have looked online in Jeep forums and this problems appears to be related to ignition switch. The problems the car is having is very identical to those Renegade owners posted on line. Other Renegade owners got the ignition switch replaced and fixed the problem. As of now, there is no recall for this particular issue but should be investigated. I will be taking my car for recalls and also to include this problem to get fixed. This is a safety matter as it could cause fatality.
When driving at any speed, vehicle (2022 Jeep Renegade altitude with 10,000 miles); intermittently jerks about 4-5" to the left or right on the road-like someone is jerking the steering wheel . Complained to dealer and they checked it over and said the vehicle is ok- its not ok- help! hapends all the time!.

Vehicle shuts off while driving as well as taking turns. Just shuts off with no warning. After it shuts off the lightning bolt in parentheses (electronic throttle control system) comes on, then goes away. Car shows as still running, but won't move. The low oil gauge comes on and then car stops moving. Very unsafe for vehicle to just "stop moving" or "shut off" in the middle of driving, or in the middle of an intersection. When this happens, I have to put the car in park, turn it off and then start it again. It usually takes several attempts to get it to start. It happens when I’m going at a slow rate of speed.
While driving on a busy freeway the car started violently jerking to the left. I slowed and moved to the right lane as the jerking became more and more frequent. By the time I made it to the next exit the car had become difficult to control. As I took the next exit the power steering failed completely. I've had the car to the dealership and a second mechanic. Both say it is a failure of the electronic control unit and the steering column needs to be replaced. I barely managed to get the car off the freeway. I hate to think what could have happened had this occurred on a twisty road rather then a fairly straight stretch of freeway. I had no warning. First indication of the problem was the car jerking to the left. Warning lights didn't come on till power steering failed about a mile down the road.
September 1, 2021 zacnjcbb8mpm20623 I purchased this vehicle on or about August 17, 2021 upon delivery but after completion of paperwork, the transport agent conveyed that the vehicle had 'quick steer". He tried to explain that the car just steers or drives on its own. Very bad weather, I didn't risk driving it. I had the opportunity to drive it and the steering wheel becomes self operating, the brakes respond and during driving the vehicle literally stops responding to manual driving. Both the steering wheel and brakes are automatically generated. In upper left corner of dash a directional turns red to green. There is no indication of why or how. It's dangerous and can lead to death by car accident. I presented the dealership with concerns, too.
I was driving in right lane,40-45mph, heard a very loud bang (not a tire), front end of Jeep lifted up, then began veering to the right heading off the road. I was unable to break or turn steering. Next thing, I woke up from being knocked out, hit a pole, 3 witnesses heard the bang as well - one witness told police, all 3 air bags went off. Emergency services were summoned. Car totaled. Pole is still standing upright. Fortunately I did not die or get seriously injured. Emergency services said if I had hit the tree next to pole, the outcome of my injuries would have been totally different. Car was towed to auto repair center and they had never seen collision damage such as this. Insurance company notified. Police report made at time of accident. No driver citations. A few days later I contacted Jeep company, told them they needed to send someone out to look at this damage, because someone is going to die! they had a third party come out to the collision repair shop and get black box information/examined vehicle. A few days later, I received a carefully worded letter from Jeep that they saw no suspension or steering issues to be the reason for the accident. Only the bang, vehicle uplift on right side, hitting pole. No warning lights were on. This car was purchased new in 2/2018. I just hit the 30,000 miles, new tires on vehicle for 3 months and had only 2,000 miles of usage on them. The vehicle was in excellent condition and always maintained 100%. Even the farmer's insurance inspector stated car was in showroom condition. Rim broke in half along inner seam, no blowout evidence, tie rod broke in half, ball joint shaft inside of the knuckle (broke inside of it), pivot still in lower control arm. Have photos/police report/pics. No other vehicles involved. Husband had to help tow truck driver slide the suspension under vehicle to tow it. I can send upon request insurance company docs and letter from Jeep upon request.
When I am driving on the road the vehicle turns off and does not turn on and send an electric power stering alert this happens since I purchased the vehicle used at a Jeep certified dealer in florida and I have driven it several times and they tell me that it has no problems.
My electrical power steering module is experiencing technical issues and my steering wheel locked while driving 55 mph on the highway.
States "parking light" is out and it is and I cannot replace it. It also shakes when I get up to 70 mph.
Car will not start. Been having problems for the last 2 years since I bought it. Unreliable. Electricity goes on and off randomly, sun roof wont open, lock button stick, power seat not working.
The airbag system warning light and the power steering warning intermittently go on and physical loss of power steering is felt. This happens both while at idle stationary and driving in traffic on both highway and city.

I purchased this vehicle March 2020 and was told that it was new ("a left over"). We thought it was used as a demo by sales. As soon as I got it the brakes started to grind. The salesperson told us after signing all paperwork that sometimes the emergency light comes on while driving. There is something with the rotors and ig burton in symnra, delaware advised without proper repair it was safe to drive several times. Now without touching any controls the miles changed to km and the heating system changed as well. When traveling down the road we noted the brakes and with the mileage I saw it as soon as I started it up.
Radio screen turns on off freezing doesn't connect and switched into kilometers (still waiting for replacement) codes. Popping up nothing was fixed by dealership just cleared codes. Engine when driving seems like it has hard time picking up and. Shifting into next gear making a jerking motion happening at random times dealership updated pcm and tcm still does it. Blows threw oil fast dealership says its normal for a 2018 Jeep Renegade makes a ticking sound seems like fan comes on alot more. Would randomly smell burning of plastic addressed with dealership (no fix).
Went to mavis tires for a tire rotation 1/28/20 after leaving the Chrysler/Jeep dealership for transmission fluid change told 9 speed sealed never needs anything . The guys at mavis said that my lug bolts were swollen and that they could not do the work and that I needed to go to the dealership and have them replaced because only Chrysler / Jeep make the part. My Jeep has only 49,800 miles and the mavis guys told me that I needed lug replacements back in November 2019 , I have owned many cars and trucks in the past and never had to replace lugs bolts on a vehicle with such low miles on it . They checked it both stationary and in motion to make sure they are on properly the guys at mavis also told me when I requested an alignment that they tested drove it first and told me it didn't need one but I felt it roll more to the right that was in 8/2019 so now with four new tires first in 8/20219 for two then 10/2019 which is why I felt it was time to rotate the tires but couldn't get this done due to the swelled up lug bolts on all four tires.
I lost the ability to steer my car. I was driving home from work, going the posted speed limit, 50 mph, then all of a sudden I couldn't steer my car, I nearly had an accident, I stopped the car, turned off the ignition, started it back up and it would steer again.
Bought my car brand new, after one month it started shutting off randomly. While driving on the highway the engine shut off completely. "shift gear to p appeared on my dash". I had to turn on and off multiple times before it would turn on again and occur over and over again. Got the car towed to the dealership who told me it was completely normal and that I should be checking my oil every time I get gas. Said all I needed was an oil change. Did not have any concern for the dangerous occurrence I was in on the highway.
I was at a restaurant eating breakfast, after I was done I came out to crank my car and it would turn over but would not start up. The dashboard was stating that I needed esc service, then it said I need airbag service, steering service. I could not turn my steering wheel and my brakes would not push on to start my car. Then the throttle light came on. I had to get it towed.
While driving my radio and headlights will start to surge then immediately after, the steering wheel will jerk out of my hands preventing me from turning the wheel in any direction (locks up). If I don't immediately park the car, the car will shut off on then a bunch of warnings will pop up on the dashboard then dynamic power steering warning with flash. I have to wait 10 minutes at least before being able to restart the car. This has happened every single time I drive the car. This has happened multiple times at red lights, turning into traffic, on the highway going 75mph and/or 30mph.
Car looses power steering and power and does not shut off and air bags are not on while driving.
The vehicle loses fuel pressure and burns oil when there is no present oil leak. The vehicle shuts off while in drive causing the wheel to lock.
Steering wheel locks while driving; vehicle will not turn off after key is removed body controls module.
Sunday, 2 Jun 2019 @ approximately 1900 me and my friend were returning home from fishing, going approximately 30 mph on a light gravel road inside a wildlife state preserve. While make starting to make a right turn, my steering wheel locked up on me which make it impossible to turn. I slammed the brakes and was able to free the steering wheel in time to turn hard right causing the vehicle to slide and coming to a stop inches before going into the river. My car was hanging off the bank with the possibility of rolling over into the river, my friend and I had to exit out of the passenger door for the fear of a possible rollover. I was unable to see any warning lights (hill assist, abs warning, etc) as everything happened very fast. I currently have a accident claim in with my insurance and the Jeep did sustain damage to the driver front tire. I will not know the results until tomorrow or the next day but from the initial look, it appears that my power steering fuild is leaking out and onto my axle and rotor. At this time it is unclear if this issue was caused before or after the impact into the river bank. After the toll truck pulled me out I was able to drive back home however I was hearing a flipping noise coming from my driver front tire. I am now very uncomfortable with driving this vehicle, as this incident could have caused serious bodily harm. Pictures will be uploaded later as I had lost my phone in the river a d have not received them from my friend yet.
Car only has 4000 miles ( still like new). Once incident I had was trying to make a turn I slowed down then when attempting to accelerate the car wouldnt go . I had to pull over and completely turn off the vehicle. Has happen 3 times in less than one week. Ive made several attempts to contact dealer and service dept, but no call backs.
My stalled 3 times in 2 weeks. Twice I was slowing to take a turn-this happened a week apart in the same exact turn. Twice I was driving about 20 mph. This happened on 4-21-19, 4-27-19 and 4-30-19. I have approx 5200 miles. I called Chrysler and they said there were no recalls, that I probably do not need an oil change (she checked on this information). When the light goes on or 7-8,000 miles I should schedule one. No dash indicator lights come on. Each time I am able to guide my car out of traffic. I shut off radio, wipers and all electrical and after I hit to restart it sounds like it is really trying, but it eventually does start. I stalled this morning (5-1-19) and I was almost rear ended as it was so sudden. The car behind me had to swerve. I put on my hazards. I called Chrysler corporate because my dad hears something about the 2. 4l engine being recalled. Chrsyler corporate told me to bring it to the dealer and either way should be covered (warranty or added to recall). The dealer had no record of recalls and said I needed an oil change. That is ridiculous that needing an oil change could be such a dangerous thing. I find that hard to believe. I have had this Jeep since oct 2018. I am very scared now. I commute to boston in the tunnels and on the tobin bridge during busy rush hour. So disappointed these dangerous problems are happening - and so soon after purchasing. My customer care # from my call into Chrysler (fca - fiat Chrysler automobiles), which they closed even though it wasn't resolved, is 57585393. Called them 4-30-19 also, sometimes when I turn my wheel to take a sharp turn a bell dings one. It has happened about 6 times since owning.
When turning on a snow covered road, slightly up hill, from a county highway into a driveway and experiencing slight wheel spin, the vehicle lost 4-wheel drive and power steering. The esc system became disabled and error codes "service hill start assist", "service esc system" and "dynamic steering torque service required" were displayed as a message on the instrument panel screen and the esc disabled light was turned on. This caused momentary loss of vehicle control.
Not running right.
