The component that failed, or I think is failing is the forward collision warning thing on my car. If the component actually went off, I could have cause a multiple car crash depended on who was behind me while I was driving. It has been reproduced by multiple drivers based on my research. The vehicle component has been inspected by police, lemon law firms and manufacturers and confirmed that it is an issue. No warning lamps or messages appeared, it came up multiple times randomly while I was driving, and has almost triggered every time. When I first opened the car it was fine, but I'd say about a year ago it showed up.

When driving we can be a football field distance away from any moving vehicle and then forward collision safety feature activates. This has happened several times and could have ended badly if someone was behind us in traffic.

The car will all of a sudden have light started flashing and then it will stop going.
Random warning messages and lights. Power steering fails, as does the power brakes. Usually, as I'm driving, it begins with airbag warning message. Then, the warning messages increase: front collision, lane departure, blind spot, brake, power steering. While all of these things are happening I hear my doors lock, and unlock. Finally, I lose my power steering, and power brakes, like what would happen if the car has stalled. However, it is still running. Recently, after losing the power steering and brakes, I stopped and with the car still running, I could not put up my windows.

All of my warning/service lights came on, my car wouldn’t accelerate, one of the warning lights said it had to be in stop to brake and start, my dash won’t light up which shows my fuel levels, other info. My car stopped in traffic completely, I had you out my four ways on, hit the start/stop button. It was so scary!.
I will be driving and at times the forward collision warning has come on when driving past a vehicle in the turn lane.
I have a 2023 Renegade 4x4. There are several current operating issues and a few which cause an extreme safety hazard: service forward collision warning light is on says brake lights out says left turn signal is out parking light out driver seatbelt light passenger seatbelt light push to start button - stop/start unavailable parking brake airbag light car turned off when foot idle and parking brake activated car jolts when foot is taken off of accelerator pedal at 45+mph car enters into forward collision prevention mode with there is not a vehicle in front. If the vehicle believes the seatbelts are not worn and there are issues with the airbag sensors then there is an extreme safety issue in the event of a collision.
Part number 68536883aa has failed and forward collision system is inop. 1st event was November in arkansas dealer told my wife to wash the vehicle and it would clear the fault. It reset itself before she washed it. Although, washing has nothing to do with the problem. It failed again and brought it to the dealer in flagler beach FL. The part was ordered 12/1/2022 on backorder since. By speaking with another dealer there are 155 backordered in the us. I have reached out to Jeep and they have not returned my call. I did receive an email saying they are working on it.

I purchased the vehicle at 15 miles and about 2 months after purchase while driving, the front collision warning light came on and there was no reason why the light came on. I took it to the draler and was told it will take some time to find out the problems, needed to leave my car and would not providr a loaner or rental. 6 days go, the seatbelt sign, emergency brake, parking break, airbag, and automatic break light all turn on when I start the vehicle. However yesterday as I was driving, all the lights turned on. The seatbelt sound also turns on even though I am wearing my seatbelt. Im afraid the brakes will stop working or the airbag will detonate. I pulled over to turn off the car and start it with hopes the lights turn off. Sometimes it works and others it does not.
The “forward collision warning” system failed while actively driving on the highway. The vehicle has less than 200 miles on the odometer. The vehicle has been checked into service for a possible failed module.
On Feb. 6. 2022 there was another car in front of me and the forward collision warning went off and warned of someone immediatly stopping in front of me as the red stop warning came across the dash like it has in the past in then failed and then the service light came on along with 4x4 failure notice and everything else I took it to Mazda instead of Jeep because they advised they have a 2 week backlog of issues and cannot get a rental care nor a valid eta on fixing vehicle. Mazda found out there was a bent tie rod which resulted in me spending $4,000 to get fixed and they still had to refer me to Jeep for the forward collision system to be serviced but still they have no rental or replacement car for me to drive it has now been over a month and many complaints with fca stellantis complaint 16736974filed with:bbbdate filed:2/6/2022 still no repsonse for reimbursment and also called Jeep case manager and they denied to help me any further since I cannot take it to Jeep however I have written notice that Mazda is a certified repair center but to date this issue has not been addressed and my forward collision service light is still on and no one is willing to help me unless I take it to Jeep and drop off my car and miss work for days or weeks on end since no rental cars are available and Jeep wave will not reimburse me either which goes against what I was shown when purchasing this vehilce I do not feel safe but have been unable to get help and was advised to submit a complaint with NHTSA. Please call me so I can email the documents to you shawndellafave@gmail. Com 330-641-3257 thank you. This is safety concern that I want them to address but they are unwilling to work with me since this is my only vehicle. No one to date has ever called me. All I want is to be reimbursed for a part I should not have had to buy.
My car stalled in traffic causing an risk for accidents. I couldn't steer the vehicle. There were numerous things going off in the car that prevented the mobility of the vehicle.
The vehicle in front of me was at least one car length ahead of me as I was driving around 15 mph when the forward collision detection activated my automatic brakes and jerked me forward in the seat, almost causing whiplash. There was no reason for the detector to go off.
On Sunday 1/17/21, I leased a car from the dealer listed above. I leased a 2021 fully loaded Jeep Renegade even after the horrible treatment from the rude impersonal salesperson - after only two days of having the car, we got begin having issue with it, the warning light on the dash that said, "stereo system unavailable". This malfunction caused all safety features to turn off as well as the special kenwood sound system that we paid extra for as a part of the luxury group add on. I looked into the issue myself and it stated that it had been going on in this car since the 2018 model. Since then, it has happened on and off daily. That Monday morning, we call the dealer and get an appointment for Tuesday morning. Tuesday morning, we drive in and leave the car there. They call back in the afternoon and tell us that there is no problem with the car, and they cannot replicate the problem- at this point we had opened a case with corporate. Later in the evening we get a call to come and get the car, we stated we did not want to pick up the car because it happens every morning and to keep the car overnight and try again tomorrow morning (Wednesday Feb. 27). We get a call from corporate that they are opening a case and they would also call us back on Wednesday. I get a call from the case manager explaining that this is a problem with all Jeep Renegades and that if we want a loner, I'll need to rent a car and get reimbursed by Chrysler. The safety features are disabled because of this malfunction! this is dangerous and unprofessional for a company of their caliber not only for our family but also for everyone buying these vehicles. If they will try and get over on us for this - what else will they try to take advantage of? as now we need to wait for an update (which I think it is only a tactic for losing time) for next quarter until they update their software on the car.
When am driving at 40 mph my car pulls when I let go of the gas or when I step on the gas. It also pulls at higher or lower speeds. It's not always at 40 mph. Also when am in driving my forward collision warning turns off just for no reason and on the dash it says it's turned off. Stays turned off for at least 1 min or 2. I have taken the vehicle for inspection but they can't seem to find where the problem presistes from.
