Front Suspension problems of the 2003 Jeep Wrangler

Four problems related to front suspension have been reported for the 2003 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Suspension problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2011

I have been getting the famous Jeep Wrangler "death wobble" when I bring our 03 Wrangler to 55 mph on the highway. Today, was very severe and almost caused a serious accident. Dealer claimed to have fixed the problem, but it has reappeared.

2 Front Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2007

The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Wrangler. While driving 45 mph, the frontend of the vehicle began to vibrate. The failure occurred when the contact depressed the brake pedal while traveling downhill. The failure continues to persist until the vehicle decelerates to approximately 10 mph. The dealer installed a heavy duty steering dampener on the vehicle. There have been no other failures since the replacement. The current and failure mileages were 48,000.

3 Front Suspension problem

Failure Date: 05/25/2006

"death wobble". On an inconsistent basis the front end begins to shake and wobble uncontrollably at speeds over 50 mph. It feels as though one of the front tires is about to fall off the vehicle. The only way to get it to stop shaking is to pull off highway and slow down below 30 mph. Dealer replaced steering damper but did not correct problem. Vehicle is now at a 4wd suspension specialist who has heard of this problem many times but over the past week cannot identify the specific problem.

4 Front Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2003

While driving on uneven surface at any speed vehicle would shake from the front suspension. Dealer has been contacted.
