Equipment problem #1

The contact owns a quadratec q-performance stealth series winch mounted on a 2006 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while using the winch to pull a vehicle out of a ditch, the winch engaged independently and started to smoke, and the cable was also smoking. The contact was able to stop the winch and discontinued use. The contact researched and related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 20e067000 (equipment). The manufacturer was contacted, but the contact was having difficulty in having the recall addressed. The manufacturer was called, and a voicemail was recorded, and an email was also sent. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The winch had not been used since the failure. The VIN was not provided.

Equipment problem #2

I get the death shake. The first time was in 2015 and I had it fixed. I have it again, started in July 2017. It is so dangerous. I literally have to stop my Jeep to make it stop. It is usually when I am driving between 50 - 55 mph. It is awful.

Equipment problem #3

I called mcdonald Chrysler in clare michigan(624 w. 5th st. , clare michigan 48617, 1-989-386-7779) I called them about 6-7 months ago when I first got my first recall notice in the mail and they told me that they had the part so I scheduled an appointment with them and when I got there they told me that this was the first that they had head of this recall and said that they would have to order the part and would call me when they got the part in. Well on 22 February 2016 I received a 3rd notice and still haven't heard back from them. You would think that with this being a safety recall that they would get off their butts to fix this issue. My recall is about the clutch interlock switch(r13/nhtsa15v-22). I do plan to take my vehicle to a different dealership.

Equipment problem #4

When fueling vehicle fuel spits back all over handle, vehicle and ground. Happens every time fuel is pumped. Design flaw that has been ignored by Chrysler forever. Fix requires fuel tank replacement.

Equipment problem #5

Death wobble!.

Equipment problem #6

I bought a used rhd 2006 Wrangler sport in Nov. 2013 for $18,500. 00. . . . . . . . . And you guys will not fix the gas tank that blows gas out while you are filling it, I lose at least a half a gallon of gas each time I fill it up, and it leaves a huge puddle on the ground and one time someone is going to throw a lit cigarette in it or ignite it is some way and people are going to get hurt. . . . . . . . . . . I am sooooooooooooooooo upset over this, and the reason you won't fix it is because it is a rhd fleet vehicle. . . . . . . It is my regular car, and I drive it everywhere, and if anything happens I will sue you until there is no tomorrow.

Equipment problem #7

Very randomly, the vehicle starts to shimmy violently. Have seen this complaint on several websites. Thankfully we have ben able to slow down and pull off the road. Have been told there is no clear cut resolve to this issue without spending a lot of money because it could be various things. Want to get rid of this vehicle before something tragic happens, but am afraid because of this, will not get what vehicle is worth and someone else might die not knowing the issue. From what I understand, the name for this condition is a "death rattle".

Equipment problem #8

When I fill up with fuel after pump shuts off fuel gushes out on side of Jeep and onto ground.

Equipment problem #9

When filling the gas tank, it spills. Pressure in the tank and/or filler hose builds up and causes the fuel to spray out, prior to the tank reaching a filled condition. This has happened from the first fill-up to present. . . Over a period of 4 years. . . And continues. Seems to be a poor design of angle of the tank fuller hose.

Equipment problem #10

Uncontrollable wobble in front axle/wheels and shaking of steering wheel.

Equipment problem #11

Since my purchase of my 2006 Jeep Wrangler, at the speed between 50 to 60 mph, the front begins to shake uncontrollably. I cannot control the auto - I cannot stear it, I cannot stop the shaking. It is incredibly dangerous. Why are you folks allowed to sell this product to the public? this needs to be recognised by the manufacturing / designering concerns at Jeep. Gentlemen. . . Please be men and take responsibility for this faulty product. You are putting the consumer and others traveling on the roadways in life and death danger. This is America!!!! nothing more needs to be said. You are aware of the problem, now. . . Take care of it.

Equipment problem #12

Our Jeep has had the death wobble since it was bought brand new from the dealership. When reaching approximately 50mph, the vehicle begins to shake/oscillate uncontrollably to where it is difficult to keep the vehicle in its lane. The brakes have to be pressed heavily in order for it to stop and presents a concern for rear end collision. To prevent the wobble from happening, the vehicle has to be driven 30mph below highway speed limit, causing safety concerns. Just earlier, the death wobble happened and we veered into the next lane and almost hit a car. I also sprained my arm once when trying to keep in control of the vehicle when the death wobble happened going down hill.

Equipment problem #13

I have an 06 Jeep Wrangler with the death wobble. This is an ongoing problem. I have replaced my tires three times. I took my Jeep and had three mechanics look it over today, each with the same response, " I don't know what it could be. " I've called Jeep several times, I replaced the steering damper as they recommended. This has been going on for years and I just don't know what else to do.
