16 problems related to vehicle speed control have been reported for the 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The throttle control randomly goes out, while it is easy to reset the sensor, so the vehicle remains driveable, it is dangerous to be driving on the highway or crossing the highway with children in the car and the car goes into limp mode. I was turning on the highway where people are doing 60mph and suddenly mid turn the car goes into limp mode and doesn't want to move while cars come speeding at you.
The 2007 Jeep Wrangler 4 door has seemed to have several complaints regarding violent shaking. This has happened to me several times where the vehicle shakes so violently it feels like you are having a tire blown out. It almost throws you off the road. I was almost in an accident on the highway. I am nervous and do not think this vehicle is safe.
I was driving on the highway, hit a bump in the road while changing lanes. The car started shaking very violently. I has to pull off the road slowing to about 40 mph in order to regain control of the vehicle and stop the shaking. When the shaking starts the entire vehicle shakes so violently it is hard to steer or even focus on the road because you are shaking too. I have had the vehicle in to Jeep dealerships on a number of occasions and they all tell me the suspension is fine. Finally this last time, after complaining of the "death shake" as I have come to research and discover, they were able to put a larger steering dampener on my vehicle than was there in order to control the shaking. I still feel vibrations at expressway speeds but it is not violent shaking anymore. This repair cost over $250.
I recently purchased a product called cellcontrol which is a distracted driving prevention product. When plugging their product into my obd port my car's computer began acting up. After 2 weeks in the shop and replacement of 2 computers in my vehicle it was determined that the cellcontrol device not only cooked my car's electronics but it voided my warranty since I broke the factory installed seal on the obd port in order to plug their device in. I don't believe this product has been adequately tested and may result in accidents since my vehicle at one point would not come out of high gear due to the computer malfunctioning.

2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited 4dr 4x4. At speeds over 50 mph, the front tires begin to shake and wobble violently. The shaking only stopped after I came to a complete stop. This happened after I hit a bumpy road. My Jeep has been a street vehicle and really not going on the highway many times. I only have under 9,000 miles. Now that I live in California, and I have to drive in highways, I feel very uncomfortable driving speeds over 50 miles per hour.
Severe wobble in front end where control of vehicle is hard to maintain. It began intermittently and briefly and now is repetitive and sustained. My Wrangler is now being evaluated for the fourth time and needs a steering dampener replaced (which was the recall) along with replacing upper and lower ball joints. Chrysler reportedly had 4,000 of these vehicles recalled under service bulletin number: csn-j34 with this same issue. My vehicle is not included in the recall. This vehicle and others like it is going to kill someone. The front end of the vehicle violently shakes/wobbles at normal highway speeds. I was told by the dealer that this was a "known engineering flaw".
Uncontrollable shaking vibrating loss of steering. . . . . Death wobble till stopped and pulled over Jeep has serviced it 3x and acting like im crazy replaced stabilizer bar and dampener only help for few weeks im afraid to drive and can not afford another car it has 30000 miles stock everything and no off roading ever.
Intermittent problem occuring almost exclusively at highway speeds. While driving at highway speeds suddenly, without warning, the vehicle shuts off. All warning lights on the dash board appear, engine completely shuts off which leads to power steering failure and loss of safe control of the vehicle. While the engine shut off is intermittent and does not last for more than a few seconds before it turns back on without use of the key or any other means of manually restarting the vehicle, it is highly unsafe and can lead to severe injury or death. We have noted this issue occuring approximately 1-2 times per month. We finally took the vehicle to the dealership to service and locate the issue with the vehicle on October 20, 2011. The dealership stated they could not find any issues with the vehicle, with the exception of unusally high oil consumption. The dealership advised we do an oil consumption test which will be completed in 3000 miles or 3 months.
My Jeep Wrangler 2007 shakes so violently that I can no longer drive it. I am afraid that I may kill someone or my self or my kid. It is the scariest thing ever. At three (3) different occasions I almost crash. I heard so many Jeep owners have the same problem, so why Chrysler are not doing something about this serious promble? they tried to tell me its front end or a tire issue. I have changed my steering damper, my stablelizer bar and bushings. Had it alligned and bought new tires and balance. Problem still exist. The vehicle has been towed back to the dealer as of this morning. And they are trying to stick me with a bill for any repairs done to rectify this wobbling issue. I do not think that I, the consumer should have to pay anything for this manufacture defect. $40, 000. 00 is not cheap, they made a killing from me and now that I have six months left, nobody wants to assist or do the right thing. I love my Wrangler. Always dream about owning one since high school. I hoping you can do something about this issue. I have no extra money lying around. Please help 1 luv rasta.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. On December 23, 2008, while driving 35 mph, the vehicle went out of control and would only steer to the right. The vehicle then began to accelerate and the stabilizer system activated on its own. The vehicle switched into two wheel drive. The contact depressed the brakes and pulled the wheel in an attempt to stabilize the vehicle. The vehicle proceeded into the left lane and was pulled to the side of the road and shut off. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and they found no failures. The dealer turned off the electronic stability control. The current and failure mileages were 23,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. While driving 75 mph, the vehicle began to fishtail. The contact released the accelerator pedal in order to regain control of the vehicle. He stated that he would schedule an appointment with the dealer. The current and failure mileages were 5,000.
While driving 55 mph my 2007 Jeep rubicon ul quickly slowed to about 30 mph. I was still pressing the gas pedal with no response. The vehicle felt like the esp was on, and swerved a little. The red lightning bolt light came on the dash and flashed. This happened once before, and me dealer looked at me Jeep and said there was no problem. This is certainly a problem for me. I had a fully loaded log truck behind me when the Jeep slowed, and was lucky that he was able to avoid crushing me. I pulled off the road, shut down the ignition and restarted. The light went off and the Jeep ran normally.
Stalling problem. Occurred 3 times approximately 2-3 months apart. Separate situations: 1) February 2007. Accelerating through intersection at 40-45 mph engine cut out. All lights on dash illuminated. Loss of power for 2-3 seconds, then engine restarted and all power resumed. April 2007. Sitting at stop light, normal idle at 600 rpms, without warning, engine just shut off. Had to neutral and restart engine. Took to dealer and they applied pcm flash updates per service bulletin) June 2007. Crawling traffic speed of 10-15 mph and all lights came on dash and engine died. Engine did not misfire and started to loose accelerating and power steering and brakes. Had to put in neutral to restart engine. Pending appointment with dealer at this time.
More then one occasion while driving at different speeds and shut off. Conditions the vehicle shut off, all warning/ dashboard lights came on. , as wll as the electrical system shut off. Stepped on gas pedal and the vehicle e did no respond. 3this 0 seconds later the vehicle fired back up and was fine. Occured 3 or 4 times in a 9000 mile time period.
