Six problems related to front suspension stabilizer bar have been reported for the 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I own a 2008 Jeep Wrangler that has been experiencing the 'death wobble' more frequently. The cause for concern first happened (2) years ago after hitting a pothole on the highway. I took it in for inspection and maintenance. The mechanic told me it was a loose steering stabilizer bar. About a year or so after the repair, my Wrangler has been experiencing the 'death wobble' more frequently. It seems to happen when I'm driving on the interstate and hit some significant bump or pothole. I have to slow down to roughly 40 mph for the violent shaking to stop. Then, I can accelerate back to normal speed. It can be real dangerous when other people are close behind me and I'm forced to apply the brakes to drop my speed by roughly 30 mph. I don't have the money to keep taking the Wrangler in for more repairs, especially one that seems to happen periodically. Thoughts?.

Driving a rental Jeep in kauai, hit a small bump in road - the Jeep went into a violent shimmy - would not stop until the vehicle came to a complete stop - then it behaved normal - this happened about 2 times on the 3rd day of the rental period and another 5 times over the 8 day rental period - should have requested a new Jeep the first time it happened - the last day it happened 3 times on the way to the airport - my wife and kids were extremely upset - lost control of vehicle and almost was in a head on collision - ended up parking on the side of the road and called a taxi - I understand this is a common problem in Jeeps - someone is going to get killed if Jeep does not figure out what is going on and how to fix this problem -.
