The passenger seatbelt locking mechanism is stuck and won't release, rendering the seatbelt unusable. When attempting to release the seatbelt, it locks and tightens, potentially choking the passenger. The dealership is unwilling to fix the issue for less than $1000.
******* tipm issues *******while driving 70mph down interstate the Jeep lost all power and control abilities and came to a screeching halt in the middle of the interstate. I immediately tried to start up and was like it had a dead battery. Cars were swerving and blowing like crazy trying to avoid me and not wreck. Once traffic was somewhat stable I got out to push Jeep off to side of interstate and a another motorist stopped to help. My passenger was hurt from the sudden stop when her knees went into the dash. The seat belt did not restrain her resulting in her left knee getting bruised and her right knee got a cut. I have since researched this issue and have found this to be a very common and serious issue with these models. We are both lucky to be alive from this being that several vehicles nearly hit us as well as almost hitting others. There needs to be a warning addressed to all owners as this being a potential wreck less condition. I would like someone from Chrysler or the highway safety council contact me at cgodwin52@gmail. Com.
When you try to take off your seat belt it is stuck and wont release. No matter what you do. You have to rip it out.
