58 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 05/05/2014

I have a lhd Jeep Wrangler unlimited sport. It is a 2010 and the issue that is occuring is the clockspring has gone bad. The light came on for the air bag in about may and once I saw how much it was to fix it I just decided to deal with the annoying beep. After researching Jeep forums, I've seen that Chrysler corp has been pretty negligent in addressing the issue by saying the recall only applies for rhd vehicles. If you're having numerous reports of a problem but in a lhd vehicle why wouldn't you own up to it? I'm not sure if people need to die in an accident before they own up to it or what but its pretty ridiculous.

59 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/30/2014

Driving on side road made left turn and heard audible chime like seat belt warning. Looked at dash and see airbag warning lit up. Take to dealer as well as seek information on internet. Find multiple issues for clock spring signal failure. There is only a TSB issued for the right hand drive Wranglers from 2007-2011. The part # is identical for right and left hand drive vehicles. How can the recall only affect the rhd? 5440 cars were subject to recall. How many lhd Wranglers are there? I now have to pay $500 +++ to have a repair done that must be done by a dealer. This needs equal treatment to Chrysler recall m31.

60 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/26/2014

The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the air bag illuminated intermittently while in the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. There was a recall under NHTSA campaign id number 13v176000(air bags); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 36,500.

61 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 02/19/2014

During the month of 2/2014, the air bag warning chime and light began to go off intermittently. Due to the safety concerns, we took our vehicle in and learned that it was a bad clock spring. We paid to have it fixed, but upon research learned that the same exact part had been recalled in rhd vehicles (for our vehicle year) only. Would like information as to why lhd vehicles are not part of the recall when so many people are obviously experiencing a safety issue also.

62 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2013

Broken "clock spring" in steering column making the airbag unsafe.

63 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2012

Intermittent lighting of abs/airbag. Horn no longer works.
