One problem related to brake drum wheel cylinder has been reported for the 2010 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving vehicle at approx 45mph in the rh lane approaching an intersection with an illuminated green right-turn arrow(my lane), a vehicle in the same lane, traveling same direction, suddenly stopped at the green light at the intersection. I immediately applied hard presssure to brake pedal, only to have it slam straight to the floor-board with very little braking action. I was able to quickly down-shift and apply parking brake in time to avoid collision with stopped vehicle. I carefully drove vehicle to my home, approx 3 miles from incident intersection. Upon inspection I noted brake master-cylinder empty (it was topped-off to "max" line when checked evening prior), and hydraulic fluid sprayed all-around right (passenger)-side front inner wheel and puddled/dripping at banjo-bolt. You-tube research found a similar situation with a Jeep 2 model years older than mine. . Read more...
