Steering Column problems of the 2010 Jeep Wrangler

Three problems related to steering column have been reported for the 2010 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 06/29/2015

The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. While driving approximately 45 mph, the steering wheel seized without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the steering column fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 54,500.

2 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 02/20/2011

I was driving and ask of a sudden my airbag light came on. I could hear a clank/clunk in steering column. Also horn nor cruise control would work. Dealership replaced the clockspring the next day. No reason why. Just stated they go out. Mine went out at 20xxx miles!!! no recall!!.

3 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 05/31/2010

The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. While driving at approximately 10 mph, the contact heard a rattle from the steering column. Upon examining the steering column, the contact noticed a bolt under the steering wheel was loose. The contact also stated that the bolt which mounted the driver side seat belt to the seat popped out when buckling the seat belt. The vehicle had not been inspected at the time of the complaint. The failure and current mileages were 680.
