One problem related to tank filler pipe and cap has been reported for the 2010 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Jeep Wrangler was 3 days old with 713 miles on it. On July 24th after driving 130 miles from foxboro to rochester nh, about 4:15 pm, I pulled into a shell station to fuel the vehicle up. My 3 year old and 6 year old were in the back seat. As I was filling the vehicle someone ran over and pointed to the underside where a large volume of fluid was spilling. It was gasoline coming from the fuel tank. It was pouring onto the very hot exhaust pipe and vaporizing. I notified Chrysler Monday morning of the severity of the safety failure and received complaint number 19760031. I contacted the service center at the dealer requesting that the failed tank be evaluated and not tampered with. He indicated that it was clear there was a manufacturing defect in a bond joint in the fuel tank.
