Transmission Gear Slipping problems of the 2010 Jeep Wrangler

Two problems related to transmission gear slipping have been reported for the 2010 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 11/19/2017

1) doors are supposed to lock when vehicle gets to a certain speed but the driver side no longer locks automatically. 2) while vehicle was in park, the automatic gear slipped into drive and smashed into a wall and totally shut down. The Jeep had to be towed to the dealer as the automatic gear shift would not move and the Jeep would not start. The Jeep has been in the repair shop for 3 days and the dealership has not been able to determine what is wrong with the Jeep.

2 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 08/31/2011

Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. The contact was driving 10 mph when the transmission slipped from first gear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance and referred the contact back to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 7,400 and current mileage was 7,800. Kmj.
