Two problems related to brakes failed have been reported for the 2012 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Date of occurrence: 10/30/2015 after several minutes unattended, the parking brake spontaneously failed. The vehicle rolled down the driveway, coming to rest after hitting a tree in the neighbor's yard. The local police were notified; no report filed due to the only private property involved. Injuries to the owner when trying to catch the vehicle include, but not limited severe facial trauma and loss of consciousness, dislocated left shoulder requiring surgery, broken 4th and 5th ribs, broken bone in left hand.
Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the brake pedal was applied up hill and it rolled backwards with no warning. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic who inspected that the four brakes failed and the emergency brakes failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was to be further diagnosed by the mechanic to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 37,000. Dyd.
