Ignition Switch problems of the 2013 Jeep Wrangler

1 Ignition Switch problem

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. While parking the vehicle, the contact removed the key from the ignition, but the vehicle kept running. The contact disconnected the cables from the battery to finally stop the engine from running. The vehicle was reconnected to the battery and the contact drove home. When the contact attempted to park the vehicle, the failure recurred; however, the vehicle kept running even with the cables unhooked. The contact had to pull fuse numbers 10 and 12 before the vehicle finally shut off. All american Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram fiat of san angelo (4310 sherwood way, san angelo, TX 76901, (866) 575-2743) stated that the failure may be due to the ignition switch. The dealer stated that there were no recalls for the ignition switch and advised the contact to bring in the vehicle. An independent mechanic was contacted and suggested to bring a new ignition switch in; however, the failure recurred. The contact researched the failure online and found that the failure was occurring on numerous occasions. The failure mileage was 96,100.
