1 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2026

2013 Jeep Wrangler. Abs module internal failure code c2200. 3 lights are constantly lit on the dashboard. No abs on this Jeep, making it unsafe in the rain and snow. No way to have this part repaired anymore, nor does the dealership offer it. Shameful and shocking that mopar isn't dealing with this problem. Many, many Jeep owners are dealing with this problem. When will we see a recall??.

2 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/04/2026

C2200 abs control module internal failure. Anti lock brake, traction control stop working. Vehicle can go into limp mode and not be drivable. Apparently due to safety concerns replacment parts are not produced by the manufacturer. This causing the vehilce to not be driven safely.

3 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/05/2026

I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler with 180,000 miles. I never off road the vehicle, but after driving on a dirt road, the stability control kicked in during a turn. At the start of the next drive after that, there were 3 lights on the dashboard: brake, abs, stability control. Connecting the jscan app to the vehicle, the abs module is completely unresponsive and the vehicle gives a c2200 error code. There were no symptoms of this issue before this event. This vehicle is available to be inspected any time. Lack of abs is a very dangerous safety concern, as neither of my children have ever had to drive a vehicle without abs. After some research, this seems to be a very common problem. After some age and heat cycles, the electronics in the module become weak, and my single use of the stability control apparently is enough to push the weak electronics over the edge and destroy the module. This has been confirmed through several companies who repair these modules, such as [xxx] , who no longer repairs these modules, apparently because the computer chips are no longer made, and I have heard stories about the chip maker going out of business during covid. It was also confirmed by a local Jeep specialist, and the dealer parts department also tells the same story, people have been waiting on this module for over 2 years now. A manufacturer of this size with this many vehicles affected by such a safety issue should step up and commission another chip manufacturer to make these vehicles road worthy again. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

4 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 02/20/2026

The component that failed is the anti-lock braking system (abs) control module in a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. Diagnostic code c2200 (“abs control module internal failure”) was retrieved during a scan, indicating an internal electronic failure within the abs module. The component remains installed in the vehicle and is available for inspection upon request. When the failure occurs, the vehicle’s abs, traction control, and stability control systems become disabled. The dashboard displays warning lights for the abs, traction control, and brake system. While the base braking system continues to function, the loss of these electronic safety systems could increase the risk of reduced vehicle control during emergency braking or low-traction conditions such as wet or slippery roads. The issue has been confirmed through diagnostic scanning by a service center, which produced code c2200 indicating an internal failure of the abs control module. The condition is repeatable: the warning lights appear after approximately 10 minutes of driving, and if the vehicle is turned off and allowed to sit for a period of time (such as overnight), the lights reset but return again after driving. The replacement abs control module is currently extremely difficult to obtain. According to a Jeep dealership parts department, the module is on significant backorder, with hundreds of outstanding orders that were expected to be filled earlier in 2026 but remain unfulfilled. The part is widely reported within the Jeep owner community to be a common failure for this vehicle generation, yet no recall or official remedy has been issued.

5 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2026

I have $80,000 in my Jeep parked in my garage because the abs module failed. Error code c2200. I have taken it to three mechanics; kap motor sports in palmetto FL, afny, and 4 wheel parts in bradenton FL. All have run tests coming back with the same error. We have done two abs bleeds to try and fix the problem. This part should have been recalled years ago. It has been on back order for years and when firkins Jeep in bradenton FL tried to order the part the order was canceled by Jeep. Jeep hasn't recalled it and isn't making it available for their customers who have spent so much money on their Jeeps. At this point a lawsuit needs to be filed and have started that process. This is my daily driver and if my Jeep kills or injures someone due to this abs failure Jeep will be held responsible.

6 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/27/2026

The abs module that controls the antilock braking system is defective for mine and many other Jeeps from 2013-2017. Jeep is no longer manufacturing this part, and essentially this renders the vehicle undriveable. I have sought modules both locally and online, and the experts are telling me that Jeep has not made this part in years. When driving with the bad abs module while trying to search for the new part, my Jeep shut down on the highway twice, and I was forced to pull over the side of the road. This was extremely dangerous. And Jeep is providing no solutions for owners.

7 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2026

The abs control module failed. After checking with the dealer, the part is unavailable unless you agree to pay 4x the price. After further research, blogs, online info, it appears this part is back ordered because of a widespread failure. This is dangerous and should have been recalled. Instead they are releasing small amount of part for the purpose of gouging.

8 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/26/2025

Abs anti lock module stopped working. Vehicle braking system is now compromise. It also send the speed to the transmission, which is causing the erratic drivability.

9 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 08/07/2025

The abs module has failed. The Jeep was not involved in an accident, it is at my house not driveable because Jeep does not have the abs module. The part has been on factory back order with no date of availability. No aftermarket company produces the past. I now have a Jeep that is useless. Jeep should be held accountable for availability of the part.

10 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2025

Abs, dash lights have come on. Brake, abs, traction. When needing to do sudden braking on wet road tires lock up and Jeep slides. When asked a dealer I was told that the abs had an internal fail and that replacements are not aviable. After researching they can not be found or repaired and was told to buy a used replacement. When one was located they said it was no warranty and that it would most likley fail also because they "all fail". Doing an online search this is a wide spread problem and dealers have no fix.

11 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2025

The abs module failed in summer 2025. We took the Jeep to the mechanic who was unable to source a new part. The part has been on backorder now for over a year. We cannot get the Jeep inspected because of the break safety issue. The Jeep has no abs if emergency breaking. Several warning lights are constantly on when operating the Jeep.

12 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2025

Abs module failure and no replacement part available for this vehicle. After researching this issue, it should be a recall based on the highly excessive number of complaints and failures on this part. Has been ongoing for over 4 years and dealership says that Jeep Chrysler is aware of the issue and cannot get the part.

13 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2025

The abs brake module failed, and apparently this is a pretty widespread issue with this module, and it's near impossible to get a replacement. The abs, traction control, and brake light are on, as well as throwing several transmission related check engine codes. The car is undriveable.

14 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2024

My dash lights went crazy while driving. I couldn't get the vehicle into the correct gear ( automatic transmission) I shut off waited then restarted drove home. After having the codes scaned it shows c2200 code ( faulty brake abs module) called dealer they had none to sell or buy and told me no time was given to them when or if it would be available. I asked them what's the solution to using my vehicle safely then park it and don't drive it. . Since then I've found thousands of people just like my situation. How can you build a vehicle and be unable to supply the public with replacement parts to operate as intended and not have a recall or offer a solution to trade off said vehicle. It's definitely a safety issue when a100,000 + owners have the exact same issue and no help in sight.

15 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2024

The abs module for my 2013 Jeep jk unlimited is not functioning anymore and the manufacturer discontinued the abs module and its chip, not allowing repair services to fix them. So I am stuck driving my Jeep with no abs brakes and placing the car at risk of driving.

16 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2024

Abs module failure with no rplacement available to replace or fix. Affecting braking ang driving as well. Transmission stays in lower gears and causing transmission to heat up fluid. Been waiting for dealearship to provide replacment item purchase a year ago 2024.

17 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/11/2024

Abs system has failed and Jeep dealer said the parts are on back order and has been for over a year. Depending on who your speaking to at stellantis they are either re-engineering the part or they are no longer manufacturing it. While my Jeep still drives, there is a major safety concern due the abs and traction control being unavailable. There is a whole thread set up online and this problem is affecting many people. . 18 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/08/2024

While I was attempting to park my Jeep across the street from my grandson's school to pick him up at 3:18, as I proceeded to pull in front of the apron so I could backup to a parking spot. In the process of going forward before I got a chance to put the Jeep in reverse my brakes failed, hitting a parked car in front of me. I had my Jeep towed to old center island auto service. The mechanic removed a defective power brake booster and replaced it with a new one.

19 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/27/2024

The contact owns a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the abs warning light was illuminated, and a message indicating that the brake light bulb had failed was displayed even though the bulb was operable. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the abs module had failed and needed to be replaced; however, the part was not available. The contact stated that the mechanic contacted several dealers and was informed that the part was on backorder or had been discontinued. A local dealer also informed the contact that an eta for the part could be provided, but the part would not be available on the expected date based on past experience. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

20 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2024

Jeep Wranglers 2013 has a abs module issue that mopar is not having this part avaialble for replacement. There has been years of backorder on this module and everywhere you go they tell us the same. Mopar has a backorder on these and it has taken at times 2 to 3 years to get them. There has not been a recall knowing this is a known issue with Jeep all over.

21 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2024

Abs module has gone bad and Jeep Chrysler dealership has told me that they only have nine parts in the nation to replace it and the engineers are not confident in the replaced part, they won’t know when the part would be available and I was also told that if I continue to drive it I could potentially damage other components of the Jeep Wrangler. I was also told by personal mechanic that I shouldn’t drive it as I don’t not have anti lock breaks. .

22 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/17/2022

Car surges at times when braking. Increased brake pressure to stop vehicle causes engine to accelerate rapidly when pressing hard to stop vehicle. Dangerous situation. This has happened numerous times when trying to stop at a traffic signal.

23 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2022

Wednesday may 11th approximately 5pm. Was sunny and dry. Turned out of mcdonalds driveway. All of a sudden my brake pedal went to the floor. There was very slight pressure just before it bottomed out. I was lucky no one was in front of me. I could not stop. No dash lights came on. I coasted to stop at gas station. While I waited for a tow truck I started car to move into a better spot. Using parking brake. I then just started pumping brakes. And all of a sudden pressure came back and brakes worked as normal. I immediately towed Jeep to dealership. They could not recreate the issue. Everything works fine.

24 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 10/26/2021

I own a 2013 Wrangler unlimited. Since new, the parking brake has been ever-more-difficult to engage. On October 26, I was using the Jeep around my property and had to exit the vehicle while in neutral (auto transmission) and attempted to engage the parking brake. If the handle is pulled slowly, sometimes the brake engages enough to hold. In this particular instance, I pulled the handle slowly, felt some resistance to indicate the brake engaged, and exited the vehicle. The brake then relieved enough pressure to allow the vehicle to roll back into a hole form where a stump had been. Fortunately I was not injured and the Jeep did not collide with anything. This emphasized to me a previously-known safety issue with the product. The design of the brake lever is supposed to be self-adjusting, however in reality, the clutch mechanism to do this allows slippage to the point where the handle hits the backstop prior to engaging the brakes on many Wrangler jks that are only a few years old. This is a well documented problem in jk forums and many owners have created workarounds to force the mechanism to maintain tension on the parking brake cables. I have not done this to mine, and consequentially have not had a reliably functioning for years. For obvious reasons, this flaw in the parking brake design (especially on vehicles offered with manual transmissions puts public safety at risk. Ilderton Chrysler Jeep Dodge in winston salem failed this vehicle on safety inspection in 2020 as a result of this, but I did not authorize a diagnostic investigation, as I was already aware of the problem. I was able to jiggle the parking brake enough to cause it to engage enough to pass inspection. Within 1 - 2 pulls, the brake was completely unusable again. I have checked parking brake shoe to drum clearance and verified that the rear is adjusted correctly for engagement. The problem only exists in the design of the lever. No warning lamps related to the lever/integrated switch.

25 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2021

When I'm driving the Jeep, it does not matter if I going up or going down on a hill and I apply the brakes and stop, they stay applied and not released.

31 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2018

In order for emergency brake to actually work it has to be pulled upwards with greater force than should be reasonably expected. This presents the likelihood of the vehicle rolling when parked on an incline, particularly for those with standard transmissions.

32 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2018

When you pull onto the road it starts to hit the brakes and when you try to hit the gas it still hits the gas then the abs comes on than the anti slip comes on and than the other one comes on like you are going down the hill comes on. It keeps up hitting my brakes than for a little while it lets up off my brakes but the lights stay on.
