Eight problems related to air bag light on have been reported for the 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

Airbag light began to illuminate on and off suddenly without reason after starting the car. Now the airbag light is steady on. Mechanic ran fault codes and received about 15 fault codes on computer related to airbag system and srs. Appears to be some sort of major electrical problem.
While sitting still I started my Jeep and on my instrument panel the airbag light came on, the first few hours it would come on and go off intermittently, now it's on all of the time. When I took it to a dealership they said it was the clock spring which costs $410 for the part alone and informed me that they are on back order which tells me there must be a lot of Jeeps with the same issue. When I asked them if that meant my airbag may deploy at any time she said no quite the opposite it meant it would not deploy at all. I am a mail carrier and have spoken to other 2016 rhd Jeep owners and they had recalls to repair theirs but mine didn't make the recall list. My Jeep is my livelihood, now I have to worry that if I'm involved in a collision I'm at a much higher risk for injury or fatality.
The vehicles airbag light came on and the buttons on the steering wheel now fail to work. Looked online found it is the clock spring. There was a recall for this issue but this vehicle is not covered under that recall. Dealer quote to fix this issue is 679. 00.
Takata recall. Airbag light recently turned on. After using a diagnostic tool to decode the problem I'm given code b1b02. This was an open recall on half a million older Jeep Wranglers. However mine is not included in the recall and feel it should be concerning the potential seriousness that could arise.
Takara recall airbag light has came on. Dealer states there is no recall for my rhd. 71k miles on it. And out of warranty. Dealer states it will cost around $700 to fix. Light came on while driving on gravel road.
