Air bag light came on causing my air bags to not deploy if I do get in an accident.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that after stopping and attempting to make a left turn at approximately 5 mph, another vehicle crashed into passenger's side wheel and fender of the vehicle. The contact stated that the passenger's side wheel was pushed up into the wheel well. The contact stated that the vehicle was pushed laterally approximately 7-10 feet. The force of the impact went through the engine block and went out on the driver's side of the vehicle. Additionally, the windshield was cracked and hood clip on the driver's side was severed. The contact stated that the air bags failed to deploy. The contact assumed that the other vehicle was driving approximately 60 mph at the time of impact. The contact was concerned that he might have also sustained possible brain and spinal cord injuries. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 16v734000 (air bags) and stated that he had not received any information or notification from the manufacturer regarding the recall for which the VIN was included. Recall # s40, NHTSA 16v-288 needs to be expanded!!! my clockspiring assembly is bad in my vehicle, and my airbag light is on. The dealership said if I get in an accident the air bag will not deploy. There is a recall out for certain 2016 rhd vehicles for the clock spring assembly. Certain vehicles manufactured between 2011 and may of 2016 fall into the recall. My vehicle was manufactured during that time, however for some reason my VIN number is not included in this recall-why? the same clock spring that was recalled in certain VIN numbers has gone bad in my vehicle also-which is a right hand drive. Speaking with chrystler directly about this they said there is nothing they can do because my VIN number is not included! this is not ok! it is an issue effecting air bad deployment! I am a rural mail carrier-and I am risking my life every day. If a vehicle rear ends me or hits me-my air bad will not deploy and that's my life! for chrystler to know about this issue in vehicles and not take care of it in mine is not ok! and I expect something to be done!.
Clockspring is causing the air bag light to stay illuminated. Clockspring controls turn signal, flashers, deployment of air bags, etc. If I have an accident the air bags may not even deploy. That is a real safety issue to me and should be for all drivers.
I was traveling down a city street and the person coming the other direction crossed the double yellow line. We collided head on and my airbag did not deploy. I had recently replaced the airbag due to a recall from the manufacturer. This accident resulted in my vehicle being totaled. Furthermore I received several injuries including a concussion and whiplash. The airbag did deploy on the kia that hit me.
During a rollover crash which initiated at 40 miles per hour, the frontal airbags failed to deploy. The vechicle rolled and an adequate amount of force to deploy the air bags should have been triggered. As a result the ooccupants experience extensive injuries consistent with sudden deceleration.
Involved in front-end impact with a sign and tree, resulting in severe damage to bumper and framework. The airbag did not deploy. The driver sustained severe injuries to head. Vehicle was not inspected or repaired after the accident.
Received several recall letters from fca. Finally called the dealer to schedule what you say is a 2 hour repair. First problem, they say they have not received any parts to effect a repair on any of the effected vehicles . That has been over one year. Now that you are sending out the notices for a year, my wife is concerned that if she were to be involved in an accident, the air bags may not deploy as designed. There has to be some kind of time frame for the manufacturer to make needed repairs or what good is your department?.
