On 9/29/24 with the rear window removed and the top in a closed position while driving highway speeds, the driver side rear window of my vehicle, without warning, flew off and moments later the rear driver side support flew off. The side windows of the vehicle had previously never been removed. It was a shocking experience that left me quite shaken, yet out of control to mitigate. Fortunately, there were no vehicles immediately behind me taking the impact of flying car parts, however, had there been this could have been deadly. The dealership will not be able to fully access the vehicle until 10/16/24. Upon speaking to the service manager they will take a quick look at it today (9/30).
My 2021 Jeep Wrangler suffered a power steering massive leak and gear box is defective. I only had 19,000 miles on it and the steering is very very loose and has always been loose since I purchased it. I have an appointment with kings crysler Jeep, mason ohio on September 24, 2024. The head service advisor noted I was out of the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty by 2. 5 months. He has never heard this happening but now I think I might tow the vehicle to the dealership. No warning lights alerted me.
When driving above 30 mph and going over a bump the car shakes and wobbles violently feeling like the tires and steering wheel will fall off. This has been referred to as the “death wobble. ” the car has some warranty remaining and is going in for repair with an authorized Jeep dealer.
The best way I can describe it is that it has the "death wobble". My mechanic is still attempting to get all of the parts that are needed and I just turned 44,000 on my Jeep.
My clutch was recalled and I brought it in maybe around 10 times after because the service transmission light immediately came up after the recall fix. After bringing it to Jeep for a year and engineers giving me the run around. First they said it was the way I was driving the clutch then after a year they said that the recall was to put a new sensor in and that is why the service transmission light is going on. This cannot be correct because they would have said that from the beginning. It is dangerous because you cannot see anything on the screen when the service transmission light comes up. They do not know what is wrong and are making up excuses after it was in the shop off and on for a year. The way I drive the clutch is normal and should never make the service transmission light go on. It never happened before the recall. I have docume to from all the times it went into the shop.
1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the hybrid-electric system, including the high-voltage battery, battery pack control module (bpcm), and associated cooling systems, repeatedly malfunctioned. These failures caused loss of power while driving, electrical odors, and error messages. The vehicle is currently at the dealership for service and is available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the vehicle has lost power multiple times while in motion, including on city streets and highways. These unexpected power losses significantly increased the risk of rear-end collisions and limited my ability to safely accelerate or steer in traffic. I have had to take anxiety medication when driving the vehicle due to fear of these events recurring, and I am deeply concerned about the safety of my family, including a newborn passenger. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes. The issues have been confirmed by an authorized Jeep dealership on multiple occasions. Despite several recall campaigns and attempted repairs, the same power loss and electrical system problems have recurred. Service advisors and technicians acknowledged the problems and attempted component replacements and reprogramming, but the malfunctions persist. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? the vehicle has been inspected and serviced exclusively by an authorized Jeep/Chrysler dealership (autonation cdjr in roseville, CA). There is no indication that fca/stellantis corporate has physically inspected the vehicle beyond dealership reports. It has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? yes. Warning lights and messages su.
Driving in electric mode around 40mph into a 55mph zone I could not accelerate and the Jeep started to slow down. I put the hazards on and pulled over. Shut the Jeep down and restarted. Putting hybrid mode and it seemed to work fine.
Hi, I am hereby, reporting that a clutch recall and software update was done on my 2021 Wrangler Jeep rubicon and the Jeep would shut down when pressing the gas pedal and bogs down while driving. The Jeep is still at the dealership since June 18 2024 and haven't heard anything from them so far and they won't give me a loaner vehicle. I don't have any other vehicle to drive. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
- loss of power -lag in gas pedal response - struggles to go up hills - lunges forward at times - its a 2021 and starting to have corrosion issues.
Poor workmanship - soft top broken after single use.
Stellantis just issued recall for backup camera - believe my Wrangler is experiencing the same issue - sometime the screen is black and other time the lines are missing when backing up. This is an intermittent issue. Was sure that my car would have been part of the recall when I saw info on news but was surprised it was not.
Jeep has failed to repair the outstanding recalls--one of which says my Jeep can spontaneously combust on/off, charging/not charging, driving/not driving. Jeep offered to buy back my Jeep and now has put it into processing hell, essentially reneging its offer to buy back my Jeep, which I have in writing.
I am concerned for the safety of my family with the recall of my Jeep Wrangler. There is no remedy, is it safe to drive?.
I took my 2021 diesel Jeep in for a y81 emissions recall on 02. 19. 24. Since then, my vehicle has had its check engine light go on six times with a p0133 alert which refers to an O2 sensor. I have taken it in to the dealership for a resolution six times. Currently, it is set to be diagnosed and repaired yet one more time on 01. 22. 25. Now we are in the middle of winter and I feel like the vehicle is about to die at intersections and roundabouts when I approach them. I tried to go through an arbitration with fca USA llc which produces the Jeep brand and it was denied for a repurchase of the vehicle because the arbitrator felt it was not a safety issue since I still drive the vehicle and they are technically not in violation of the warranty which I did not accept as a resolution. Due to my non-resolved safety concern, I am raising the issue in this forum so hopefully something can be done and others that potentially have the same issue can reach a resolution as well. My hypothesis of the cause of the issue is when the y81 recall happened, it tuned down the emissions output that was originally higher necessary for the vehicle to run, because I didn't have check engine lights before. By this tune-down of emissions, the engine is not able to produce the correct output to run the vehicle and thus the random lack of power causing a safety issue, and is currently adversely affecting components that are causing the p0133 O2 sensor to alert.
I am reporting an ongoing steering/wheel wobble issue with my Jeep Wrangler. While driving at highway speeds, the vehicle suddenly begins to shake severely after hitting small bumps or uneven pavement. The wobble feels like the front end is vibrating uncontrollably, and the steering wheel oscillates left and right. I am forced to slow down significantly to regain control. This has happened multiple times, and the wobble creates a clear safety hazard because the vehicle becomes difficult to steer and maintain in the lane. The issue is unpredictable but tends to occur between approximately 45–65 mph. I have checked tire balance and suspension components, but the problem persists.
Took my Jeep Wrangler 4xe for the b9a recall fix to cole Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership in san luis obispo California. My vehicle was returned to me in less than 4 hours of drop off with a depleated electric battery. The recall fix was not done correctly per stellantis instructions. I’ve opened up a formal case with Jeep cares but no contact has been made.
It has been about 4 months now, and stalantis/Jeep still is unable to fix the issue. This means that for 4 months, I'm unable to use the vehicle for its intended purpose.
Was driving on the freeway about 65mph-70mph when suddenly the Jeep started the shake tremendously. Luckily there was no traffic, and I was able to pull over and stop the car immediately. This is a big safety concern as it made it hard to control and traumatizing for the driver. Cars should not do that. We are scheduling an appointment to ensure nothing is broken. No warnings were shown when the incident happened.
My 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has been in for service four times. When the vehicle hits a bump at higher speeds ie the freeway, the steering wheel and entire car shake and rattle. The death wobble. I have to slow down or come to a complete stop. This is very dangerous on the freeway.
Death wobble. At highway speeds, triggered by varying degrees of uneven spots on the road. Severe steering and control instability. Sometimes the vehicle shaking is extremely violent. Must coast down to a varying speed, sometimes down to 65-45mph for the wobble to cease. Happened multiple times, pre- and post-warranty.
Fire started about 15 minutes after parking the Jeep. Flames and smoke first appeared in engine compartment on passenger side where an electrical panel is located. Fire spread quickly and burnt out entire front of vehicle before the fire department was able to extinguish the flames. Vehicle is a total loss.
- auto stop / start "feature" failed at restarting the engine. - at an intersection, waiting to turn left and for a gap in oncoming traffic, the auto stop feature engaged. Upon an opportunity to proceed, the vehicle did not restart and left me stranded with traffic on coming. Luckily, the approaching vehicle was able to stop - else I would of been t-boned, hitting the passenger side with my wife in the seat. - the only warning was barely noticeable - just to "shift to park" - as a result, I will be purchasing an after market component to override this "feature" I will never be stranded or put in harms way for political reasons again.
Traveling in florida on interstate 4 going approximately 65 mph the rear side plastic window on our soft top Wrangler blew out without any warning. Other vehicles destroyed it. I luckily was able to pull over in the medium to retrieve the damaged window. It was a very dangerous situation. I looked up Wrangler forums and saw that many owners had the same problem. After reading the forums and talking to the service department at the dealership they don’t have a fix for the problem. My wife and I are hesitant to take our vehicle on any road over 50 mph.
Jeep death wobble. Same problem as the 2018/2019 models. Over 45 mph and/or hit a bump and the Jeep wobbles uncontrollably and won’t stop until you slow to almost a stop. Incredibly dangerous for highway driving. There are no warning signs before it happens. This happened to me on a congested and fast moving highway.
Driving down freeway or any road with bumps set my Jeep into an uncontrollable bouncing. Today was the worst one so far. Very scary on freeway almost lost control had to drop way down in speed just to get control again. Took Jeep into dealer service department right away. Waiting for service to follow-up with me.
Received the fca recall b9a/NHTSA 23v-787 which states that a defect exists, the high voltage (hv) battery on the vehicle may fail internally. The root cause is still being investigated and there is no fix at this time. It then states to refrain from recharging these vehicles and not to park them inside of buildings or structures or near other vehicles. I have followed up with fca and Jeep care and have not heard back from them. Its been several weeks. This should be a lemon and bought back as it can not be used as intended.
At speeds about 35-45 mph and again between 55-60 mph vehicle steering will shake uncontrollably, with tire bounce. Requires sudden slowdowns in order to regain control. Dealership has replaced tie rods and steering stabilizer with no resolution. The shake has been present since purchasing from the dealership and has become progressively worse. Those driving behind report the appearance that "tires are going to come off".
The vehicle had a tendency to shut down while driving - the hv battery recall is a significant safety issue. It’s been 3 months since the recall and I’ve heard noting about the fix. The manufacturer instructed owners to not park newt other vehicles, in a garage, and not to charge the vehicle. That’s an unacceptable situation considering the long options for parking all violate the manufacturers instructions,.
My Jeep has been sitting in a parking lot at bald hill Jeep in warwick, ri since 12/14, because of two issues, a transmission issue, for which parts have been on back order, and for a a safety recall of the battery, for which there is no solution for repair. This is a safety hazard to myself, others and property in general. The battery may catch fire whether it’s on of off. I will not put safety of myself, others, or property, at risk. I want a full refund of the purchase price of my vehicle so that I can buy a vehicle that is safe to drive. Even if they fix the transmission issue, the vehicle is unsafe to drive. I have been without a vehicle due to both issues since 12/14/23. I expect Jeep to pay for a rental vehicle until I get my full refund of the purchase price of my vehicle. Also, I found out about the recall when I went to the dealership after my car engine light went on and my vehicle stalled twice. I only received an official notice of the recall after, as if Jeep is trying to hide the unsafe recall. I scanned the qr code to request a refund, however, there are many technical issues with the form that will not allow me to proceed with the submission. Another issue is that I have tried to contact Jeep via fca online email form, such also does not work. It appears they want to avoid being contacted. Meghan maguire.
Death wobble on a 2021 my mechanic is trying to fix it, and I was told that this is the first year of power assisted suspension (which he believes is causing the issues) the death wobble continues replaced tires and suspension parts and still has death wobble this is a known issue on chryler history, hence the settlement, but it didn't include my vehicle as it is a newer vehicle.
My car started shaking out of control. I was on highway. Could not get over or stop for a bit. Could have been an accident. There was a car behind me and on the side of me. I have taken it to the Jeep dealership. It has happened 3x without warning. Online this is called the "death wobble".
If I am driving at any rate of speed over 50mph-- and drive over almost any road imperfection-- literally not even a pothole but a change from one section of road to another-- the car/ steering wheel starts shaking violently-- I have to drop down to about 30-35mph for it to resolve-- sometimes I have to come to a complete stop and start up again. Currently in shop.
Drivers sun visor broke off while driving on November 2023 on a 2021 Jeep. I was driving at a residential area going 30mph. Dealership fixed it and assessed it as a safety issue. I brushed off the incident and considered it as normal wear and tear. Then in April 2024 the passenger sun visor broke off. I was on the interstate driving 70mph. I seldom carry passengers and when I do it's mostly after sunset. In both cases, we simply flipped visor down and it broke off. The roads were smooth both times. I went online to search for recalls but instead found many forums experiencing the same issue and suggesting to buy a 3rd party sun visor repair kit.
We purchased our 2021 Jeep Wrangler rubicon 4xe/4wd hybrid in December of 2021. Since our purchase, we've received multiple recall notices which were since resolved. The volume of these recalls has been concerning to us, especially for such an expensive vehicle for which we had an expectation of quality. However, the most recent recall for the high voltage battery b9a/NHTSA 23v-787 is a catastrophic problem because we live in an attached townhome community. This exposes us personally to both catastrophic danger and liability. Secondarily, we paid a hefty premium purchase price for a hybrid vehicle, a function that is lost to us now. We also incurred the considerable expense of installing a charger in our garage, for use with our Jeep rubicon. We can no longer use this charging station.
My car has been recalled more times than actually driven when leased. The manufacturer offers no help or returns phone calls. The latest recall is extremely hazardous and dangerous. I am advised to not drive it, not charge it, and not park next to any structure. They do not have a remedy, and still want to continue charging me for the lease. I’ve complained numerous times about this car and have been ignored incessently.
