36 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/18/2024

Vehicle just turned off, lost power while driving. A "check charging system" message showed up on the dashboard. I was able to restart the vehicle with no further errors.

37 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2024

While driving the vehicle shut off and displayed a warning to check battery charging system. I had to deploy emergency flashers and coast into a gas station parking lot. After parking and I was able to restart vehicle after a couple attempts and it ran normally. It has not happened since but very concerning as I was in a 50 mph area when vehicle shut off and was luckily able to safely find a pull off area. I stopped by the local dealer to report the issue but they saw no outstanding recalls or service bulletins so nothing was done.

38 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2024

July 2024 – driving over 40 mph the rubicon on a busy two-lane highway with my [xxx] and lost all acceleration. Interior warning lights started flashing with the warning, “service electric throttle control. ” as this was up hill, there I nearly started going backwards and two vehicles swerved around me as I was able to pull over. As cars honked that drove by, I turned the vehicle off which was at this point, making a rattling/wobbling noise. I turned the vehicle back on and off at least three times, with hybrid vehicle working. As I was two miles from home, I was able to get back with the vehicle dropping acceleration (with no horsepower and no ability to go on gas mode) twice until I rolled back in basically neutral. We called usaa to have the vehicle immediately towed to Jeep rairdon in kirkland, wa. Jeep rairdon said they would do an inspection three days later where they will assess if we can get a loaner. It’s sitting in their service lot with no info. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

39 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/09/2024

Our vehicle electrical components has been acting up since we bought it in 2021 (all lights flashing, stalling and not able to restart the vehicle). In 2023, the vehicle stalled in the middle of a 6 lanes busy highway and would not restart. Following this, recalls were performed (unknown if related to any issues). Again, our vehicle stalled and wouldn't start again even after all recalls were performed. Our dealer said it is unsafe to drive and will change the ev battery but from reading online forums, this did not solve the major similar issues for other Jeep 4xe owners. When issues occurred, all warning lights would turn on and the most recent issue, the engine light stayed on. The Jeep has been with the dealership for over a month. There was no accidents, luckily as other vehicles managed to avoid us luckily as this could haven been a tragic accident even fatal.

40 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/08/2024

Unexpected unwarned complete loss of all motive power while driving on a 4 lane main road. The Jeep lost all power, no ice power and no elec motor power. Dash message said put vehicle in park to restart - at the time I was going about 45mph in the left lane of a 4 lane. Vehicle coasting and decelerating as I was on flat terrain. Was luckily able to get safely to the shoulder. Vehicle restarted after putting it in park, then drove normally with nothing out of the ordinary, no more messages, no warning or check engine lights.

41 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/31/2024

The vehicle was running and suddenly shut down due to a hybrid battery warning right in the middle of traffic, rendering the vehicle undriveable and leaving me in a dangerous position. Vehicle had to be towed to a dealership. Code p0b24 $07ef hybrid battery a voltage unstable.

42 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/27/2024

Vehicle exploded while parked in the middle of night catching fire causing major damage to the vehicle and a total loss.

43 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2024

The engine would not shut off. Also, automatic transmission would not engage into drive.

44 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2024

- auto stop / start "feature" failed at restarting the engine. - at an intersection, waiting to turn left and for a gap in oncoming traffic, the auto stop feature engaged. Upon an opportunity to proceed, the vehicle did not restart and left me stranded with traffic on coming. Luckily, the approaching vehicle was able to stop - else I would of been t-boned, hitting the passenger side with my wife in the seat. - the only warning was barely noticeable - just to "shift to park" - as a result, I will be purchasing an after market component to override this "feature" I will never be stranded or put in harms way for political reasons again.

45 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2024

Been waiting since early January for freehold Jeep to repair the recall with the hybrid batter, risk of fire while ignition is on or off. They are not calling me back to get this fixed.

46 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/30/2023

I have been waiting for a recall to be fixed and Jeep has no known date of delivery for the recall part but Jeep has new ones on the lot for sale. My entire vehicle is acting up, one day my reverse sensors malfunction then they don't, my defrost is not working, I can't remote start at all and I live in buffalo so I need a warm vehicle, the Jeep 4xe will jump forward when coming to a stop, the heater isn't responding when I turn up dial, the death wobble has happened. And my dealer is worthless - no communication so I have to resort to this writing. I bought the 4xe Jan 4, 2021 (brand new) because the "electric" miles get me back and forth to work just fine and less money for gas. The Jeep itself was $63k, and I bought extended warranty. Fast forward to today. I have gone over 2 months w/o electric b/c no parts avail.

47 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/22/2023

- what component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? high voltage battery may fail internally - how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? an internally failed hv battery could lead to a vehicle fire with the ignition on or off. - has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? mfg & NHTSA recall b9a/23v-787 22 Nov 2024 - has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no, there is no remedy from the mfg at this time of submission. Recommendations from the manufacturer 1. Refrain from recharging the vehicle; 2. Not to park inside of buildings or structures, or 3. Near other vehicles until the vehicles has the final repair completed. --> it has been over 6 months since this issue has been known and there is not remedy. Not having access to the primary function of propulsion for such a long length of time is unacceptable and should prompt either a repair (which is not available, replacement vehicle; refund, or some other form of compensation. The mfg has already denied my claim for replacement/refund of the vehicle.

48 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/22/2023

Recall (b9a) has been out since November of 2023. The recall states "an internally failed hv battery could lead to a vehicle fire with the ignition on or off. A vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and/or injury to persons outside the vehicle, as well as property damage. " as of today, no 'remedy' is available. In the mean time, can't charge the car. Driving the car would seem to be 'unwise' as the risk seems to be with the 'ignition on or off'. Can't park the car in my garage. Can't drive it to work as my employer doesn't want the liability should an issue arise. Been waiting patiently for a remedy - so far nothing but static.

49 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2023

Was informed of this recall back in November of 2023. It is approximately 3 months later, and the dealership has heard nothing from stellantis about how to repair this recall. I also have heard nothing from stellantis. In the mean time, I cannot fully use the vehicle in the manner it was made, which is why I made the purchase.

50 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2023

The manufacturer issued recall on 10/2022 and as of 11/2023 part to fix issue is still not available.

51 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2023

Nhtsa safety issue 23v787000 open safety recall with no fix. Dealership will not give me a rental car. My car is at risk of starting on fire per the open recall what has no fix. My family goes in this car and my son is secured in a child restraint seat. If it starts on fire I will not be able to save his life. I also cannot charge it and I bought the phev for fuel savings this recall has been open since November 2023 and it’s now 4 months later with no fix. My car has 20k miles still under the full factory bumper to bumper warranty and fca is refusing to help me with a rental car and or car payments.

52 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/23/2023

I took this Jeep to the dealer and they repaired it per my invoice. I am still receiving messages that the recall is still open from corporate Jeep. The NHTSA also says the recall is still open. I called the dealer and they can’t help me or see no recall?.

53 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2023

I own a 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe – VIN: [xxx] . I previously brought the vehicle in for a recall related to the high-voltage battery. Months later, I received another safety notice instructing me not to charge the vehicle and to park it outdoors away from structures due to fire risk. This indicates the original recall service did not resolve the defect. My vehicle is currently unable to perform its intended function (ev charging/commuting functionality) and may pose a safety hazard when parked. I am requesting NHTSA oversight to ensure fca/Jeep provides an available remedy and that owners are informed and supported. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

54 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2023

Part z96 high pressure fuel pump was recalled over a year ago with no parts or fix. I had been calling every 2-3 months to check and was informed the fix was not available. Over a month ago, the fuel pump failed and the car shut off while I was driving. Metal was sent through the entire fuel system. The whole fuel system needs replaced and the Jeep sits at the dealer with no parts available.

55 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2023

Check engine light and excessive engine coolant leak; inspected by a manufacturer dealer and seller dealership; initial dealer stated it wasn't drivable due to the amount of coolant leaking as part of the tubing was melted due to improperly being afixed and being to close to the exhaust; yes. The same issue was reported 3 times before the issue I had in regards to the check engine light and a recall on the coolant leak was indicated to be fixed in March 2023 but continued to be an issue now; warning light for the check engine appeared the same day I brought the vehicle in.

56 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2023

March of 2023. Vehicle started hesitating and skipping. P0001 was logged. Dealership found terminals to connector to fuel pressure regulator were not crimped properly and loose. Repair was made. Aug 2023. Symptom have resurfaced this time logging code and shutting off while accelerating through an intersection. Logged code again p0001 fuel volume regulator control circuit/open.

57 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/11/2023

Fuel sensor is way off. Have ran out of gas less than 2 mins after dropping below a 38 mile range twice now. Drive 20 miles round trip everyday and go through a 60 mile range on my vehicle. I watch the range decrease by four or five miles while in idle.

58 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2023

The engine light came on 3 weeks ago and I took it to the auto shop to find out what is wrong. P1547 is the code that the auto mechanic told me was coming up on the scan. He said it could be the gas cap so I had that replaced, but the light came back on in 2 days. He said that this is the 2nd Jeep Wrangler he has seen with the same engine light and code and believes it has something to do with the fuel system. My Jeep is less than 3 years old and only has 22,556 miles on it. I have only driven it around town and on the highways. Have taken very good care of the vehicle and have replaced the oil as directed. This has to be a manufacturers error and something that is quite concerning if it has to do with the fuel system. Please advise on how to proceed. I will be reaching out to Jeep corporate office as well to let them know about this issue and to see which service center they would like me to take the vehicle to. David juergens.

59 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/09/2023

Dates of problem may 18 and June 9 the Jeep has engine light on the throttle control light is on I was driving on a highway and the vehicle completely went into limp mode would not go above 33 mph and almost caused an accident since the Jeep went into limp mode brought it to dealership they said the fixed it then a 2weeks later it happens again this time with my son in the car going 60 mph it does same exact thing this vehicle is a safety hazard for me and now I’m afraid to drive it at all having to pay for towing and it’s a leased vehicle just dosnt make sense to me what’s the lemon law on this.

60 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2023

While driving approximately 15 mph the engine cut out and the engine light came on. I was able to pull over and the engine would not start. My personal obd scanner states it is the high pressure fuel pump. I had to be towed by aaa from moab ut to grand junction colorado Jeep Chrysler dealership 5/25/2023.

61 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2023

Power to my vehicle ceased abruptly. Now, my vehicle will not turn all the way on. The dashboard will illuminate but the engine will not start. This is due to Jeep's outstanding recall of a high pressure fuel pump. That recall has been listed with the NHTSA for over six months with no eta.

62 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/28/2023

Vehicle has fluttered off and on for 2 months. Drove on the highway yesterday and the fluttering progressively got worse. It began to lose power and a service electronic throttle control light came on. I pulled off the side of the road, turned it off and back on. I went 45 mph with hazard lights to the nearest exit. It continued to flutter and the light reappeared. I’ve called many Jeep dealerships before this as well as now and they all say there is nothing they can do due to no solution/remedy. I don’t feel safe driving my Jeep back home 3. 5 hrs so I have to borrow a family member’s vehicle while my Jeep sits at a dealership until there is something they can do.

63 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2023

Today this morning I parked, put the gear in park and all of a sudden the car ravaged up and jumped forward, causing me to go through a fence and stopped. I had my foot on the break the whole time.

64 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2023

My 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe died while driving down the road. Luckily I was able to coast to the side and cycle the engine off/on in order to regain power. This was the exact same issue that is described in NHTSA campaign number: 22v865000, however, this time (2/3/23) was after the zb7 recall was completed. Even after the recall work was completed and Jeep told me the vehicle was safe to drive, it still failed in the exact same manner. The recall procedure did not work and this vehicle is not safe to drive. Additionally, during the period after the recall was completed and before it died again while driving, the battery range has decreased dramatically (less than 50% of what it was prior to the recall work).

65 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/02/2022

Jeep issued this recall on the fuel system but has no parts to repair. They said the dealer could install a temporary repair but my dealer said they don’t know what they are talking about. They have not offered a suitable solution and I’m stuck waiting with an unsafe vehicle.

66 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2022

I received a recall notice regarding my Jeep that states that it has a high pressure fuel pump ("hpfp") that could fail prematurely. This notice was sent on 10/13/2022 and my vehicle has still not been serviced. The notice states that a hpfp failure may introduce internally failed component debris into the fuel system potentially causing fuel starvation. The fuel starvation could cause loss of motive power, which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. Also, it is possible that this issue could cause additional fuel system components to fail causing further damage to my Jeep. I drive my Jeep regularly, on a daily basis, and its my sole transportation for myself and my family. I feel unsafe driving it and would like to know what is the work around until parts are available to have this issue resolved.

67 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2022

My diesel Jeep Wrangler has had an open safety recall for 12 months (z96/NHTSA 22v-767), related to the high pressure fuel pump. Jeep/stellantis continually fails to address this issue and pushes the estimated timeline for repairs months down the road. Every time I call or bring my vehicle in for service, I am alerted to this open safety recall, then told there is no fix available. I have tried to trade my Jeep in several times over the last 9 months, but dealers have been unwilling to take a vehicle on trade with an open safety recall and no fix available.

68 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2022

This recall is potentially life threatening. It has been months & the dealer is still saying there is no fix. I believe they are not giving it the proper attention because this recall affects only diesel engines & there were not many diesel Jeep models purchased compared to traditional gas engine Jeeps. I own 2. Both are affected & I feel unsafe. Please see that they remedy this problem ASAP before an accident occurs due to this problem. Thank you.

69 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2022

Nhtsa recall 22v-767. This recall was issued in October 2022, and the manufacturer has failed to complete the recall on our vehicle. I have called and asked to have this recall completed and have told that there are no parts available, however, numerous online reports from owner groups across the country have said that the parts that are available are being used to fix vehicles on the lots that are in stop-sale first, instead of fixing customer's Jeeps. The recall is old and the problem is serious; it can cause a lot of damage when that part fails, and could result in an accident. My wife drives this Jeep daily, and I fear for her safety. Fca doesn't appear to be taking any of it seriously. What is NHTSA doing about this? there are a lot of us with the affected vehicles that are in this position.

70 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2022

Phev issue. My vehicle will be using electric only mode and the internal combustion engine will turn on minutes into the trip and the battery usage is ceased. The instrument cluster will show “electric mode temporarily unavailable. ” the vehicle will continue using gas engine only until the vehicle is turned off. When restarted, electric only mode is available and accessible. This message is not related to fuel and oil refresh mode. I am not using the heating or cooling system and driving local roads with a short commute. The ambient temperature is in the 70s/80s and the vehicle garaged and charged nightly. This vehicle behavior is not favorable and certainly defeats the intend of purchasing a phev. The vehicle spent the last three weeks at the dealership for another issue with the phev and waited three months for the replaced two parts to arrive. The issue was causing faults and the check engine light to come on with only 87 miles on the odometer. There is just 2477 miles on the vehicle, and the dealership service department is unable to troubleshoot the issue further as no fault codes are generating. This issue may be software based, but needs to be addressed to have a properly functioning phev.
