36 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/09/2024

Purchased 8/5/2024. Driving 45mph on 8/9/2024 -all warning lights began going on and off then Jeep just stopped leaving the d flashing and the message to press brake and push to start. Took a few moments to get it into park. Restarted and took to dealer. They charged all batteries and returned 4 days later. 2 days later, next incident, 25 mph shut down, almost hit from behind and had to deal with irate driver. Resumed after getting into park and switched to gas mode to drive to dealership. Picked up 6 days later and told no codes so no problem. 3 more incidents, remains at dealership service since 8/26/24.

37 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/22/2024

On July 15th , July 30th and August 11th 2024 the gas pedal on my less than 2 month old Jeep Wrangler 4xe did respond / engage while driving and pressing on the pedal. It felt like the car was dying. This happened at three different speeds, 65mph on the highway, 30mph on a side road and around 40mph on a state road. In addition to the gas pedal not working/ vehicle not moving forward the vehicle also seemed to slow it self down, like I was breaking however I was not and as the vehicle slowed down it was shaking vigorously all 3 times. This is incredibly dangerous and unsafe. I contacted over 20 Jeep dealerships and Jeep corporate before I was able to get an appointment - this vehicle was looked at by a dealership and I have been told they 'have no codes' and 'everything is fine' in addition to the loss of power, gas failure, non responsive gas pedal I have counted over 10 incidences where this vehicle has a delay in acceleration of 3 - 8 seconds before lurching and jerking forward at various speeds, some of the times vehicle has also shaked other times the jerking is so severe if feels like you've been rear ended. Jeep is not taking these concerns seriously, I am reporting in hopes that you will and maybe others have reported similar issues and we can get some answers and repairs figured out as this car is unsafe and I do not want me or my children to be a statistic of a horrible accident that should have been a recall / fix issued by Jeep.

38 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/18/2024

While slow braking and pulling into a parking space, the Jeep jerked , lunged forward and proceeded to go through the storefront glass and inside the building! 3 people were injured. The engineer was unable to pull data from the edr due to the speed and no airbags deployed. The Jeep is currently at the collision center and they are searching for a mechanic to go over it. Seems difficult to find anyone qualified to do so. I am 100% sure the Jeep malfunctioned and accelerated forward. I have read of similar incidents on your site. I will never drive it again as I know it is unsafe!! I would appreciate any help you or anyone else can give me. I am currently working with my insurance company on the claims. I also hired a forensic investigator.

39 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/10/2024

The dealership states there are no active recalls on the vehicle. I’ve taken it in multiple times for the same complaints but they always say they “cannot reproduce” the issue and brush me off. This vehicle seems to have something wrong with the transmission and is often jumpy during acceleration and often times struggles with the braking process. It almost seems like it’s getting a burst of acceleration that I have to fight against while braking. It has been quite scary at times. I have stopped charging the vehicle bc the charger gets incredibly hot near the handle, even when I use public chargers. One time the vehicle died while I was driving at approximately 55 miles per hour. The dealership stated it was bc I was “low on gas” and blew it off as user error.

40 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/21/2023

Going over a bump at 45 mph or greater results in the death wobble. Will not stop shaking until the vehicle slows down.

41 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2023

Our Jeep is a leased vehicle with approx 5,200 miles. While riding on the highway going approx 65 mph the vehicle began to death wobble causing the driver to nearly lose control of the car. We were on a 4 lane interstate that could have resulted in a severe accident had the driver actually lost control. With so few miles on the vehicle there is no reason other than a manufacturing defect that would explain how this vehicle could already be experiencing death wobble, a known issue with Jeeps.

42 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2023

Brand new Jeep has been at the dealership for 11weeks to have electrical issues and radio issues fixed. As of today, it still has not been fixed but the dealership wants to release it back to me until a special group of engineers/it come up with a remedy. The vehicle has never ran properly.

43 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2023

I am the original owner of a 2023 Jeep Wrangler sport with approximately 16,240 miles. The vehicle is completely unmodified. I am reporting a serious safety defect involving the steering and suspension system. When driving at highway speeds (50 mph and above), the vehicle experiences a violent front?end oscillation whenever it encounters a bump, uneven pavement, or bridge expansion joints. The steering wheel rapidly shakes left to right, and the entire vehicle shudders for 5 to 10 seconds. The oscillation does not stop until I slow the vehicle down to below 45 mph. This issue is reproducible and occurs frequently on rough or uneven road surfaces at highway speeds. During these events, I temporarily lose the ability to maintain proper steering control, creating a dangerous situation for myself, my passengers, and other drivers. This condition is commonly referred to as “death wobble,” and it makes the vehicle unsafe to operate. Given the severity of this defect and the safety risk it poses, I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue and that Jeep/stellantis address the defect under the new vehicle limited warranty (3?year/36,000?mile basic warranty). The front?end suspension components—including the track bar, steering damper, ball joints, and related parts—should be inspected and repaired as necessary to eliminate this hazardous oscillation.

44 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2023

While driving on a major interstate, on a clear day, with no outstanding or extreme influences and traveling with traffic at a standard rate of speed (70 mph), a small roughly dime sized rock hit my windshield. This resulted in an immediate, large radial crack and approximately 9 inch lateral crack across my windshield. The rock was traveling slow enough that I could see it coming. Further research shows that this is a known issue to the manufacturer and owners, which is why the manufacturer offers an upgraded glass option for durability. This makes sense for off-roading or in a way inconsistent with manufacturers recommendation, but it is a safety issue if the glass cannot maintain during normal operation. I have concerns with every rock until it is replaced. It has been inspected by manufacturer/dealer, and I am paying to have it upgraded and replaced. However, I have concerns that it may result in injuries in event of a crash, or just in the course of normal operation. In a long history of driving, I’ve never experienced such extreme damage from a minor item, which calls into question what the risk would’ve been with a more severe incident.

45 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2023

After first month the trouble began. It’s a diesel. Many times this car has stalled in traffic — while stopped in traffic and while driving at high speeds. Everything just turns off and steering wheel locks up. It says to put in park. After many tries to start, it will turn back on. Has been taken to dealer many times and nothing has worked. I’ve left Jeep there for months at a time, and they still can’t fix it. This is a safety hazard. Someone might get killed by this. How can this be allowed? we need help desperately.

46 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/23/2023

We noticed on 6/24/2023 a small crack and few other minor cracks and a paint chip appeared out of nowhere on the fiber-glass/composite hard roof top at the driver side rear edge above the gas tank of my Jeep Wrangler 2023 that I bought from your dealership. My vehicle details are as follows: make: Jeep model Wrangler sahara 4x4e year: 2023 color: white VIN #: 1c4jjxp64pw584334 purchase date: 05-14-2023 condition: brand new I have consulted with aaa insurance and the “classic collision of chatsworth” and platinum plus warranty plan and the insurance services and they all say that this particular crack and paint chip on the vehicle is not from any impact but mainly due to the manufacturing defect where the fiberglass is uneven (or air bubble in it) and defective, screws tightened too much and also clearly has tool marks and signs of excessive use of force that caused a big crack on the edge from inside and that is now propagating and spreading and showing paint chip and cracks on the outside of the removable rooftop/camper above the gas tank. This is the first time I opened the back trunk and saw this. Filed a manufacturer warranty claim at the dealership on 6/26/2023. Jeep denied the claim. I find this situation unacceptable as the fiberglass hard-top is cracking and falling apart and the crack is widening as we drive the vehicle. I need help as both the dealership and the manufacturer are not fixing the manufacturing defect and are using delaying tactics.

47 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/11/2023

I am not sure if this is something that should be reported or not. My Jeep caught on fire in a drive thru on 5/11/23. It was only 3. 5 months old and had 3,465 miles on it. I saw smoke coming from under the hood, then big black billowing smoke, when some guys got the hood open there were flames coming from behind the engine. They were able to put it out with a fire extinguisher but it caused alot of damage. It is available for inspection but I would need to know ASAP since it is at the dealer. About 3 minutes prior I was on the highway and this could have ended up so much worse as I had my two dogs with me as well. I contacted Jeep and they sent engineering analysis associates/bosch automotive service solutions out to examine the car and they said "the information at hand would not permit us to associate the fire with a manufacturing or assembly error". No reason for the fire was given. Vehicle was inspected by insurance rep, investigator hired by the manufacturer. Police and fire dept were on scene at the time but did not create a report, just gave me an incident #. No warnings, messages or anything warned of the fire. I was able to drive it around to the front of the building to get it away from the building and other cars while their was smoke coming out of it. No warnings lights came on at all that I could see on the dash. I want to report this incase any other Wrangler 4xe's end up having the same issue.

48 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2023

Recall on this vehicle clutch was issued on 3/6/23, as of today 7/5/23 it has not been remedied leaving me and my family in danger of a vehicle fire.

49 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2022

I was driving approximately 30-35 mph when my vehicle engine no longer would accelerate. On the dashboard, the "d" to signify I was in drive was flashing in red, as opposed to being lit in white as usual. There was another warning light flashing in red, which was a lightning bolt with the characters ) ( around it. My car was dinging an alert sound. I was able to turn my flashers on and coast over to the side of the road. There was a significant safety concern considering I was in a city with cars driving around me, and had they not slowed, may have struck my vehicle because it decelerated so quickly. I attempted to push on the gas to accelerate, and nothing happened. After pulling over, I turned the vehicle off and back on again, and the problem was no longer there. Following this, my engine over-revs when I accelerate (3,500 + rpm to increase my speed by 10-15 mph with normal to light touch on the gas). I have noticed a jerkiness to acceleration and shifting of gears since this occurred also. Another issue is I will turn my car on and the engine will rev up to 2,000 + rpms without me touching the gas to accelerate. It will idle around 2,000 rpms until I drive or turn it off. I purchased this Jeep brand new. I see on consumer report there will be recalls in January 2023 on Jeep Wranglers 4xe manufactured a few months prior to the one I purchased with the same issue that I am having. I brought it in to the Jeep dealership where I purchased it. They ran diagnostics but said they were unable to find any issues. They took it for a test drive and were also unable to decipher anything wrong with it. This is a safety concern because if I am driving on the interstate or highway at appropriate speeds and my engine stops working like this again, I may be struck or cause an accident that could cause myself or others harm. The fact that 2021-2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe's manufactured prior to mine are going to be recalled in January with this same issue is concerning.

50 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/02/2022

Engine turned off and vehicle came to an abrupt stop. Battery level showed less than 1% on the 4xe at the time of the stoppage. I was driving about 25 mph when it occurred. Placed the vehicle into park, pressed brakes and restarted vehicle. Went to dealership to complain and they said they could not replicate the problem.
