Steering problem #1

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the vehicle experiences a severe front-end steering and suspension oscillation commonly referred to as “death wobble. ” after driving over uneven pavement, bridge joints, potholes, or rough highway surfaces at highway speeds, the steering wheel begins violently shaking side-to-side and the front suspension appears to oscillate uncontrollably. The vehicle becomes difficult to steer and maintain lane control until speed is significantly reduced. The issue first occurred at approximately 10,000 miles and has recently returned. Although the current episodes are somewhat less severe than the initial event, the vehicle still becomes unstable above approximately 65 mph and cannot be safely driven at normal highway speeds. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? this defect creates a serious safety hazard because the steering instability occurs suddenly at highway speeds and makes the vehicle feel temporarily out of control. During the initial in incident, the steering wheel shook violently after hitting an uneven section of highway pavement, and I believed I could lose control of the vehicle or collide with surrounding traffic. The only way to stop the oscillation is to rapidly reduce speed to approximately 50 mph or lower, which itself creates additional danger from surrounding vehicles traveling at highway speed. The recurrence of the issue has made me afraid to drive the vehicle on highways or at normal traffic speeds due to concern over loss of steering control and potential crash risk. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? the vehicle was serviced. The dealer performed the fix of the wheel damperer after the original occurrence. While those actions temporarily reduced the severity of the symptoms, they did not permanent. This is a known issue for Jeep's since 2018, I have had 3 and all 3 have had it.

Steering problem #2

Started car and check engine light was on. Started to drive it and the battery and other lights came on. Engine sounded funny and electric motor was not available. As I was trying I needed to pull off because it was not moving smoothly and was jerky. I pulled over into a parking lot and put in park and the lights indicated it was in charging mode. After repeated attempts to turn the vehicle completely off I was able to. When I was able to finally turn it back on it the engine was very loud. While driving the car would accelerate when I did not have my foot on the brake and was getting warm inside the cabin. At random times the battery light and a red turtle would appear saying the speed was being limited. This happened repeatedly. The following day on the way to try to bring it to the dealership to fix it the speed was increasing while on flat ground unless I had foot on break and then the red turtle would come back on. I determined it was unsafe to drive and requested a tow to the dealership.

Steering problem #3

There is a wobble with the stearing mechanism; the waranty is not covering the issue.

Steering problem #4

Within 40 miles of purchasing and departing the dealership, this brand-new 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4 door sport s experienced two severe and uncontrollable steering oscillation events (commonly known as "death wobble"). The first incident occurred on I-265 east (from I-65) in indiana after going over a standard bridge expansion joint/hump at approximately 60 mph. The steering wheel and front axle shook with such violence that vehicle control was nearly lost, necessitating emergency braking and pulling onto the shoulder. The event repeated under identical conditions within two miles. The vehicle was brought back to the dealership where tire balance, pressure, and alignment all appeared normal. Dealership took the vehicle for a test ride and was able to replicate the issue. Odometer leaving dealership: 133 miles.

Steering problem #5

This compliant is based on the manufactures unwillingness to provide a rental car despite the fact the car is in the shop now for over a week. They have stated in writing that they will not provide a rental car or alternative transportation until the repair for NHTSA recall number 25v-766 or 78c is determined. This leads me without a usable vehicle for an unknown period of time and their refusal to provide a rental in the main time while the vehicle is under factory warranty is a dereliction of their responsibility to provide a working product to the customer. I have a call with the manufacturer fca which is #95240670.

Steering problem #6

Loss of motor power recall has been present since October 17, 2025 - #25v710. This is an issue that started with our specific Jeep prior to this recall. It is January now and no remedy has been found. The manufacturer will not provide a loaner or rental for us even though the car has shut off on us personally on multiple occasions. They asked us to take it into the dealer to perform a diagnostic, they are unable to reproduce the shut-off issue we've experienced and have told us there is nothing they can do at this time. I looked up at your website and see there is an "interim corrective action" that has been implemented to avoid loss of motive power using an update to the backend policy while a final remedy is still under development. When I asked the dealer to either confirm if they at least performed the interim corrective action or if they can guarantee we will not experience loss of power anymore. I was told they could not answer the question and that they did not have anything they could perform on the vehicle at this time and told us we can pick it up. Again, this issue has happened to us personally on multiple occasions and have been fortunate that it's only happened on residential streets thus far. We do not feel safe to drive the car around on a daily basis and just hope the car doesn't shut off again in a more dangerous situation until a remedy is found. We originally brought this car into the dealer for a similar issue on October 14th - the dealer updated some software and gave us the car back on October 16th. By October 18th, we had a check engine light come up again and on October 19th, the car would not start on occasions again. Again they took it and said they did a software update to it. The shut off issue persisted again in December when we stopped driving the car and were able to get a rental from them for the 25v-741 issue but they are saying because they themselves cannot replicate our 25v710, they can't help us again and no fixes are available.

Steering problem #7

On Monday, December 15th at approximately 4:30pm, after having turned east onto highway 556, aka roy avenue, accelerating to the speed limit of 45 mph, I crossed over a "seam" connecting the roadway to the bridge, which immediately set off the infamous "death wobble" on my 2024 Jeep Wrangler jlu. I was unable to control the vehicle, and I had to slow down while wrestling with the steering so that I could pull off to the right hand side of the road. Had I not been able to react in such a quick manner, I could have easily collided with oncoming traffic, killed or injured others, or been killed myself. I took the vehicle to the dealer two days later, who said that the issue was a "steering stabilizer", which appears to be the default response from stellantis as all steering stabilizers are on back-order. There were no warning lights, no indicators that this event was imminent and the dealership indicated that all other parts were in normal working order.

Steering problem #8

This is a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. It currently has 22,700 miles on it. These issues began prior to 20,000 miles. The car stops driving with out warning. This has occurred on three occasions, while driving in traffic. It locks up, but power is still working. A message pops up that says put the vehicle in drive. . . Which it already is. It comes to an abrupt stop. It will not regain power. You have to power on and off multiple times to get it to start. Recently it failed to start (engine). Again, had full power, but the engine would not start. It also will not charge fully to 100%. The display screen will bling or go black, with no power. The steering wheel will shake uncontrollably while driving over 65-70 mph. These issues began in summer 2025. One incident was in sept. Oct, Nov, and Dec 13 was the last.

Steering problem #9

While driving at highway speeds, the wheel started to wobble uncontrollably for 20-30 seconds. I lost fine control of steering had maneuver to the shoulder as I reduced speed the wobble immediately stopped. This is extremely disconcerting and dangerous. I noticed this happening months ago but wasn't sure if it was rough patches in the road or speed bumps. But almost losing control confirmed it was the vehicle.

Steering problem #10

While driving on the highway my Jeep lost speed and power steering. All the warning lights flashed on and off while dinging. Dealership can't get a code to see what the problem is to fix correctly. Jeep has 2 dangerous recalls that could catch fire while driving or sitting. Both issues put my life at risk. Stellantis denied buy back.

Steering problem #11

Jeep shakes violently when going above 50 mph.

Steering problem #12

The steering wheel shakes a high speeds over 70 on highways . I’ve had it in and have had the steering wheel replaced . Another time the dealer thought it was the “death wobble” then said they didn’t find anything wrong but said it was a problem with the battery making the car heavy . This problem was not occurring previously and I drive this car every day. It does not feel right or normal . I’ve had it in over 3 times and they have not been able to find or duplicate an issue . There is a death wobble issue with Jeep but I cannot get the dealership to help with the problem .

Steering problem #13

Was driving about 35 miles per hour on a two lane canyon road when the vehicle suddenly just shut down and completely lost all electrical and power steering. I was trying desperately to steer the vehicle to the side of the road as I quickly approached a father and his two daughters riding bikes and just missed them as I was screaming out the window for them to hurry forward. Was incredibly distressing and have never been so scared. The vehicle did get to the side of the road to a stop.

Steering problem #14

I was driving as normal in a 40mph zone when my car stalled, steering locked up, and it flashed to put it in park in the middle of traffic. I was able to move over to a safe space after putting it in park but it kept shutting off as I inched my way off the road with hazards on. There was an update that went out that was causing this to vehicles and I was declining the update as suggested by manufactuerer by pressing the red x but it somehow forced installed itself while I was driving. Then while I was pulled over it would run for a few seconds then it would all of a sudden shut off again saying e-drive mode temporairly unavailable. Ive attached some photos but have a video of it running and shutting off if you would like me to send that.

Steering problem #15

Driving down the road with vehicles on opposite side and vehicle shut off with no warnings and had no steering. Had to turn vehicle on and off 3-4 times to get back to home. Had to get vehicle towed to dealership and now has 3 recalls on it and two have no remedy. It has been since October of 2025 since this has been going on with no fix, no solution, no reimbursement for payments still being made on a vehicle that is not drivable.

Steering problem #16

As I was driving I lost all power to the vehicle as well as the steering wheel locked. I was able to pull to the side of the road but the back end of my car was hanging out into traffic. The car flashed a message reading to shift into park which once I did I was able to turn the car off and back on again but the check engine light as well as a symbol of a tool remained up. Upon further investigation I now understood this was all due to an update on the uconnect screen system that was pushed out a day prior and many others had the same effect of their Jeeps completely turning off mid driving. This was extremely dangerous and terrifying as I had zero control over the car. Keeping lucky I am still alive! I do not feel comfortable continuing to drive this vehicle. Furthermore, the dealership nor the 1800 number for Jeep are willing or able to get my a loaner car nor assist with reimbursements for a rental car. They have no answer as to a repair for this faulty update. I am very disappointed in this entire scenario.

Steering problem #17

Vehicle completely lost power while driving nearly resulting in an accident. Engine cut off and loss of power occured including power steering. Vehicle stated to put car in park while vehicle was still in motion. Vehicle restarted but then the same thing happened. This occured 4 more times. I was able to make it to the dealership near by. I had young children in the car at the time.

Steering problem #18

On 10/11/25 approximately 9pm my vehicle completed an ota update initiated by the manufacturer. Upon completion of the update, I went for a drive. At approximately 30 mph, the vehicle suddenly shut off, shifted into neutral, and ceased to operate leaving me stranded in the middle of the road. The vehicle would not start, shift into neutral, or operate in any manner. Several warning instrument lights came on. After about 30 minutes, the vehicle started and continued to loose power several times before I could get it back home. We were lucky that we were not rear ended. There are hundreds of complaints on social media referring to the same situation for other Jeep 4xe vehicles after completing the ota update. Stellantis has not issued any official statement regarding this. This is a situation that could result in serious injury or death to many as the vehicle suddenly loses all functionality with no warning. Check engine light is now on the dash.

Steering problem #19

Check engine light went on while d on shifter simultaneously began flashing. Car lost power and steering locked.

Steering problem #20

The car performed an automatic update last night. Driving it today, the car automatically shut down multiple times on a busy street. My life was in danger multiple times. There is no solution and this is negligence.

Steering problem #21

Driving car stopped said to put in park, engine light comes on. Restart start driving put into park again . . Whilst on freeway! just stopped.

Steering problem #22

On October 11, 2025, in the morning, shortly after installing a software update recommended by Jeep via the vehicle's infotainment screen panel, I experienced a sudden and complete loss of vehicle power while driving on the road at approximately 45 mph. This failure prevented me from controlling the vehicle, as the steering wheel locked up, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and into a ditch. I was able to restart the vehicle, and it initially appeared to operate normally. However, the same issue recurred within 60 seconds of restarting the engine, with another sudden loss of power and steering control. This defect nearly resulted in a serious collision, posing a significant risk of bodily injury to myself and other motorists on the road. No injuries occurred, but the incident could have been catastrophic at highway speeds. I believe this may be related to a software or electrical defect in the vehicle, potentially linked to the recent update. I request that NHTSA investigate this as a potential safety recall issue, as similar complaints of power loss and steering failures after software updates have been reported in Jeep models. Please contact me for additional details or documentation.

Steering problem #23

I did the telematics update from 10/10/25 on 10/11/2025 and I lost power and complete control while driving car just shut off told me to put it in park but I couldn’t shift to park check engine came on. I was able to restart the car and it happened two more times before I was able to get to safety and call for a tow. It seems to be a wide spread issue. That could have caused serious accidents.

Steering problem #24

When driving on a main road, my engine suddenly lost power with no advance warning. I was forced to coast to side of the road in order to put it back in park and restart the engine. This happened 7 times during a 10 mile drive. It continues to happen no matter the distance driven.

Steering problem #25

After applying an ota (over the air) update from Jeep on 10/11/25 at approximately 1pm est, the vehicle would drive for about 100 yards and then lose all power. Check engine light came on and a message saying to put in park. This happened when I pulled out of a parking lot and was lucky enough to have enough momentum to get to the side of the road. Restarted the Jeep, drove another 100 yards in the shoulder and it happened again. Was able to get into a parking lot and had to get the Jeep towed to the dealership. I am waiting to hear from the dealership as to the resolution. As of this writing (10/12/25 @ 5:30 pm est, I have seen 100's of posts regarding the same issue from other Jeep owners and I have yet to see a formal notice from the manufacturer acknowledging the issue with an action plan. The complete lack of quality control from Jeep has put 1,000's of drivers in danger as the vehicle just shuts down without warning. I seriously hope no one is injured or killed due to the gross incompetence of this manufacturer.

Steering problem #26

While driving vehicle, the engine light came on, the steering locked up and the car stalled.

Steering problem #27

After a software update, the car would drive a few miles and then shut down in the middle of driving. You would be required to stop the car, put it in park, and restart the car. The car check engine light comes on and is in a crawl mode, with little acceleration. This is a wide spread issue across all 2024 Jeep Wranglers 4xe.

Steering problem #28

Complete loss of power and power steering. Repeated every 1. 5 minutes after restart.

Steering problem #29

After an update, the Jeep died completely in the middle of the road with a bunch of errors on the dash and would not restart. After about 10 minutes, it restarted but died again shortly after. A third try a while later and it ran in manual transmission mode to where we could get it home. Check engine light is on and vehicle is still acting odd.

Steering problem #30

I received a uconnect update message on 10 -11–25 after doing that update my check engine light came on and my vehicle stalled out losing power multiple times on a highway with heavy traffic. I was asked to drive the vehicle to the Jeep dealership heritage Jeep in harrisburg, pennsylvania they told me they would have to keep my Jeep. They did not know how long they would have it and they were working with Chrysler. As a nurse and a single 60-year-old woman I had no other transportation. I asked if I could bring my Jeep in the following week to see if an update would be available when I left the dealership, the engine light was off and the vehicle was running fine. On Friday 10 –17–25. I received another message that an update was sent from uconnect on 10-14-25 my engine light came back on and I lost several electronic features related to temperature reading, remote start, and some safety related services. I took my Jeep back up to heritage Jeep. It is there now. I had to take a shuttle home and I have no way to get to work they are not sure how long they’re going to have it. They are not sure if I will be able to get a rental car covered by Chrysler. I went to enterprise and they had no Chrysler available to rent due to this issuethere is no timeframe for fixing this situation and it has already cost me over $500 due to a missed weekend getaway 10-17-25. That I had to cancel on 10-17-25. I missed a day of work today and as a registered nurse today will cost me close to $350. I am afraid to drive my vehicle now after having it stall in traffic and almost being sideswiped when it stalled at a red light the Jeep dealership informed me they are not getting much information from Chrysler. I am paying $725 a month to lease this Jeep and now I’m afraid to drive it and according to the dealership, they don’t know when an update will be coming in to fix the uconnect problem this is absolutely unacceptable and I need assistance with this problem.

Steering problem #31

Over-the-air firmware update that caused an in-motion shutdown while driving. Various dash lights came on, shift to park indicator flashed, loss power, steering wheel stiffened up to the point it wouldn't move. There were no warnings before it went haywire. My family's safety was at risk as we were driving and it put us in danger and had to carefully get to the side of the road. We had it towed to Jeep where they say they fixed it but we have no trust to drive it now. The service advisor at the Jeep dealerships said "it looks like someone at Jeep pushed the big red button and sent out an update that wasn't ready yet" which is a huge concern for all Jeep owners.

Steering problem #32

Installed a mandatory update to car electronics on Friday night (oct. 10, 2025). The car -- an 8-month-old Jeep Wrangler sahara 4xe 2024 -- literally died while driving on a local highway at highway speeds. All warning lights lit up. Then the car just died. . . Had it towed to the local dealership where 4 other people already were being processed with the same problem. Two others walked in while I was there. Dealership provided "Jeep care" phone number but the office was closed over the weekend. Spent a weekend without a vehicle and contacted them on Monday at ~5:30 a. M. Pacific time. Spent almost an hour on the phone. (phone call recorded. ) was told that someone will contact us within 24 hrs to assist with vehicle rental/replacement while the issue is being resolved. It is Tuesday, oct. 14, 2025, afternoon. Spent multiple hours (!) on hold with "Jeep care. " no one knows what is going on. The dealership told me they have almost 100 cars on their lot with same problem. To date, no help from Jeep.

Steering problem #33

I was driving my vehicle on the highway at 60mph. The car turned itself off, I lost power steering and brakes and drove into a drainage culvert after almost hitting several cars. The vehicle would not restart initially and I had to wait 5 minutes before it started back up. It died 3 more times with in 1 mile before I made it to a safe area to park the vehicle. There was no warning before this happened.

Steering problem #34

On 10/10/25, I lost drive power after the ota uconnect update. On my drive, I abruptly had absolutely no acceleration, the gear indicator on the dash started flashing, the power mode indicator disappeared, an alert said shift into park and press the brake + start button, and the check engine light and red wrench lights came on. I was still able to steer and brake with power steering and brakes for maybe 30 seconds before those went out too. This happened in the middle on an intersection which was terrifying. After putting it into park and pressing the brake and start button it started back up and I could drive it normally for a little bit, but it happened two more times on my 1. 5 mi drive home. I called aaa to tow it to the dealership (herb chambers Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram fiat of millbury, 2 latti farm road). The dealership informed me that Jeep instructed them not to work on my vehicle. The dealership had me contact Jeep customer service myself on 10/13/25. I have called Jeep customer service three times with no update or communication from the case manager and I am without a vehicle as of the time of this submission. Both the dealership, herb chambers Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram fiat of millbury and Jeep customer service have not been cooperative or willing to assist me in this safety concern. I have lost a day and a half of work and still have no information or status update.

Steering problem #35

While driving the car just shit off. . Put it in park put my hazzards on and started the car back up. Put it to the test again while backing out of the driveway and it shut off while I’m reverse. The stereo has been glitching for about a couple of month where it constantly has to reboot while driving. It has now caused the issues for the whole car to just die while in motion. . This is I huge safety issue especially with younger kids. If I was on the highway when this would have happened who knows how much more fatal this could have been. I do a ton of highway driving and that’s all we have used the car for and for drive around our small town. I fear that even taking it to the dealership to get it fixed I am not sure I am comfortable in its after features it has. .

Steering problem #36

We’ve experienced multiple ongoing issues with this vehicle, and the dealership’s only suggestion so far has been to file a lemon law claim. Last month, the car began jerking excessively while driving typically at speeds between 35–45 mph. The best way to describe it is that it feels as though all the wheels lock up at once, causing a loud tire-screeching noise. It was a frightening experience. The dealership claimed to have resolved the issue with a “software update. ” however, just last night, my wife was stranded on the highway when the car suddenly started shutting down mid-drive, similar to what happens when a vehicle runs out of gas. The maximum speed she could reach was about 20 mph, and the check engine light came on. She switched from hybrid mode to esave (gas-only mode), which allowed her to get home safely. This morning, she tested it again. The check engine light was initially off, but after a short drive, it came back on and the vehicle started shutting down again. This Jeep is a lease, and despite being in the shop five times three of those for a full week the dealership continues to “service” it without providing a real solution. We are extremely concerned about the vehicle’s safety and reliability at this point.

Steering problem #37

Jeep pushed out an ota update for their uconnect system. Upon completion of this update, that occurred while I was driving, I lost control of my vehicle. My steering wheel locked up, all of the lights on my dashboard started flashing, and I was instructed to pull the Jeep over. I was unable to operate the vehicle and had to be towed.

Steering problem #38

Car stopped “bricked” in the middle of freeway. Had gas half full.

Steering problem #39

While driving my 2024 Jeep rubicon 4xe, both the check engine and “service battery” lights came on, and the vehicle suddenly shut down completely in the middle of a busy intersection. I lost all ability to accelerate, steer, or brake — the steering wheel locked, and the vehicle was inoperable in heavy traffic. I was trapped in the lane with vehicles approaching from all directions, unable to move or control the car in any way. It was a frightening and dangerous experience that could have resulted in a serious accident. This was the second time this same issue occurred. The first happened around may 17, 2024, when the vehicle had approximately 500 miles. The dealership repaired it under warranty and returned it to me. The most recent incident occurred around October 10, 2025, at approximately 10,000 miles. The san leandro Jeep Dodge ram Chrysler dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed that Jeep engineering is aware of the problem and that a fix is being developed, but there is no known repair or release timeline. They stated the only option was to clear the codes and return the vehicle. This is also my second Jeep 4xe to experience the exact same issue. My previous 4xe was repurchased by the manufacturer (fca/stellantis) in 2023 after similar “service battery” warnings and total shutdowns while driving. This ongoing defect is a severe safety hazard. The vehicle can lose all power, propulsion, and steering without warning, leaving the driver and others on the road in immediate danger. A total loss of control — especially while crossing an intersection or driving at speed — could easily result in a crash or fatal injury.

Steering problem #40

Jeep released an update for uconnect box. After it was automatically installed my Jeep Wrangler lost engine power and steering while in the middle of a round about. Barely had enough momentum to make out of the closest round about exit and no power to pull off the road. Dashboard flashed shift into park. Shifted into park and restarted the engine. Turned off the main road and it died again. This did it 3 more times trying to drive home. This is extremely dangerous since you lose steering and engine power. This could kill someone on a turn, highway, or intersection.

Steering problem #41

The car front end shakes at various times. It is intermittent, but it shakes from slight to severe on different occasions. The car has been to two dealerships and they drive car and cannot duplicate problem. . I read online it is common and is known as "the deadt wobble" Jeep acknowledges this but will not attempt to fix without duplicating the problem. . The car is still under warranty with 18000 miles. My concern is it should be fixed while under warranty and if warranty runs out it may fail and I will be stuck paying for the problem that should be fixed now. . This is my wifes car and we live in the mountains of nc. . This could be a very dangerous condition driving down the mountain in the rain and for this severe front end shaking. In my opinion it needs to be investigated with the possible recall to fix.

Steering problem #42

While driving my vehicel, seems that an update were installed that caused a sudden hard stop, the check engine signal turned on and the system asked to change from d to p. We had the fortune that it was in traffic, so the vehicle was almost stopped. After a restart, I was able to drive but 3 minutes later. . . It happened again. I was not being able to accelerate and the system asking to change to parking while driving at 30 mph. I was driving with my family and it was hard for us because my daughter feels unsecured. How is it possible that an update broke some vehicles?.

Steering problem #43

In October, my son was driving our Jeep Wrangler 4xe when the vehicle suddenly lost power steering, acceleration, and braking while multiple warning lights were flashing on the dashboard. The vehicle became very difficult to control and created a serious safety concern. We have a video showing all of the warning lights flashing during this incident (it is not allowing me to upload a video below as the file is too large) the vehicle also currently has recalls and service campaigns, including recall 78c related to a potential engine defect and hbmhcp related to the hybrid battery system. These issues make us feel the vehicle is unsafe and not reliable to drive. The recalls and issues have also affected our ability to use the vehicle as intended and have reduced the value of the vehicle. We are concerned that this vehicle may have a safety defect related to the engine or hybrid/electrical system that could cause loss of power, steering, braking, or vehicle control. We have been told there is currently no fix for these issues and that we should continue driving the vehicle, to park outside and not charge it. This makes us feel the vehicle may be unsafe and unreliable to drive. We are making monthly payments for a vehicle that does not behave as intended.

Steering problem #44

I am experiencing a severe and dangerous front-end vibration at freeway speeds between 60–65 mph, commonly known as “death wobble. ” the wobble is violent enough that I feel I could lose control of the vehicle. It makes the Jeep extremely unsafe to drive on the freeway. This is happening on a vehicle that is practically new with only 38,000 miles, which is unacceptable for a safety-related issue. I brought the vehicle to the dealership three times before my warranty expired, and the problem was never fixed. Now that the warranty period has passed, the dealership is telling me I must pay out of pocket for the repairs, even though this issue started and was reported while the vehicle was still under warranty.

Steering problem #45

When I first got it, I would get on the highway and once I hit 80mph it would do a wobble. I was told by the dealership it was "normal" and they couldn't replicate it. Then it got worse, anytime I hit 60mph on the hwy it wobbles.

Steering problem #46

Since I leased the car, I have taken it to the dealers 4 different times for the steering wheel shaking out of control the first time the "fixed" it but turned me away the 2nd and 3rd time. Each time I requested the left mid speaker to be checked and replaced but they refused to do anything about it until my last oil change 2 months ago. Last year around November they fixed and oil leak, but the cat never leaked oil form the bottom. The Jeep was burning oil not leaking oil and they never did a consumption test. I took it in because the oil levels were low. However, the speaker is still broken, and I did not return the Jeep because they would not give me a loaner car for the service even though it's under warranty. In addition, right front and back tires blew out and when I had the Jeep towed to the dealership for repairs, I noticed that the back tank next to the muffler was leaking. While the Jeep was at the dealership waiting to be serviced, it was vandalized with the rear left window busted out and pain job damaged. My personal registration and insurance information among other things was taken as well. It's been 3 and a half weeks, and they are jerking me around about the repairs. Yesterday, I talked to the service manager (jose & rob) they were very condescending about having the repairs done. Upon talking to them I was told that the found and fixed another 'oil leak" but never did a consumption test. I didn't notice the oil being low when I turned in the Jeep on 4/14/25, so they assumed that the leak that I mention was coming from the engine and not the rear and found another leak but had not checked the rear for the leak that I requested them to check. In addition, they claimed that they fixed the oil "leak" without doing a consumption test. I turned the Jeep in on 4/14/25 and the vandalism happened on 4/24/25. Fyi this site won't allow me to download the videos of the Jeep doing the "death wabble (shake)". Please email me so I can forward that to you.

Steering problem #47

Firsts, "service shifter" came up on the dash, with no other lights. Followed by the check engine light. After that, there was a red tortoise that appeared on the dash that said "vehicle speed may be limited". After which the throttle response was limited and I couldn't accelerate over 10 mph. Within 30 seconds of that the steering wheel locked up, not allowing me to turn and the throttle response died. The vehicle stopped. I turned the vehicle off and back on and began to drive again, almost immediately the same error messages came up, followed by a locked steering wheel (unable to turn) and no acceleration. At this point, the dash board began to illuminate all lights, "auto emergency braking unavailable", "service shifter" "service transmission" etc. With the fuel cluster jumping and dropping. Following this, the windshield wipers began to go without control and then the vehicle died and was unable to be started.

Steering problem #48

Car was shaking over anytime went over 70miles an hour. Would not stay in lane . Steering dampener was replaced . Car continues to do this when I hit a bump. I’ve taken it back two more times, the dealer says they cannot duplicate the problem and therefore cannot fix it . It pulls completely to the other side and snaps back . They said it’s because the back is heavier than the front . They claim my tires are ok and everything looks good . It does not feel good and it does not feel like it did when I purchase the car . I drive it every day and my passengers have also noticed the problem . I am getting close to the end of my warranty and I have a feeling the dealer is going to let it run out and then tell me they found the problem .

Steering problem #49

Upon reaching about 60 mph on the freeway, the vehicle suddenly began to shake violently, severely reducing my ability to steer and control the vehicle. After quickly (and dangerously) reducing my speed, it stopped, but it occurred again two more times. I pulled over and turned the car off, did a quick inspection and found nothing out of order. When I resumed my trip, the problem did not occur again. After getting home, I searched the internet and found out that my Jeep suffered from what is called the "death wobble". Apparently, Jeep has known about the problem for years and has not corrected this dangerous and scary defect.

Steering problem #50

When traveling on the highway if you switch lanes or hit a bump, the Jeep shakes violently and you have to hit your brakes to make it stop. A rented vehicle of the same make model and year had the same issue for family members in September of 2024. We have been taking video, took it to Jeep and the tech took it for a 3 mile ride (non highway) and said nothing is wrong but they recommended a dampener or stabilizers, but this Jeep is $1100/month and brand new. There are no warnings, and the shaking is absolutely hard to control. Less than 10,000 miles and it’s a safety concern for any Jeep on the highways. It’s dangerous for all vehicles to be around the Jeep when it begins shaking. All we can do for now, unless we wreck, is video it’s issue. We have traveled from kansas to washington and are almost back to kansas, but the issue has gotten more dangerous as we have traveled. It feels like the wheels will actually fall off the arms of the Jeep. It’s incredibly scary. Video not an option to upload below, but we can get info from Jeep tech showing we told them the issue. The Jeep is available for inspection and the issue will not stop, it’s a constant and there’s no way this is normal.

Steering problem #51

I have not had any incident with this vehicle as of yet, but I bought it brand new a few months ago from westgate motors in raleigh, north carolina. It’s a brand new Jeep. It only had 12 miles when we got it from the start it has bad steering and it steers all over the road while you’re driving it you can be driving it all of a sudden it’ll just start to switch lanes or something or getting into another lane and then it feels as if the back end starts to sway like it was hit with a very bad wind. The cruise control varies up and down at times without even touching it. Coming down a hill once it moved over into her on coming lane. I had it back at the dealer several times and was told this is normal for Jeeps due to their new design since 2018. I called Jeep corp and they told me to call the dealer nothing they could or would do to help me. Dealer told me nothing they could do either and if I brought it back I would the trade in amount I had with my previous car. I’m writing here and letting my family know they if anything happens to me when driving this Jeep to please have an investigation done. I have told the dealer I do not feel this is safe to be on the roads.

Steering problem #52

I was making a right turn at approximately 20mph and the car stalled and gas pedal felt empty. I got the car into park. Then I tried to restart the vehicle in order to get it out of the road - I could not get into neutral to push out of the road. It stalled in the middle of the road which is extremely scary. It was approximately 4:20pm. I tried to restart to get into esave but it didn't start. The fuse box kept making clicking noises. It read "service charging system" and the check engine light came on. This problem is extremely.

Issue: front end violent death wobble at interstate [xxx] speed of 75mph on [xxx] outside benson az (unexpected and harsh). Hit rough patch in road and steering wheel and front end violently shook side to side for about 5 minutes until I slowed to below 50mph. Almost crashed into other cars but I regained control at a slower speed and had no accident. Vehicle purchased on [xxx] new. Slow 45mph initial test drive had no wobble. Dealer attempted to repair on 2 occasions in June 2024 but could not guarantee it fixed. They bled and primed its newer dampener which was empty/never primed. Supposedly it was the newer upgraded steering dampener that was to have fixed this issue but did not fix it. Had 3 more minor wobbles after dealer fixes on the next 3 weekends driving on [xxx] at 70mph but these were less intense and manageable (did not scare me so much as I was expecting them), now I locally drive it with no major issues. Will have dealer review at the next 5000 mile service. This death wobble should not be in a $58000 Jeep sahara. Very scary. Dealer confirmed issue, but applied no permanent fix. Said to drive under 75mph and be aware of the front beam axle feelings. No messages or warnings before, during or afterwards. The wobbles catch you by surprise. After these experiences I can drive it okay. I have owned over 10 Jeeps and none had this wobble issue. If informed about this sahara's wobble, I would not have bought it. Dealer made no effort to replace vehicle or refund my money. So I am stuck. The Jeep forums mention this being an issue for 2024 saharas and some 4xe Jeeps. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Steering problem #56

When driving through the a parking lot on my way to work, my brand new Wrangler with just over 1000 miles stalled/stopped running and lost power steering and wouldn’t restart for about 10 mins. I got a bunch of error messages but I can’t remember them all but one was about servicing the charging station (it wasn’t plugged in) and I had a check engine light stay on after I finally got it to start. It’s currently at the dealership and the tech mentioned that he saw there was a pim (power inverter module) code that looks to have malfunctioned. They haven’t been able to duplicate the error yet at the dealership. My safety will for sure be at risk if the dealership doesn’t fix it because my car could randomly turn off on the highway and could put me at risk of being hit or if I was crossing traffic and it stalled in the middle of a lane causing me to get or it could leave me stranded in a dangerous area. No one other than the dealership maintenance department a has inspected yet.

Steering problem #57

Steering wheel has excessive play while driving, forcing driver to constantly correct when driving down the highway. Jeep will drift out of lane on its own putting all drivers at risk. From time to time the steering gets better for one trip but then back to being sloppy the next drive. One dealership said it needs steering box replaced, the place which I bought it from new, said it is “just a Jeep thing. ” both dealerships said that they checked other steering components: tire pressure, ball joints, etc. No warning lights have come about at any time. There are forums online littered with comments of people with similar issues. No accidents have taken place at this time fortunately.

Steering problem #58

On 15 Dec 2023, my wife was driving down the highway and vehicle started to "buck" and almost stalled out. Check engine light came. She was able to make it to the dealer. Dealer ran the diagnostics and received the p0032, p0171, p2097 and p0300 codes. The dealer found the attached document with basically no repair available. We contacted Jeep customer service and were told that it needs a software update, however, they did not know when it would be available. I was not satisfied with that answer and the case was transferred to Jeep retention. In the meantime, we picked up our Jeep and was advised by the service advisor that this is a known issue and advised us to keep the star publication in the Jeep so if/when it happens again, they will know what to do. This isn't something we can fix since resetting the fuel system requires their equipment. Jeep retention just reiterated what customer service said. Needs software update and don't know when it's available. Jeep customer care case number is 88338433.
