Jeep 4xe third or fourth recall due to fire safety . Urgent: fire risk when parked an urgent safety recall has been issued for this vehicle and the manufacturer has recommended that you follow their instructions on how and where to park this vehicle. More information is available under NHTSA recall number 25v741000. Manufacturer recall number68c.
My vehicle has two fire-risk recalls with no remedy. It may catch fire while parked or driving. I cannot safely store or use it, and the manufacturer cannot repair it. I need NHTSA assistance to force action.
Documenting a recall notice from Jeep stating that sand debris is inside engine compartment. The sand debris was created when Jeep cast the engine. I have contacted multiple Jeep dealerships and they have stated that they cannot provide a loaner vehicle.
This is the third recall on my vehicle. First two were fixed. This one has no repair and no eta in sight. Ridiculous.
Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe recall: 78c / NHTSA 25v-766 mileage: 6,975 miles location: California complaint: my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is under safety recall 78c (NHTSA 25v-766) for catastrophic engine failure, fire risk, and unexpected/unrecoverable loss of propulsion. The recall notice states that the engine may contain sand contamination from the casting process, which can cause sudden engine failure and a potential vehicle fire without warning. The biggest concern is that no remedy exists, and the manufacturer has stated the repair is “under development. ” this means I am driving (or parked with) a vehicle that may suddenly lose power or catch fire. This creates a major safety hazard for me, my passengers, and the public. My vehicle has only 6,975 miles and is well within warranty, yet neither Jeep nor the dealership can perform any repair to address this safety defect. I am requesting NHTSA intervention to ensure the manufacturer provides a remedy, loaner vehicle, or buyback for unsafe vehicles with no available repair. Thank you.
My Jeep Wrangler 4xe is currently under an active safety recall due to a high-voltage battery fire risk. Stellantis has instructed owners not to park the vehicle near structures and not to charge it until a repair is available. I live in a multi-unit residential building, and it is not possible to park away from structures, which makes it impossible to comply with the manufacturer's safety instructions. I also have a newborn, making this an immediate safety concern. There is no repair available at this time, and no timeline for a permanent remedy. Despite this, I am still required to make full lease payments and retain possession of a vehicle that cannot be safely used or stored. Stellantis has offered only a rental vehicle, which does not resolve the ongoing safety risk, housing limitations, or financial burden associated with this recall. This defect substantially impairs the safe use of the vehicle and poses a fire hazard to occupants and nearby residences. I am requesting regulatory review and assistance.
This recalled vehicle cannot be safely driven. No remedy is available. I am paying for a lease I cannot use and requesting federal assistance for a lease termination or replacement.
There was no specific incident with my car. This was a voluntary safety recall due to issues with the hybrid models of Jeeps. There is risk of fire. There is no remedy. This is a safety issue and I am unable to use the car with benefits of hybrid and battery technology as it was sold to me.
I am submitting this complaint regarding my leased Jeep Wrangler 4xe, which has been affected by two recalls: recall 68c: my vehicle was not drivable for over 60 days while awaiting a repair under this recall. For 60+ days this recall was a fire risk, left me unable to charge my vehicle, and I was advised to park away from structures or other vehicles. This caused a significant and unreasonable loss of use, even though a fix is now available. Recall 78c: my vehicle is currently affected by recall 78c, for which no remedy is available. Because of this recall, I have been instructed to limit vehicle operation due to safety concerns, including the risk of engine failure, unexpected vehicle crash, and fire. These restrictions prevent normal and safe use of the vehicle. The combination of these recalls has resulted in substantial impairment of the vehicle’s use and safety. Stellantis has had more than a reasonable opportunity to repair these defects. I am concerned that the vehicle poses an ongoing safety risk and that delays in remedy are unreasonable. I request that NHTSA document this complaint and investigate stellantis’ handling of recalls 68c and 78c, and I am submitting this in conjunction with a formal ohio lemon law demand for lease repurchase.
This is a leased vehicle that has had 3 recalls : 2 recalls , that after months of waiting, could be schedule for a potential fix (done on 12/31). There is 1 that still has no fix. These are highly dangers risks (fires, explosions, complete shut down while driving, etc) this is my family vehicle, children are in this car. I am currently paying well more than the car is valued at since it depriciated do to risks of safty, and I am risking my children's and my own life believing that there will be a fix and I dont explode taking them to school or myself to work. This vehicle has shut down on me twice in 8 weeks before having the recalls that could be done scheduled. It just dies no interior lights, no way to shift it out of gear to get it to safe place to be in a dead vehicle. Since having the 2 recalls and the 12v looked at it has been running in form mode. . Not why you purchase a hybrid. Jeep customer care is a joke and stallantis (also my leasing company) will only retuns my calls if I “forget” to make payment by the 10th of the month…finally figured that out. My guess is a lemon law attorney may be the only way to protect my family, since the only ones who actually care about the concers and safty of myself and my chhildrens are the dealership. This was my families 5th Jeep and could possiblly be our last.
There are 3 recalls on the 2024 Jeep Wranglers 4xe. They include a fire risk. We are not supposed to charge our vehicles and not park them near structures. This defeats the entire purpose of getting a electric vehicle. This car can not function for the reason it is purchased. Not being able to park in a garage as well? this is crazy! according to your website and Jeep, it has been 2 months since the first recall and there is no remedy available. I'm not sure what we are exepted to deem a "reasonable" amount of time for a remedy, but two months of nothing is plenty long in my book. Plus, when there is a remedy it will take time to book appointments then taking time off work to get this fixed. There are been many recalls concerning the Jeep batteries on past models. Shouldn't this have been taken care of before the sold more? another issue is resale value. How will I be able to get full value of my car's worth with recalls and worries of future ones?.
I have been dissecting and putting off the update of the uconnect software that has recently been known to brick vehicles for about five days now when I was stopped at a light, the car push through the update andand auto updated without my selecting to do so. This caused the car to turn to a message saying to put it in park and press start in order to drive and turned on the check engine light. Luckily this is a long light, but I had to restart the vehicle in order to get it moving dirt before the traffic started to flow.
Software update caused my Jeep to go into automatic engine shutdown while driving on a busy street. The d started to flash and screen said to put in park then Jeep glitched and jerked and I had to stop. This happened multiple times while I attempted to safely get home. Check engine light came on. I made it home. Waited a few hours. Turned Jeep off and on. Waited another half hour. Tried again multiple times throughout night then light happened to go off.
Vehicle shutdown. Loss of motive power after updated software from uconnect. Check engine light pop up and unable to drive.
Vehicle lost acceleration and power while driving on my way to work. I was able to restart the Jeep and get it off the road. I was able to pull the obd codes from the Jeep; p1e1d. I then remembered the last time I drove the Jeep, it prompted for a uconnect update (ota). This morning was the first time driving it since that update.
My Wrangler 4xe underwent a software update on 10/11 and since then has been stalling. It has been throwing error codes for a “stability control” issue. The car shuts off regardless of your speed, which is extremely dangerous. It left us stranded in the middle of the road several times in our 15 minute drive.
As I was driving I lost all power to the vehicle as well as the steering wheel locked. I was able to pull to the side of the road but the back end of my car was hanging out into traffic. The car flashed a message reading to shift into park which once I did I was able to turn the car off and back on again but the check engine light as well as a symbol of a tool remained up. Upon further investigation I now understood this was all due to an update on the uconnect screen system that was pushed out a day prior and many others had the same effect of their Jeeps completely turning off mid driving. This was extremely dangerous and terrifying as I had zero control over the car. Keeping lucky I am still alive! I do not feel comfortable continuing to drive this vehicle. Furthermore, the dealership nor the 1800 number for Jeep are willing or able to get my a loaner car nor assist with reimbursements for a rental car. They have no answer as to a repair for this faulty update. I am very disappointed in this entire scenario.
I was driving on the freeway when the vehicle randomly shut off and jolted me and my passengers. After turning the car off then back on the vehicle would drive fonafew miles and then repeat jolt and shut off. This seems to be linked to a software update that I did last night.
Received over ota update on Friday October 10th and Saturday the car was not drivable. . The car would start but shut off and lose power and the message was to shift into park and restart car. . This happened several times till I was able to drive the less than a mile to get home. . Thankfully this happened very close to my as there was no warning. . . And because the car just shut off if I was on a highway this would have caused an accident. .
The latest uconnect 5 update was performed by the Jeep dealership on my 2024 Wrangler 4xe on October 11th, 2024. After leaving the dealership, the vehicle shut off while driving and displayed a message instructing me to “shift to park. ” I lost propulsion and power steering, creating an immediate safety hazard. The dealership had just completed the update and told me it was safe to drive. Based on reports circulating among other 2024 Wrangler 4xe owners, this appears to be a widespread issue linked to the most recent uconnect 5 update (released around October 10, 2025). Please investigate this issue as a potential safety defect related to the software update.
While driving the vehicle shut down unexpectedly. This occurred in the first minutes of driving after a software update the night before. I restarted the vehicle and vehicle and it shut down 4 more times in 1 mile of driving.
While driving in e save mode car made me put vehicle in park mid drive & shuts off.
On Saturday, October 11, 2025, I was driving down hill at a good speed, when all of a sudden my car completely turned off and almost threw me through the windshield. I found out that this was a result of an ota update that I was not informed of. After this occurred and I finally got my vehicle to start, all the electric started glitching and the rear view camera only operates sometimes. This car is very dangerous I will not get back in it ever again. My vehicle is at coastline Chrysler in san juan capistrano, California where it will remain as I do not intend on ever getting back in it again. I am requesting to get out of the last 11 months of my lease and a full refund for 25 lease payments as well as my $4500 cash deposit upon leasing. I am in a rental and I cannot afford it so I need immediate action.
The Jeep would shut off while driving. Lights in dash flash and beep and a message is displayed to put car in park to start while the vehicle is off but coasting.
The newest update caused the car to turn off while driving the vehicle. Check engine light is still turned on and I can’t drive the vehicle in any of the 3 modes it has.
After an automatic uconnect software update on Saturday 10/11/25, my vehicle stalled out multiple times while driving. Even though it's in drive, the vehicle automatically shifted into park, the dashboard lit up, and the vehicle dead stopped in the middle of traffic. I took it to a Jeep dealership near me where they said many drivers are having the same issue. Worst than that, is that I had to call Chrysler just to get a rental car approval, but since the incident happened on a Saturday of a holiday weekend, I have been 4 days without a car.
Was driving on highway at speed of 60mph then the vehicle loss motive and drifted with no power. Check engine light came on and was able to move to the shoulder. I was able to restart the vehicle but would move for a min then loose power again. Didn't matter whether on electric, hybrid,or gas.
Immediately following a uconnect software update performed around 11:00 am on October 11, 2025, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler rubicon 4xe stalled multiple times while driving on the highway. The vehicle lost power and became inoperable, creating an extremely dangerous situation. I was transporting my child at the time. Trouble code: p1e1d. Number of stalls: 3 total (1 on highway, 2 shortly after). The dealer confirmed they had received around 12 other Wrangler 4xe vehicles towed in the same day for the same issue, and another nearby dealer reported over 15. I have since learned through online owner forums that many other 2024 Wrangler 4xe owners are experiencing identical failures after the same software update within the last 48 hours. Jeep/stellantis has not issued any public statement or safety notice. This is a critical safety hazard affecting many vehicles and should be treated as a potential defect related to the most recent uconnect update.
Installed telematics box module update on 10/10/25. Now the Jeep is continuously saying to service the electronic assistance system and will lose complete power while driving and display the “shift to park” and service engine light is on (lost power 3 times in less than a 2 mile distance).
After over the air update "uconnect box update" 10 October 2025 I was driving on local road 15 mph/h after 2 minuts I get notice on dash " shift to park" power train go off lost power I need to pull over put car I park shut off restart power was back I was able drive 400 feet same thing lost power check engine light comes on after rebooting screen I was able drive 15 miles again lost engine power and power steering every time I got same messege " shift to park ".
The uconnect system updated last night this morning the Jeep shuts off while driving about every . 5-1 mile.
Diving when alert came on that said service charging system and vehicle was going to be disabled. With in seconds vehicle powered off. I was barely able to pull off and part of my vehicle was still stuck sticking out on a busy road. Vehicles check engine light came, battery light and a message about the charging system. Has to have the vehicle towed to the dealer. I was told this was the 4th Jeep towed there today after yesterday’s update.
While driving my vehicle on October the day after the over the air software update was pushed out I got in my vehicle and started to drive and about a half mile from my house the vehicle shut off and said to put in park. I did that and then restarted the vehicle. Immediately after I did that and started to drive the check engine light came on. I had noticed earlier that people were discussing this on a facebook group so I looked again and saw several people were having the same issue. Some said to try and soft reset the uconnect device by have the vehicle in acc mode and holding the power and tune button down until it resets. I did this and and after it reset I was able to drive the vehicle but the check engine light stayed on. I continued driving to the store and when I was almost home it shut off again. I then did the reset and made it back home. Once I got home I disconnected the battery and let it set for about an hour unplugged. When I plugged it back in I did another reset. The check engine light was off due to disconnecting the battery and I did not have any more issues with this.
Used 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe on 10/11/25 and stalled 8 times in 2 miles. Had to come to complete stop put in park and restart . I circled back home and used my husbands car to run errand. I tried calling my dealer and they were closed. My husband tried the Jeep the next day and engine light was on but Jeep ran fine. I learned from a Jeep forum today that there was an update released on uconnect on Friday 10/10/25 and it affected lots of Jeep owners with the same symptoms . I did see the notification on Saturday and delayed it the 1st time and Jeep ran fine but the accepted it later and it happened after that. Thank god I was in my quiet neighborhood and returned the Jeep home safely that day. We will report this to our dealer on Monday when they open as this was scary and the engine light is still on.
Following last nights software update, this morning while driving car alert beeped and dash read “shift to p to start” and engine light came on. I restarted and engine light on. Car seemed to be in electric and gas mode at the same time.
