36 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/23/2025

I lease a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN [xxx] ). On 10/23/2025, while traveling about 50 mph, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion and the dash displayed “put in park to drive. ” I had to coast through traffic, stop, shift to park, and fully restart to regain drive. Within minutes it recurred. This defect is unpredictable and dangerous. I regularly commute on the ohio turnpike at highway speeds and I cannot risk driving this vehicle because it can cut power without warning, leaving me unable to accelerate while surrounding traffic closes in. I am avoiding highway use entirely and limiting all driving due to the high risk of rear-end collision during a power loss. The vehicle is unsafe to operate until a permanent remedy exists. Background: the vehicle has previously exhibited powertrain/electrical issues (including overheating) and spent ~2. 5 weeks at the dealer over the summer. Early incidents occurred under 18,000 miles. Recall context: mopar and NHTSA show an open safety recall a7c / 25v-710 on my VIN for loss of motive power; status “remedy not yet available. ” the vehicle is available for inspection by NHTSA or the manufacturer. I can provide screenshots/video of the “put in park to drive” message and repair records upon request. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

37 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/22/2025

My car has shut off three different times while driving, completely losing power in the middle of the road. It then turned back on by itself and suddenly accelerated on its own. The check engine light is on, and the sos system keeps activating and won’t turn off. What’s worse is that after taking it to the dealership, they’re now trying to return the car to me even though there’s an open safety recall that hasn’t been fixed. This is a major safety concern that needs immediate attention.

38 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2025

The vehicle experienced repeated loss-of-power and stalling events while driving, including after a software update, which required the vehicle to be towed to a dealership. Similar drivability issues occurred earlier after purchase. The vehicle currently has multiple open safety recalls. Despite repeated attempts to work with the manufacturer and assurances of follow-up by assigned specialists, no direct contact or resolution was provided. My wife will no longer drive the vehicle because it has stalled due to software loads, and we can’t park it in our garage in fear of fire and there are other recalls as well. We bought it because it was electric and Jeep advised you should not plug it in to charge the battery.

39 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/16/2025

We are aware of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe software update which basically disables the Wrangler and have been diligent about selecting the red x to not accept the update. This morning on my son’s way to work the update went through anyway resulting in a loss of power forcing him to stop the vehicle. Thankfully he was able to limp the Jeep to our local service station where the firmware over the air update “fix” was able to be applied and the vehicle is functioning again. This is a major concern for several reasons, he was a minute away from one of the busiest interstates in new york, where this could have been a very serious incident, second the vehicle updated regardless of user input to defer or not install. Had we not have been prepared for this because of social media, not Jeep, this would have had serious implications.

40 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2025

The car installed an upgrade over the air, in the background, and while driving it shut down. It flashes the screens and shut down while in drive on a busy road. Steering wheel locked and had to turn on and off aeveral times just to move slowly to the side away from oncoming vehicles. After looking online, found article about this issue across the country in the models, and tried the reset instructions. Eventually was able to keep it on and drive slowly to the dealer about 25miles away. They've had it since yesterday saying they reaching out to engineering unable to figure out how to fix.

42 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2025

After installing an ota update . The vehicle kept stalling while I was driving it . It stalled 3 times in less than half a mile . Completely stops midway all lights on dashboard start flashing asking to be put on park then start . This is extremely dangerous while driving especially on freeways. I almost got rearended at least 3 times when this happened. My safety and the safety of everyone on the road that day was risked.

43 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/14/2025

Car flashed “shift to park”, stalled in an intersection and now check engine light is on. This is related to Jeep’s ridiculous and unacceptable software issue. Despite a “fix” being allegedly issued by Jeep, this issue still happened today November 14th despite me never accepting their flawed software update. This is an alarming safety issue.

44 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/14/2025

Driving down road, approximately 25 mph the Jeep abruptly stopped, nothing no power to any part of the vehicle , loss of drive power. Thankfully no one was behind me for sure I would have been hit in the rear, I am so afraid to drive the vehicle , as this has happened on two occasions late September and October 14 2025. Already. The dealer confirmed it as I sent a picture of the dash board that was taken the second incident , with all the things that lit up. No not one time was there any warning, messages or lights prior to incident. I contacted deaership to make apt was told "dont bring it in" there is no remedy, "ican give you the 800 number for Chrysler/Jeep" early November I got recall notice for the battery that could "go on fire" or "blow up" - I called and the dealer gave me an appointment for 1/20/26 - 3 months??? iasked if they can also address the 2nd recall for this problem that has occurred 2 times out of nowhere was told we will go over this when you come in. I requested a loaner car thats why they made my apt 3 months away, they claim didnt have a loaner until then. Went on 1/20/26 the tech called me twice once to tell me there is no remedy to fix ac7 problem and they will see what can be done about "battery issue recall, called again asking ridiculous questions like how are you charging the vehicle, are you using an after market charger, as if you didnt lease me this vehichle with the charge. . . I felt like they where trying to say any issue was my fault. I sent the tech a text to let him know that I really am not comfortable picking up the vehicle without the no remedy for the issue and concerned for my safety and the safety of my family. He said "you should be alright" "you should be ok to drive", I told him that I wasn't reassured that I "should" be ok??? I said I wanted to discuss getting a loaner or replacement vehicle, he said that was not going to happen & if I didnt pick the vehicle I would be charged $50/day for loaner.

45 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/14/2025

After a uconnect software update was performed the vehicle shutdown. Upon starting the vehicle the check engine light came on with several other dashboard lights and after driving the car for a few seconds the engine would shut down and would say to park and turn off vehicle. After a couple restarts and experiencing the same shutdown two more times I was able to drive in e-save but felt the vehicle was in limp mode and the engine light still remained illuminated. Called the Jeep dealership and explained the problem and the first thing they asked was did you just do a software update. I said yes and he said that’s the problem that they just had 35 Jeep Wrangler 4xe’s towed to their dealership yesterday. He said that Jeep does not have a fix for the issue as of yet. It throws a fault code p1e1d. So seems that the recent uconnect software update is rendering all Jeep Wrangler 4xe’s useless.

46 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/14/2025

While driving on the road the vehicle suddenly loses power and shuts down. The check engine light illuminates and a message saying shift to park appears on the dashboard. You have no control of speed at this point. The vehicle stops and stalls in the middle of the road. Once you shift to park you have to completely shut off the vehicle while in the middle of the road and restart the engine. The vehicle will drive a few hundred feet and repeat the stall. It is completely scary and dangerous.

47 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/14/2025

After an ota update, while driving, the vehicle abruptly stopped working and I was forced to pull over. The check engine light went on and a message requesting service to the electric charging module was shown. After cycling power a few times the car worked again. This happened again on the way home. The manufacturer Jeepcares account advised that the car needs to be towed to a dealer immediately.

Failure Date: 10/13/2025

After an ota firmware update, I started driving as normal for a couple of blocks, I stopped to pick up my wife who was walking. She got into the car, loses the door as I began to accelerate the car suddenly stopped, the engine quit immediately. I put the transmission back in park I was able to restart and proceed to my destination a short distance away. The check engine light was illuminated. After an hour stop I started the vehicle to return home it drove normal and the cel cleared itself. My concern is that this could happen again and could be catastrophic at highway speeds.

51 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2025

While I was en route to get a recall serviced my vehicle powered off while I was driving, at a speed of 25mph, out of my neighborhood. The dashboard instructed me to put the vehicle in park (p), press the brake and the start button to power on the engine. The check engine light remained on and the vehicle started driving real sluggish. I couldn’t get above 10mph. I pulled into a parking lot and sat called the Jeep service department where I was going to have it serviced. I informed them of the issue so they could look at it, if I made it to them. The warnings for the check engine light said service stability controls. I proceeded to drive very slowly with my hazards on and still on 10mph very ruggedly; then all of a sudden the vehicle started to pick up speed and the check engine light went off. I was able to get on the highway and safely make it to the Jeep service center where they checked my vehicle but could not find a problem.

52 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2025

The Jeep lost power after only driving abojt a mile down the road. All the lights came on the dash and I had to pull over until it came to a slow stop, the brakes didn’t seem like they working. Once in park I got a dash light that said service charging system. I was not able to move it out of park to even neutral. After about 15 minutes I was able to get it to start and drove it home about 1 mile- it did the same thing. When it restarted the check engine light is on.

53 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2025

Jeep over the air update caused my car to shut off completely in the middle of an intersection. I had to come to a complete and violent stop and restart the car. This happened three more times trying to get home - with kids in the car - though thankfully subsequent times were kess precarious because I took side streets and was careful.

54 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2025

The car updated with the latest uconnect on Friday night. The next morning car drove fine for about . 5 miles, the drive gear selector on the screen started to flash with no power to the car. The car had stopped accelerating in heavy traffic with no where to pull over on the side of the road. Performed same issues 3 times, after the third time the car went into limp mode. Had to be towed to dealer, it is currently in service on limp mode with no next steps.

55 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2025

Friday, 10/10/25- and over the air update loaded via the radio. Online chatter had rumors of full loss of propulsion after the update, recommendation was to cancel the update to prevent failure. I cancelled the update multiple times. On Sunday afternoon, [xxx]- uconnect software update ran anyway. Within 30 seconds of completion, the vehicle loss power on the highway, full motor/engine shut down on a busy highway. Warning lights and sounds galore, including "shift to park, service transmission. " pulled over, did a full key cycle/restart, vehicle had numerous dashboard warning lights on. Limped vehicle toward home. Would run for 30 seconds, then shut down again. Had to repeat this cycle 5 times to get home 1 mile. Absolutely no guidance from Jeep, except for a few posts on social media pages. There was another software update that when through, and the vehicle seems to be working better now, but we do not trust it. Losing motive power on the highway with my wife and [xxx] child is a major safety issue, which could lead to injury or death. Demanding full investigation to the issue, and a discontinuation of forced ota updates. Recall. Now! information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

56 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2025

On October 12, 2025, while I was driving, the vehicle abruptly shut off, locked up, and completely stalled while in motion. This created an immediate and serious hazard to my safety and to other drivers on the road. I contacted Jeep to report the incident, but I was informed that no service appointments were available for several weeks. I was also told that Jeep currently does not have a repair or remedy for this issue. At present, Jeep has acknowledged a safety defect, has no available solution, and cannot perform a timely repair. The vehicle is unsafe to operate and cannot be used for its intended purpose. I rely on reliable transportation for my personal and professional obligations and cannot be without a safe vehicle for an extended period while Jeep attempts to resolve a known safety problem. Given that Jeep is unable to repair the defect and is effectively in breach of its warranty obligations, I am requesting that stellantis financial services immediately terminate my lease without any early termination fees, penalties, or additional charges. I must obtain a dependable vehicle from a manufacturer that can provide safe and operable transportation.

57 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2025

There are 2 open safety recalls on this vehicle. One for stopping which it already did and one for fire. My vehicle stopped and lost all power while going 35 mph. I am not safe in this vehicle and want my lease voided.

58 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2025

Completed ota update previous day. Driving the next day 1 mile into the drive the check engine light, went off, a warning on the dash said something about electrical stability system failure, showed a picture of the Jeep with red electrical highlighted. The car ran very poorly, could not accelerate and the car slowed from 35 to 15. During this time the car flashed instructions to put the car in park. After about 1/2 mile I slowed to stop and put the Jeep in park. Restarted by pushing holding brake and pushing start button. Ran well for 10 + miles, then same thing happend again. The Jeep flashed engine warning light, dings and lights flashing. Had to into the left turn lane and came to stop at the stop light. Put the Jeep in park again, tried to restart but this time it did not restart. The gear stuck in park with the p flashing on the indicator. Had to pull the emergency release cord to put Jeep into n to push to a safe location. Jeep failed to start or move from p and is at the shop now.

60 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2025

Driving on our way to a Jeep invasion (local). We had our 3 children in the back seat. The Jeep was traveling about 45 mph and the accelerator stopped working. Thankfully we were not on a freeway and no one was behind us. We had to pull over and turn the Jeep off and then back on. It happened 3 times on the way there. We took it into the local dealership and they ran a test on it. We were told it happened because of the uconnect update performed over the weekend. We are currently trying to get out of our lease. We only have 16k miles on it and have taken it into the dealership 5+ times due to issues similar to this. But we have never had to worry about our safety the previous times. It has become a driving risk for us and we do not feel comfortable taking our children in it anymore. I feel like the vehicle shutting down felt the same as the brake system not working while we were driving. We had the 4xe battery replaced in the past year because we were left stranded in a parking lot because the vehicle would not turn on.

11-oct-2025 - made it about 1/2 mile on esave mode @ about 5-6pm. Engine shut down and lost all power going approximately 40mph of dr. Braley road in freetown. Controlled vehicle until it stopper at the stop sign at the corner of roundsville road and put the car in park and restarted the engine. With esave mode made it about 1/4 of a mile back towards home before it started again and had to repeat the process of stopping putting the car in park and restarting. Used electric mode to get home. 12-oct-2025 - attempted again on Sunday and got about 1/4 of a mile before the problem happened again. 63 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/11/2025

The vehicle lost significant power while driving. I was only able to go 30mph, then a message told me to restart the vehicle with the brake pressed and start button. Then after it restarted I drove and it would only go 11 mph. Research online has indicated numerous Jeep Wrangler owners having this issue after applying an over the air update. The vehicle slowed down rapidly, this was very dangerous and put my family at risk. Since there was no brake lights indicated a slow down, vehicles behind me had to abruptly slow down. This could have cause an accident. The check engine light came on and has stayed on. This happened on 11 October 25, which is a Saturday, the dealerships closed by the time I was able to get address this issue due to family commitments. The dealerships are also not open on Sunday.

65 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/11/2025

While driving the vehicle shut down unexpectedly. This occurred in the first minutes of driving after a software update the night before. I restarted the vehicle and vehicle and it shut down 4 more times in 1 mile of driving.

66 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/11/2025

My 2024 Jeep rubicon 4xe has experienced three separate incidents of complete power loss following the October 10, 2025 uconnect software update (version fca-my24. U33. 43-prod). In two cases, the failure occurred while crossing active intersections, where the vehicle abruptly lost acceleration, flashed gear indicators, and displayed a “shift to park and press brake + start button” message. The vehicle became unresponsive and required a lengthy restart. These incidents posed serious safety risks to myself, my young driver, and surrounding drivers. I’ve attempted resets and reviewed Jeeps online community, Jeep connect app, but no fix is available. Multiple owners are reporting identical failures online, suggesting a widespread and massive software fault. I urge NHTSA to investigate this issue and compel Jeep to issue a rollback or patch to restore safe operation immediately. I am also requesting NHTSA to legally require these vehicles to be disabled immediately until a robust fix is available to avert life threatening consequences. I cannot believe Jeep has not done this on their own!!!.

67 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/11/2025

Today while driving on my street in electric mode at ~25-30 mph, suddenly an alarm dinged and the “d” on the transmission started flashing and the “check engine” light came on. I lost power to the drivetrain (pressing the accelerator pedal did nothing) and an alert on the screen said to press the brake pedal and start button to start the car. I pulled over, turned it off, then turned it back on again. It started driving but then the same thing happened after ~1 minute. Luckily I was in my neighborhood and not on a highway, so I was able to pull over. It was a bit scary because as the Jeep was almost to a stop (but still moving) suddenly the power steering gave out. Luckily I was near the curb. I repeated the same process, drove for one minute, repeat, one minute, repeat. The check engine light was on the whole time. This behavior has been documented by other Jeep owners on the internet and appears to be a software issue. Having the vehicle randomly shut down while driving is incredibly dangerous.

68 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/11/2025

The car stalled completely (‘bricked’) while driving at approx 30mph. Everything cut off, power, steering, braked and the vehicle came to a stop in the road. I put the car in park and restarted it but the engine light has been on ever since. I took it to Jeep who told me to keep driving it unless it got worse and to call back in two days as they had a garage full of Jeeps with the same problem.

69 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/11/2025

Driving my Jeep on [xxx] and while attempting to turn at a busy intersection in colonia, NJ the Jeep stopped while flashing the check engine light and put in park message. Both kids were in the Jeep which needless to say made the situation even more dangerous. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

70 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/11/2025

While driving down the strip, the system lost all power. It made it very difficult to brake or steer the car. Had to pull over on a busy road and get a tow. Jeep sent a software update that broke the powertrain, and now the car is unusable at the dealership with no fix.
