Engine And Engine Cooling Problems of Kia Motor Amanti

The 2004 kia Amanti will accelerate on it's own. I have been in local traffic and it accelerates and DE-accelerate like a run away horse. It will then drive normal. The check engine light comes on sometimes and goes back out. This last time the light came on, I took to an electrical auto repair place. The computer read out said it needed a throttle body. I replaced it as suggested. The 2004 kia Amanti attempts to accelerate on it's own and stops and drives normal again. The check engine light is on again. I would like to get what is perfect and right for the kia to perform better and be safe. How do I do that?.

After getting home last night from my sister in law's gender reveal, I saw smoke coming from under the bonnet so I opened it quickly and saw a fire blazing behind the engine. . . . When the fire department got there, they pointed out to me that the fire was electrical. . . . . Administration on 6/26/20 a dealership made a tenative sale on a usec 2005 vehicle intentionally decieving potential buyer. Vehicle was unsafe to drive as it made misfire and the fluids in vehicle were all missing from each tank. I explained I drove 60 miles one way and was not told the vehicle was as -is or in such terrible condition. Manager refused to assist me or speak with me as I would complain. Stared driving on the highway when the car was trying to go out got off the highway pull to the side and then it stop running tryed to start it up it wouldn't do nothing battery brand new llights came it that was it once I was towed by the guy said off the top it is eclectically he even tryed to give it a jump and it wouldn't jump and that's where iam.

Tl-the contact owns a 2004 kia amante. The contact stated while driving on the highway the vehicle started to cut off. The contact quickly merged off the exit and the vehicle would not restart. The tow truck driver stated that the issue might be electric. The dealer that sold the vehicle to the contact had gone out of business and the manufacturer had not yet been contacted. The failure mileage was 177, 600. Tf.

Engine loses power as though accelerator cable broke, also on start up car often lurches forward as if in gear. Took car to kia today and they state it is a known problem with their electronic accelerator hose, the housing that connects it to the engine melts and is no longer clipped to the engine often causing power loss because the connection is tenuous. The only fix they said would be to replace the part, but the cheap plastic they use will still melt and break off, causing another replacement needed in the future.

Kia Amanti losing power while driving or losing power then accelerating out of control and kia seems not to be able to fix the problem.

I have had several incidents where my vehicle accelerated almost causing an accident. I have been to the dealer three times and twice they have replaced the speed sensor. The third time they said they could not duplicate the problem.

This is the 2nd time for the same issue (mileage 17900) -previous issue was July 2012. Driving down the interstate-car suddenly looses power down to idle only speed. Fortunately, then & today no tractor trailers ran over top of the car. Could mange to get to the side of the road and out of the way. Kia is obviously not fixing this position sensor/computer problem. Driving the car in limp mode to a garage is extremely dangerous as must get up to 25mph then use the cruise control-in traffic it is off & on. Start & stop. Be forewarned you should force kia to fix this problem before someone gets killed. I await your response. I see someone else has put in a complaint-I wonder how many others have experienced this problem and have not complained. (like my first experience).

Im driving my car and all of a sudden it just slowing down on its own I have my foot on the gas pedal the engine light comes on it was like the car was loosing power and this is not the first time this has happen, it slow down before but no engine light. Iam lucky because I do not drive my car often also I do not drive on expressways or highways because if I had who knows what would happen if my car started slowing down own its own. No accidents yet.

When driving the engine suddenly quits, the car jerks, and the accelerator does not work. I have to coast to the side of the road and restart the car. This is a huge safety issue since there is no warning before this happens. Another issue is the engine revving upon starting. I have to hold the brake firmly because the car will intermittently lurch either forward or back without warning. I have also had the car try to lurch forward at a stoplight. I have to keep the brake firmly depressed since it is an intermittent problem. I cannot believe this model has not been recalled. It is a definite danger to driver, passengers, and others. I have read many complaints online with regard to this problem, but still no recall. I would participate in a class action suit. I talked with the dealer and kia and they are no help.

I was on the highway going out of town and had the cruise control set like I normally do when all of a sudden my car drastically lost speed from 70mph to 45mph on a very busy highway. I had to slowly move over to the far lane in order to make it to a safe place to pull over. I then pulled over shut the car off for about 20 mins and tried to come back home and once again got on the highway when once again I lost power even tho I'm pressing the gas all the way down to the floor and its not even trying to gain power at all. I almost got into 2 accidents on the way home because of the loss of power. I have seen a lot of complaints on this website about the same recurring problems with other kia Amanti owners and this problem needs to be fixed. This is my only vehicle and I'm scared to drive it. Please can someone give me some answers!!!.

Sudden acceleration. I was slowing for a traffic light I expected to turn red. I had my foot on the floor boards, away from the accelerator, letting the care slow by itself. The light did turn red and I had to apply the brakes. I keep my left foot to the left of the brakes on the floor board. As I applied the brakes with my right foot I felt my left foot so I knew I applied the brakes. Car accelerated. Only putting the transmission I neutral and flooring the brake pedal with both feet prevented a wreck. No warning lights came on. In October of 2011 the dealer replaced ignition coil; packs spark plugs and spark plug wires. However on 5/7/12 the problem returned- worse than ever before the car finally stopped tachometer reading was 4700 rpm. Doctors often ask patients to rate pain open a scale of 1-10. This incident would rate an 8. Please issue a recall before more people experience this and could kill people. Or a buyback for what the buyer paid including all loan fees and interest. . I also request a federal directive requiring all cars to have brake overrides and for a free retrofit of all car models with a history of this problem. I have only 68,000 miles on the car and 66,800 when I bought the car.

While, backing out of garage the car accelerated on its own. Kia road tested the car and could not replicate the problem. A diagnostic test performed by j. B. A. Kia of ellicott city, MD found nothing wrong. This is the second time that the car has had a sudden unintended acceleration incident. Car just loses power then has an acceleration of power where it is out of control. This is a 2006 kia Amanti and has the problem since we bought it 2 years ago. Kia has not been able to fix it even though we have had it at the dealer's several time. What happens is you try to accelerate and there is no power, then the car has a power surge which takes the driver unaware. This is a very dangerous situation. It only occurs about once a month and the dealer says they can't duplicate the problem. They have changed the throttle sensor the last time and it didn't fix the problem.

After pulling the car forward out of the garage in the morning and while stopped to wait for the garage door to close (brake applied, in gear), the vehicle attempts to burst-lurch forward (not touching gas pedal). This seems to happen year-round. The dealership cannot re-produce the problem, but also hasn't kept the vehicle overnight for a cold-start. Have had a couple of near-collisions at the end of my driveway.

On numerous occasions since I bought car in 2006 ,the car suddenly slows to 10-15 mph, you get no response from the gas pedal, then suddenly lurches forward at full throttle. Every Amanti owner I have spoken with has this issue! a driver could be easily involved in a fatal incident with this issue. This also occurs upon startup when parked. If there is a car in front of you in a parking lot, you would hit it. One owner said he had the control module "flashed" and it solved his problem. Could we please get some action on this? kia is well aware of the problem. I tell the service advisor about it every time I'm at the dealer. I will file a giant lawsuit if I'm involved in an accident and survive. I'm in on a class action suit if anyone has one going.
