general problems of the 2011 Kia Motor Optima - part 2

I pulled out from a parking lot into traffic and not less then 5 seconds later the car sputtered once and then completely shut off in the middle of traffic. I was able to coast into the bike lane but was in fear that I would be rear-ended and possibly might incur injuries or harm would be caused to others due to the the manner in which I had not control or could prevent an accident occurring. The vehicle was towed to a mechanic and was diagnosed on with engine failure/engine lock code p1326 w/ internal kia code sc147. The vehicle will not move. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms that would indicate engine failure and risk of a possible accident.

Last year a recall on the engine was issued. The insurance company determined the vehicle a total loss since how the car was branded a lost because it appears kia refused to fix the car, while everyone else says they can't recreate the issue for fear of liability. So here are with a car that has an undetermined engine issue that causes other electronics to malfunction. The vehicle has been seen at kia dealerships according to the carfax. It's been seen. By two other service facilities and all have come up with something that may needed to be service while nothing has fixed the car.

On may 28th I was on my way home and out of nowhere my steering wheel locked up and the car died while in motion. A week later we notified kia about it and they had me tow my car so they could find out what was going on with my vehicle. We waited 12 days to find out was wrong with it and they told us the engine was seized and we had just found out that they had a recall for seized engines. After finding that out we tried to get the vehicle fixed through them and they told us that they could not fix it because it doesn’t no longer have an warranty and that they sent out an report about the recall on my car. March 19 2021 my car stops again while driving get it towed to the repair in my city they say I have a bad engine that was all the help they could give me. Now may 3 2021 my car is currently down it's not in the auto shop at the moment because the only thing the auto repair shops was saying is this would cost me $4500. In January I was informed I had a recall on my engine.

I had purchased this car on Thursday January 14, 2021the car started jerking and turn it off and one turned back on I took it back to the dealership and they told told me it's not their problem in a very rude way. So I asked them can I have the owners number and they told me that they can't give it to me and if I keep asking they're going to call the police on me. So I took the car to kia to see what they can do for the car about the recall and they told me they if the part is covered but I looked online and it is on recall.

Car started to knock shut off called tow truck. Checked code said knock sensor replaced still knocks changed oil again after two months and found pieces of medal in oil that looks like bass and metal I was driving the car on road rt. 322 in no.

My car just died while I was driving. I had a aaa technician come out for a tow. He inspected my engine and found out there was a low amount of oil and metal shavings. After being towed to a auto shop they determined my engine frozed and informed me I need to purchase a new engine. They also found metal shavings.

The theta 2. 4gdi engine was replaced in my 2011 kia Optima may 2019, after a total engine seizure that left me stranded at an intersection in albuquerque nm. It has started to experience the same pattern of malfunctioning in the last 10 months, sporadically, first while driving and another time while attempting to start my vehicle. However, pronounced malfunctioning. I am dumbfounded that kia states they cannot duplicate the problem as I have provided videos of the noises for their review!! they themselves write in articles that they prefer to repair before total engine seizure. However, I took my vehicle back to pitre kia, where the engine was originally replaced and now they say the engine warranty was 12 months, even though their literature states differently. When you attempt to follow that advise, they completely switch to total rudeness and go as far as laughing at you for your concern over the vehicle that you paid for and which ultimately pays their salary!! I just want to have faith in my vehicle that it will not leave me stranded. I am restricted, at this time, from going out of town. I do not trust my vehicle to take me anywhere, much less make the necessary trips to santa fe (56 miles away) due to the fear of getting stranded in the middle of nowhere, I am a 64 years old disabled female and thought I had purchased a reliable vehicle only to find out that is the farthest from the truth. Now their customer service representatives and supervisors are in total denial of their faulty equipment and then proceed to be rude! they can lie all they want, but they do know of the lawsuits over their faulty engines!! they are just being told by the greedy corporate heads not to comply with repairs.

Engine knocking won't go over 20 mph, there is a recall on engines on the 2011 kia Optima and this car only has 75k miles and is regularly serviced.

The motor seized up while driving. No lights came on. Checked oil that had metal shavings in the oil. We have been doing regular oil changes on the vechile. It will no longer run.

The fuel injector required replacement. The car sputtered and came to a complete stop without warning. The dealership performed a full diagnostic and reported that the fuel injector required replacement. While repairing the injector, the mechanic reported that the catalytic converter was damaged due to the injector leaking and clogging the converter. No codes alerted myself, or the mechanic to these issues. The mechanic reported that neither issue was covered under the engine recall.

My car have lot of problems in side.

Was driving down and suddenly the car starts to slow down and eventually cuts off. Found out the engine locked even though I get the recommended maintenance.

Driving in heavier than normal traffic about 45 mph. Stopped at a traffic light and engine cut off. Was able to restart, but was only able to drive less than half a mile before the engine cut off again. I completely lost power, but was able to coast into a parking lot. I waited approximately 10 minutes, attempted to restart the car (successfully!) and drove around the parking lot before traveling the remaining 20 minutes home. Engine died while driving on public street and would not restart and within minutes fire in engine compartment. Destroyed front of car and damaged interior.

Metal shavings in oil and engine is knocking.

The vehicle was moving and started to shake and check engine started flicker and heard rattling. The car then started to slow down and jerking. I've read about several recalls invovling 2011-2015 kia's having engine recalls but my VIN has not had a recall for my car, which I am very upset because my impression of kia is reliable up to this point. I have kept up with all my maintenance such as regular oil changes and performing diagnostic test to ensure my vehicle is running smoothly and safely. I hope you guys can resolve this issue and make a recall for my engine faulty, which is estimated at 6k to fix.

As I was entering an intersection and beginning a left turn my car with no warning began to buck and surge with no motor power and an oncoming car at my passager side door. We were fortunate that the oncoming driver was very alert to my car no being able to move and missed my car. We were able to limp the car under very reduced power and still, no warning lights came on. As we pulled into the closest parking lot and stop I put the car in to park and it completely died. The car was towed to the kia dealership twice due to kia giving bad information.

I am driving through an intersection and just as I get through, while still in motion, all the lights on the dashboard flashed or turned on. I lost complete control of the gas pedal, lost power steering, and I was forced to pull off into a parking lot where I couldn't get to a parking spot and was left stuck at the entrance of the establishment. I put my car in neutral and pushed it away from the entrance after trying to turn it off and start it back up several times. I was forced to call a tow truck to get towed to my repair shop and the diagnosis was that the engine blew a bearing and will need an engine replacement.

I was driving on the street at 40mph when I saw light smoke coming from under the hood I pulled over to get my two kids and myself out of the car shortly after we got out of the car flames started coming from under the hood I then called 911 for the fire department to come put the flames out when they finally did the whole car was burnt to a crisp.
