2 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2019

I was on the interstate traveling at approx 70 mph changed lanes and when I went to accelerate the vehicle stalled lost power I coasted to the breakdown lane and attempted to start the vehicle. It would not start. I had aaa tow it to a hardings garage in fairfield. The technician said this morning the vehicle started but stalled as soon as he tried to move it. He told me that there was a kia recall 17v224000 that applied to the engine so I got aaa to tow the vehicle to charlies kia in augusta, me. They tell me that there is no recall on my VIN. Why would I have the same stalling as indicated in the recall if my VIN does not apply???.

Failure Date: 09/08/2019

The car started to stall and wouldn't go it began smoking and caught fire luckily I was driving right past purrfect auto and turned around and pulled inside the service area before the car was able to catch full fire. I thought maybe the car got hot and that's what I told purrefct auto because I was not sure so I thought that the car was running hot and that maybe it just got a little bit too hot and decided to catch on fire but the car was stalling before the fire and didn't want to go I took it to kia to have it repaired and they told me that I would have to pay out of pocket they said that the car needed a new engine after perfect auto basically took the whole engine out of the car to try to see why the car wasn't working right and they still couldn't figure it out I paid them $3,000 almost $4,000 and the car still wasn't working correctly so I when I took it to kia they denied me because they said my car was not in warranty and that I needed to buy a new engine.

11 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 08/06/2017

Kia has now settled their class action suit for all the other vehicles, yet the hybrids are still being left out of any recalls. There is plenty of evidence in the complaints here that something is wrong. I sunk $7000 that I didn't have to spare into getting a new engine put in this car. Only to have the transmission blow right after I got the car back from kia after waiting 6 months for an engine. The transmission cost another $5000, and it took them three transmissions to install a non-faulty transmission. I almost lost my job because I couldn't reliably get to work on time, if at all. Kia themselves have said that the engines weren't manufactured correctly and that labor being done in kia dealerships wasn't being done correctly. Hybrid engines should absolutely not be blowing rods at 60000 miles, or 80000 miles, and not even 100000 miles. Kia is knowingly delaying any sort of recall and forcing people to go into further debt or lose jobs.

Vehicle recalled under sc147 on July 13,2017. New engine received by dealer week of September 25. Last update I received on October 20th from kia corporation was new motor installed however could not get the vehicle to run. Some compression testing indicates that the new motor installed was bad. 18 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2016

October 2016, was driving down the interstate when the car engine stopped running. There was no warning, no flashing engine light, no warning whatsoever. I had it towed to my local shop. They found wires to the starter burned and assumed that was the issue. They installed a new starter and found that the engine was seized. My issue is the timing of the kia recall. Hyundai had recalled the same engine in 2015. I was out of warranty, so the engine replacement was at least $4,000 for a used engine that would have likely had the same issue. I had to sell the car for salvage. Kia should reimburse owners for the value of their car at the time the engine seized. They knew there was an issue with the engine, but waited until many of us were out of warranty before they had the recall. That is fraud at some level and should be treated as such.

20 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 02/11/2016

While driving 45 mph down the highway, car stalled, towed to dealership where they claimed there was sludge in engine and would not replace, called kia who stated that we would have to get all service records from day 1 or they would not cover. I brought this car brand new and while I have most service records from 2013 on, I do not have any from before that because our house burnt down in April 2014, now its been 5 months since my car broke down and my 2 choices are, save up 5k while still paying for the car or pay for a very expensive paper weight that doesn't even fit in my house. Kia is going to kill someone if they don't take action!.
