Kia kirby ventura has removed (2) or more active dangerous recalls from VIN# of the vehicle that is unfortunately in my nane. Recall 1, steering wheel mdps unit. I have a letter notification dated April 24 2017 no recall#. Plus recall 18v363000 air bag control unit that should apply but never received recall notice. Recall#17v224 engine stall/freeze issue I have recall notifice plus a notice from the united states district court for the central district of California abt specific recall that does effect car. I made 2 attempts at kia kirby ventura last year, before covid19, to get engine recall fixed car was experiencing symptoms as described almost casued serious accidents on freeway. I was denied by service manager david bodjanac since dealership, during 2nd visit to have engine recall fixed, kia kirby ventura removed recall from VIN# asked me where did I get recall notice from? engine issue not fixed. Fast forward to today, thurs 10/15/20 early evening im coming up to corner engine stalled twice as I was slowing down approching, turning. Luckily I was driving at slower rate of speed. Coming out of turn car ultimatly made into my parking lot w/out crashing luckily no one was out walking. Engine car froze. Luckily in front of parking space, managed to force car in parking spot. Now disputing w/kia kirby ventura, sm david bodjanac, who denied engine recall or any recall. Kia kirby ventura service w/undoubtedly tell me issue w/car has nothing to do w/any recalls. Had I been on fwy which I drive on 2, 3 times a day or been driving at higher rate of speed on street as I was I would have been killed. Kirby kia ventura said they w/give 0 for car not running due to recall but still in good condition fully loaded. If car running they mite give me $5500-$6000max. . Per kb not running cars value $6923- $8852 in fair condition /mechanical issues & $7851-$9790 in good condition.

My airbag light was flashing now it stays on permanently. Got an inspection and failed because of the airbag light. They can not get the specifics of why the light is on.

I was driving down the road doing about 45 when I heard a small pop & all my dash lights came on & I lost everything. Car clicks when trying to restart but does not start. Oil light, battery light, eps light & check engine light stay on now. I was told there is a recall on these cars and would like to get it fixed ASAP as it's my only transportation.

It began when we would try to start the car it seemed to have battery issues and have trouble starting, and finally the battery did drain but isn't holding charge but took it in to get checked and battery is fine. The headlights will randomly shut off while driving at night like if the sensor were in the day time. Now the engine light has came on while driving it and when you hit the gas it jerks the car after 20 mph. This happens on and off where it will be fine then suddenly start doing it all over again everything also happens in different occasions.

While in motion the headlights turn on by themselves at random times during the day. Abs warning light, bsd warning light, and traction control warning light all came on at the same time. On the way to the dealership they all went off. The technician said he sees that the warning light were on, but their computer is not detecting a problem. If it happens again bring it back. Well, they're on again. The car has been stationary since Friday afternoon, Sunday evening my son sends me a pic of my car, the lights are on!.

When I go to accelerate from a stopped position; the car stalls and turns off and then it turns itself back on. Additionally, when I drive over 50 mph the car/tires start to vibrate.

I was driving on 8/28/2020 and a warning light came across the dashboard that read my forward collision camera was not working and it stayed lit for about 3 minutes while driving and eventually went off before I parked the car. I am afraid to drive the car if the braes may fail. The vehicle was in motion initially approaching a stop light when the message came across the dashboard. I was on a city street driving.

My car quits while driving. Warning lights flash often on dashboard even after.

I was riding down the road car just stopped after stopped try to crank again wouldn't crank when it did crank it had no power sputtered.

My car is getting a p2562 code which is for the turbocharger boost control position sensor. I'm having a significant decrease in engine power and fuel economy.

So from the start I bought the car $5000 cash from a dealership who promised a 3 month warranty 3 weeks into having the car I decided to take a road trip for my graduation party from high school I'm about 2 hours out from my city going down the highway car just stops accelerating and flashing a engine light while I'm on a one way highway tractor trailers and cars are going 80mph behind meanwhile my car can't accelerate luckily I was able to pull over without losing my life so I call the dealership and he hangs up and says there's nothing he can do there's no warranty at all and I'm just in shock I'm stranded on the highway with no one near me that I know so I end up paying the tow truck $600 to go back to my city take the car to mechanic he says it's the knock sensor he � fixed� it on the way home from picking it up from the mechanic I was driving on the highway again the car does the same exact thing but this time it was worse because cars was right behind me almost hit me and swerved and almost took there own life and my car just won't accelerate anymore and sounds horrible knocking sound while cars are coming straight behind me I pulled over eventually got it towed back to the mechanic after paying him he says he's still trying to fix it I honestly just want to be safe in my car that was supposed to get me to college now im out of a car and college funds due to fixing the car and can't even go due to lack of safety on vehicle it was very traumatizing and impacting on my life .

Was driving on a city road and a car stopped in front of us (while only going 25mph) then the caution front sensor lights came on. The car had a notification that popped up said front camera is blocked. Stayed on for 5 minutes then just shut off.

I drove my car to work got out of the car and look. I say I am park bad so I got back in my car to park better. I put the key in and try to turn the key but I couldn't turn key my wheel was lock when I try to push my brake down it wouldn't go down. Supposed I was on the road when that happen.

I was driving on the highway going 65 mph and an alert pops up. It said "possible bms condition. " I immediately pulled to the side, but also noticed my car speed reducing. I safely got into the right shoulder and then the car steering wheel froze up. Another alert to check brakes went on. I pushed the brakes over and over to get the alert off. It then over a time span of 3-5 min started to slowly run low on electricity because the hazards lights were blinking slower. I got it towed and waiting to see what is the problem. Been looking it up and most likely it's the fuse in the back trunk under the cover underneath.

I purchased my car in bellevue ne I tried taking it back within the first week. They told me everything was fine and sent me to edwards kia in council bluffs IA. My brakes and rotors were horrible and needed to be replaced they in ne said they were completely fine. It cost $600 to repair. The bellevue manager asked me what I expected him to do about it. They let me leave the lot without inspection my car. Then I had a motor recall my engine light was flashing and it wouldn't accelerate this has now happened 3 times in the last 30 days. Edwards kia in council bluffs currently have had my car for 2 weeks and tell me that it could be an additional 6 weeks before I get it retired to me.

While driving, below speed limit, the back tire slid on some slush. When I tapped the break the electronic slip control kicked on, locking the steering wheel, causing the throttle to cut off without slowing down or changing gears, and the breaks instantly started jumping, I at this point had absolutely no control over the vehicle. The car went off the road, hitting a cement post, my head bounced off of the steering wheel, continued to crash forward coming to a rest on top of a rock wall, that is when the airbag deployed causing a severe neck sprain. At this time the rear wheel was not even on the ground as I had been launched to a teetering position, the engine had been cracked, fluids leaking everywhere when I noticed a strange colored smoke and the engine still running. A witness quickly advised me to cut the engine off and get out of the vehicle as quickly as possible. I was only driving approximately 32 mph in a 35 zone on a left handed curve, the car was launched off the road to the right.

I was driving on the road at 40mph when the engine just stopped. There was no noise and the vehicle lost control. I was able to avoid any serious body damage. All the electrical accessories would turn on but the engine stayed dead when I turned the car on. After leaving it over night parked on a residential street the next day same situation all electrical devices turned on but the engine wouldnt turn on. I had to get it towed to the dealer I bought it from in order for them to take a look at what could of gone wrong.

While driving the vehicle dash lights for the steering wheel and traction control come on and the steering gets hard as if no power steering. I pull over turn car off, check power steering fluid and belt, no issues. Turn car back on no aforementioned dash lights turned off and steering is fine. This has happened a few times within the last two months.

Most recently while driving my car with vehicle in motion on city street (a straight road) it all of a sudden drops power and I am unable to get the car to accelerate without push down very hard on the pedal until it finally decides to speed up, once this occurs the traction control light appears on the dash and does not disappear and will not disappear until the car is shut off and restarted and the loss of power continues to happen until the car is powered off. After realizing this issue I turned off the car and let it sit a few minutes and when I powered back on and drove again the same issue occurred and the traction light reappeared on my dash. I am concerned this could be a faulty programming issue that is telling the car the traction is needed when it is in fact not. This is a safety hazard as there is no way to predict when this power loss will happen and does so in the middle of driving which slows the car way down and could cause an accident and also having to continuously keep the accelerator down until it decides to regain power is dangerous because it will suddenly ramp up the rpm and take off. This is a major concern and could be happening to other consumers.

Tl the contact owns a 2015 kia Optima. The contact stated while his wife was parking the vehicle, the ignition was turned to the off position and made an abnormal sound. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 55 mph, the vehicle hesitated without warning. The driver continued to drive to the destination. Several days later the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact retrieved several unknown dtc codes using a dtc scanner tool. The contact reached out to an independent mechanic and was informed that the codes were incorrect. A dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 119,402.

While driving the car the fuel consumption in the motor would bog the engine down to where it would barely go over 40 mph on the highway. At this time the engine trouble indicator light would come on and not go off. I immediately took it to the local kia dealership in mt. Hope, wv. . The mechanic changed out the sensor that showed up on his meter and the engine seemed to do good while in the shop but when they backed it out of the shop bay, another sensor lighr came on. We had already paid the dealership $206, they would not return our money.

Hello I am nychole and in October of 2017 I purchased a brand new 2018 kia Optima . Never really had any issues with it until fri Nov 22. As I was leaving from work my car did a very abrupt jerk that I acknowledged but didn't think anything of it because my gas light had just came on. But today which is Sunday my car's eps (electric power steering) light flashed. Weirded out I look at the manual in the glove compartment. As I eased into my apartment complex the car did that same jerk, the steering wheel went hard to manage/steer and 6 other lights started blinking( parking break light,epb light ,abs light,esc light ,battery charge light, and the master malfunction light) . I could no longer manipulate my wheel so I pull forward onto a open spot and put it in park. The moment I did this the car cut off. It will not turn over, it will not do anything besides tick. I have been great with maintenance because it was either free or dirt cheap so I always took it to the dealership. I have read more reviews of people going through similar things. Just imagine if I had my child in the car, on the interstate and could no longer control my steering wheel or the car just dying mid drive on the interstate how dangerous this issue is. My car is basically 3 years old and has less that 50 k. It has never been wrecked , towed or damaged still practically new. I have also read similar recalls about electronic issues that are only relevant to the hybrids . The recall seems similar.

Vehicle's abs brake activate randomly illuminating the abs brake signal on dashboard,while in motion and without touching the brakes. This causes the vehicle to decelerate and has made the vehicle come to a near complete stop. Even if the gas pedal is pressed to accelerate the vehicle will not increase speed, only decrease. The issue happens 8/10 times while making turns and approx 5/10 while driving straight on freeway . This happened on 11/08/2019 in the evening, I immediately took my vehicle back to kia and they claimed to have driven my car for 20 miles and didn't see or experience any issues. My car is a 2012 and only has 58, 388 miles. I demanded they keep looking but they caught an attitude like I made the scenario up and any stated that I should drive the car with their mechanic as they "cannot replicate my driving", like I'm driving in the damn indy 500. Since it is now Sunday, and the dealer is closed it will be sitting in their service center Monday morning!.

"half" of the engine was replaced in July 2019. Now burns oil like crazy. On October 29th 2019 while driving at about 40 mph the entire electrical system shut off leaving me with no power steering. I was able to get off the road safely and call for a tow. I am second owner so warranty is out by about 2,600 miles. Dealer had I for a week at one point they said it was fixed when they were pulling it around front for me it stopped.

I was driving on the highway when my jerked twice, check engine light started blinking, and I could not accelerate. I was able to get off the highway safely, my car was towed to a kia dealership nearby and I was told it could take 3-4 days before my car is looked at. This problem has happened twice while I was on the highway. It happened on October 3rd, my car was towed to a kia dealership and I was told the knocking sensor went out. The issue was supposedly fixed and I picked my car up on October 8th.

My steering wheel started making clicking sound after researching I found it was a common problem in 2014 kia Optima caused by plastic steering coupler confident that kia would cover it because of the service bulletin put out for my yea re and back to my surprise I had to pay out of pocket $340. God know why a manufacture would put plastic in major component of the steering column. I contacted their consumer affairs department and was told my VIN was not covered and despite it being issued for my year and make no other assistance would be provided unless a future recall was issued. This is huge safety issue which I caught prior to a fatality.

Idk who is going to read this but hopefully someone can tell me a little something about my kia op. Hybrid! about 2 months ago, a truck hit my car and my abs light came on. My car was taken to hubcity hagerstown MD they fixed the body repairs, then they took it to kia hagerstown MD to get the abs system fixed (which my warranty company had to pay for it). About a week ago I took it to kia letting one of the service managers know it's having some push back when I'm driving that it wasn't having before he accident such as on the highway it will feel like it doesn't want to go. I'll be going a certain speed for a while, it'll give push back rev all the way up to 5rpm acts like it doesn't want to keep going then it goes back down to a lower number and acts fine. Then a few times now I'll be at a stop light or stop sign I'll press on the gas it didn't go I'll let go of the gas it revs up, jerks and goes by itself!!!!!! almost making me hit the vehicles in front of me. He drove my car felt how it was driving and said certain things could have been from the car accident and to bring it back ASAP. I was driving on the highway on the 14th of this month I was driving about 65 70 it was actin a little jerky and wasn't going anymore then the dashboard light came on again and said hybrid system warning do not drive and the car literally wouldn't let's me go anymore. I got stuck middle of the highway and fredrick MD highway patrol had to assist me. Out of all the troubles I had almost hitting a few cars in front of me (which wouldn't of been my fault each time it's happened) and my car just turning off in the middle of the highway has been the worst since I've had it. Mind you this is all within a 2-3 month time frame and my car wasn't like this before. June 14th was the day my car got hit since then has been hell with this car.

Brake light switch malfunctioning. Brake light on all the time rendering cruise control and electronic stability control inoperable. Loss of power in engine as it thinks brakes are applied making it dangerous to drive. Root cause is brake pedal stopper (kia part 32876-36000) developing a puncture hole over time making the brake switch believe brakes are applied. Known issue on other kia models. Believe the sorento already have a recall for something very similar.

While I went on the highway the acceleration felt very sluggish and had a hard time speeding up to the speed limit. The car only got worse as I went on a street and it felt as though it did not want to go, like it lost most of its power. Turns out something is wrong with the engine but I feel that my car should be under a newer recall but isn�t, as smoke was coming out of the exhaust and the engine light wasn't even on. Somehow the car was out of oil with no light coming on to indicate that and recently about a week ago oil was put in, and weeks prior oil was put in.

I was driving to work at night time for about a week straight my head lights would randomly turn on and off by their selves while I'm driving and then my car would be sitting in my parking space and my neighbors told me my lights would just be on all night and my car would be locked and everything and one day I went out to start my car and I couldn't even unlock it to get in it so I thought it might've been my car remote battery died and so I asked a neighbor that works on cars to see what it could be they popped my hood and checked my car battery and it was completely dead, they tried to give me a jump which was just enough to allow me to unlock and get into my vehicle but my car battery was completely fried due to headlight sensor.

Bought the car January of 2018. 28 days of having the vehicle and I got a flat tire and come to find out my strut was never properly installed and thats what popped my tire. Dan obrien tried to deny having a warranty to fix the car saying it was my fault. It was covered under warranty. I had to buy the new tire. When the recall for the engine came out,I took my car right in. They passed it. In September while driving home from my daughters 2 month appointment the car just lost all power and my engine light came on & car would not start daughter was present. Engine had locked up they replaced the long block under the sc147 recall 11/30/18 recall sc165, ecu upgrade. On 2/11/19 I had the inspection for recall sc172 car passed. 3/21/19 no warning engine light came on & stayed. P1326 engine code car went into limp home mode,daughter was present. Engine light flashed,got towed. 3/26/19 kia told me it was due to the previous recall,it was my knock sensor. They replaced under warranty. 5/22/19 front right side wheel bearing went bad,kia wouldnt cover,same side strut issue occured on. 6/6/19 I went to accelerate on bypass and lost all engine control,I was able to coast. No warning lights came on. Put in park, oil light,battery & eps came on & off. Turned car off & on. Car would drive but with hesitation and little power. 6/8/19 I went to accelerate on bypass and car lost power. 6+ cars behind me ,my car blocked the road. Restarted car,went to take off and the car began to vibrate jolt and I couldnt get out of the way,I had to go into the other lane because I was blocked. Steering wheel locked up, brakes lost power & I almost hit the guard rail. Daughter was present. 6/10/19 kia told me it was my throttle body sensor not covered. Bought car with over 79k,now around 101k. Im scared for my daughters life & mine it will catch on fire at anytime with all the symptoms.

Takara recall vehicle power down while I was driving 45 mph on a city street the car was stationary in motion then powered back up without me turning the ignition. Was a very scary experience.

On the evening of may 17, I needed a jump after work. I went home, turned off my car but was unable to start it again so I replaced the battery. I thought I had fixed the problem until the next day when I was driving 65mph on a local interstate with my daughter in the car, all my dash lights came on, I lost navigation & radio and my power steering locked up. I went to turn on my hazards and those did not work either. I checked my mirrors to make sure no one was going to hit me and I was able to get off the highway and pull onto the shoulder. I was extremely fearful as I had minimal steering capability & was unable to notify other motorists of my disabled vehicle as my hazard lights were not functioning. I was able to get it towed to a dealership where I was told I needed a new alternator for my 3 year old car. While my mileage was at 66,500 miles, I definitely had not anticipated need to replace that part of a while. Despite that, I was more upset that I lost function of my car and was not able to warn other cars with working hazard lights.

Intermittently car will shudder (jerk forward and slow, jerk forward and slow) many times when accelerating, either from a stop or while accelerating from low speeds (less than 45mph) it seems possible gear changing is not smooth. And can be dangerous when attempting to merge into traffic as car does not accelerate as it should. Have taken the car to kia who report that nothing was wrong with car when they test drove it. Problem seems worse when it is hot or cold outside.
