My driver's seat seatbelt has completely locked up rendering unusable. It neither retracts or goes out further so it is stuck in a state where it cannot buckle with a person in it. My car is only 7 years old and I have only had it for4 years.

The issue concerns the rear center seatbelt used to secure infants and small children. The seat's "racketing" restraint did not disengage when the belt was unbuckled. My child became trapped and I had to cut the seat belt with scissors to get him out.

Drivers side seat belt will not click into latch.
Engine is burning 2 qt of oil every month and burning it in under 1000 miles. Kia dealership says it's a common issue but can't help me until the engine seizes up. The car has less than 85k miles on it. How can this be a common issue but they can't fix it till the engine dies? what if the engine dies out of warranty? then I'm out 12k for a new engine that will die in 80k miles. This should be a recall.
The contact owns a 2020 kia Optima. The contact received notification of new vehicle limited warranty extension (illumination of air bag warning light); however, the part to do the repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the air bag warning light illuminated. The seat belt alarm chimed while the front driver seat belt was buckled. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 42,860.

This car was purchased March 12, 2021 and has been in my possession for 3 years and 4 months. It has sat in a dealership repair facility for 13 of those months to replace the engine and high-voltage hybrid battery. Meaning I have actively driven this vehicle for approximately 27 months and the retraction system for the seatbelts is malfunctioning and as its a safety issue I feel the need to report this and see what other alternatives are available instead of paying out $1121. 58 for something that malfunctioned under the first 10 years of the vehicles life sounds more like a design flaw than a user issue or uneasy wear as I am a 6’2” average build individual. As the vehicle went into the dealership for routine scheduled maintenance I noticed the driver and passenger seat belts don’t lock or retract properly. Service tech stated the retraction system is malfunctioning and they will both need to be replaced. With this system not working the driver and passenger are not able to be restrained properly in case of an accident. No lights or warnings appeared just noticed while driving in rush hour traffic in buffalo, new york. *with this being a “more rare” plug in hybrid variant instead of a conventional ice many issues don’t carry over so I would really like this to be investigated for the safety of the owners of this car. *.
The contact owns a 2013 kia Optima. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle and fastening his seat belt, the seat belt warning light remained illuminated. After unfastening the seat belt, the seat belt warning light turned off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the seat belt buckle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 187,000.

My vehicle speed up and slow down all that itself. It will not maintain speed even with my foot steady on the gas. It will not accelerate, but the major problem is my seatbelt gets stuck all the time I’m afraid to get buckled. I am unable to remove my seatbelt multiple times so now I have buckled my seatbelt behind me so I can start getting tickets. I’ve gotten like four tickets because I’m scared to be buckled that it’s not gonna come on down when I need it to be I’ve got 40 bought tickets. I was going about 20 mph when I went to the brakes for my vehicle accelerated by itself crashing into a pillar at the mall. I did call the police.

The passager side seat belt goes off by itself.
Unknown but the passenger side seat belt start chumming on its on and won't stop until I connect the seat belt.
My son owned a kia Optima built in June of 2013. He was in a motor vehicle accident where he was put in a pit maneuver and then was t boned on the passengers side causing his body to lay across the front seats and died at the scene. His black box download showed that the seat belt pretensioner was off and both airbags in the front did not go off. I know there is a recall for Optimas built before Aug 31 of 2012. I believe there was an issue with this vehicle as well. I would hate for there to be anymore deaths or injuries with the later models of these vehicles. I do hope this is looked into further.
I just think theres some sort of a tech issue with my electronic dashboard. My passenger seatbelt sign goes on and beeps incessantly when there is no passenger in the seat. My caution alert button comes on saying I have low tire pressure when it’s only one number less than all the other tires. My oil change reminder never comes on. Today I was driving normally and the car in front of me barely tapped their breaks (and I was not close to them at all) and the collision alert started beeping. My car randomly gets cold and the ac smells like it’s on, but it’s not (the button isn't lit nor did I turn it on) it normally doesn’t allow me to turn the outside air button on/off. Like in the winter when it’s freezing outside and I wasn’t to press the button to only circulate the inside air in the car, it doesn’t allow me and I have to freeze and be uncomfortable in my own car.

While driving, car in motion, front passenger seat belt audio warning periodically goes off without reason. Indicating seat is occupied & seat belt needs putting on. When seat has been unoccupied / clear from any type of weight on seat to trigger sensor. Audio warning will continue until seat belt is latched over the empty seat. Local kia service dept was informed & could neither confirm or deny its faulty behavior for it did not present itself during time of service. They said, wiring looked fine but did no further testing. To be honest they showed no interest into seeing any real importance for my concern for them to feel any further investigation was warranted. Its happened again twice since that service visit be it last incident Aug 7th. My concern is. . . . If there is faulty wiring or sensor signals being crossed somewhere, whats to say there is a passenger or no passenger in that seat, to ensure the correct signal is getting to the passenger side air bags of when to correctly deploy if an accident should happen with passenger in seat? this situ is only recent starting about a year a go. So something has changed from being fine for 2 yrs up to the last year that's now showing some kind of seat belt / sensor failure. I'm unfamiliar with how that wiring system works & linked within it for me know what other things I might need to pay more attn to, looking for other signs that could be saying is direct cause to the prob. Unsure if this a simple solution or is something that others are experiencing with this year & model car & poss be a manufacturer part default.
Brakes don't feel right some times when I stop. My passage side seat belt dangs for no reason even when there nothing on my set. And ever once in a blue moon I can hear a dang dang noise idk where it's coming from but it's very soft sound.
The contact's ex husband owned a 2013 kia Optima . The contact stated while her ex-husband was driving at an undetermined speed a 2009 Jeep liberty cross the center line and crashed into the vehicle. The driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene. There was a report of the driver being located leaning towards the front passenger seat. The air bags deployed. The seat belt was extended and locked but, was torn. The contact stated the driver of the Jeep was intoxicated however there were no reported injuries. The vehicle was towed to a police lot. A police report was filed. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was unknown.
My air bag light has been on and I've check everything and my seat belt don't lock when its on and the light to the seat belt goes off contented, I've tried to go to the dealer to have them fix my airbags and senses I don't have recall on it they won't fix it ,the air bag is very important and so is the seat belt.

Tl the contact owns a 2012 kia Optima. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, an occupant was wearing the driver's side rear seat belt however, the buckle ceased and failed to retract or release. The occupant had to slide out the seat belt. The contact called grand kia (1950 w 104th Ave, denver, CO 80234, (720) 943-1144) to notify the dealer of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnose nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 230,000.
I was in a car accident as I was driving on i65 and my air bags did not deploy and my seat belt didn't lock up.
I recently had my car repaired for the turbo fuel line which was a recall and snapped in my. This was repaired however ever since that now my turbo is not working and I have very little pickup when I accelerate. Also my seatbelt light keeps coming on stating that my seatbelt is not connected when it is. And this problem will recover for a short period of time and happen again in a few days.

Bought on 9-12-2019 with approximately 15,400+ miles. It now has 15,750+ miles. It has stalled/powered off on me twice. First time was oct 7, 2019, parked on the curb when I was picking up my daughter from school, when she got in the car and I was about to drive off from the curbside and when I lifted my foot off the brake and stepped on the gas, the car wouldn't move. I realized the power off so I switched the ignition to off and turned it on again to start the engine again. I thought it was just a little glitch. It happened again on oct 26, 2019 when I was on the drive thru of taco bell. I was waiting in line and again, when I lifted my foot off the brake to move forward, it wouldn't move because the power had just shut off again. I had to restart the engine. I complained to my son about the car but didn't do anything about it because it was past the 7 day exchange or return. But planned to bring it up on my scheduled maintenance unless it happens again. I was always cautious and worried that I will stall in the middle of traffic or worse, while driving. Mostly the reason why I've only driven the car less than 300 miles since I bought it about 4. 5 months ago. Then yesterday morning, Jan 28, 2020, on my errands to two doctor appointments, the passenger seatbelt sign was beeping and flashing the whole time I drove around that day, when there was nobody with me in the car. It finally stopped when in the afternoon when I was close to home and after I picked my prescriptions from the pharmacy close to my house. Now I am curious and wondering why the navy man traded this car in when he'd only had it for la year and spent money on new black rims and blacked out tinted windows. I would like to have an inquiry on what problems the previous owner had with the car because of the short time he owned it and drove it. I'm more terrified to drive after reading other's issues.
Seat beat sounds off while driving and seat belt is fasten. It dings as if the seat belt is not on. Secondly, radio plays but no lights no camera works from time to.
My daughter rear ended another car. Her air bags did no deploy and her seat belt didn't lock. Fortunately no one was hurt.
I brought my car to the dealer on 10/05/2018 for change oil, front brakes and recall campaign. But it looks it wasn't done because the airbags panel light is on and the brakes never feel thighs like when you have a job done. I let the dealer know about it but they want to charge me just to check and fix. When before it wasn't like that.
There is a problem with the passenger's seat belt. Often times the alarm goes off when no one is seating in the seat especially while driving. Also, when someone is sitting in the sit it overly locks no matter the speed of the car, thus causing the passenger to have to undo and redo the seat belt while driving. The seat belt has its own mind.
In 2017 we had the kia towed to selma Kia Motors because of the recall of the engine, because of shaving in the engine and our turbo went out and was burning. The car stop on us in traffic on a city street we could of died that day. They had to order the engine which took two months. They finely put the new engine in. April 2019 the same thing happen again, they told us there was shavings in the engine once again and the turbo was out also, that was another defected engine. They also told us we had another 10 year warranty on this engine because it was new. Well they called us and said that the corporate office in irvine told kia in selma not to fox this car. What irvine corporateofficetried to do to us was black mail us,they said if the give us $12 hundred dallas that we cant go to the attorney general, the manufacturing plant,tv or any other consumer department. We refuse, this type of thing going on. People lives or being taking because of this defected car. We paid $30. 000 dallas for that car, that's clearly a defect car. We contacted the attorney general, office once again and 20/20. It seem know matter what there is no help out here for the hard working consumer I'm a veteran also, this is how the country treat us we fought for this country. I need your input on this situation as ASAP. Sincerely, (xxxxx) redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
As I began crossing the intersection (highway) I ended up getting t- boned halfway through the intersection by a pickup. He was speeding going roughly 60mph in a 45mph zone my kia Optima sustained passenger side/ and frontal impact damage. The impact of the accident sent me skidding across the highway and none of my frontal airbags activated nor did the seatbelt lock up. This lead me to sustain heavy chest injuries from the impact of the steering wheel. Also the car could not be shut off after the accident. The vehicle stayed running until emt disconnected the power to it.
I was t-boned in the passenger side. The car was spun a couple times before coming to a stop. The passenger in the car who was previously wearing the seatbelt immediately noticed that the seatbelt was no longer buckled. We believe the seatbelt came undone almost immediately because everyone else in the vehicle had bruising and burns from their seatbelts but the passenger did not.
Seat belt will not snap correctly it keeps unsnapping until you push down on release button and then it stays snapped.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 kia Optima. While driving various speeds, the seat belt warning indicator illuminated. Crain kia (5830 warden road, sherwood, arkansas 72120, (501) 542-6042) was made aware of the failure and disabled the air bag light; however, the failure recurred. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 18v363000 (air bags) on July 27, 2018. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 113,000.
Takata recall - we called dealer ball kia in national city, CA & were told that we would receive a letter. For us to call back then & that we had to continue to operate an un-safe vehicle until the letter arrived and a appointment could be made. This car could kill us upon impact!!! please, there has to be a better & safer solution.
