1 Suspension Noise problem of the 2012 Kia Motor Optima

Failure Date: 09/01/2017

I have just recently started having a problem when I hit bumps in the road or a rough road. The steering wheel makes a noise and I can feel a shaking sort of. I clicked on suspension because of how rough it feels riding right now and I dont know if im just feeling the steering or if its affecting the whole ride. It has been very comfortbale since bought new in 2012.

2 Suspension Noise problem of the 2012 Kia Motor Optima

Failure Date: 02/25/2017

Car drives with loose steering and clunking noise that fairfax kia refuses to test drive it long enough to hear. Jerks left suspension on rough pavement on left side only. There are lots of big bolts on the left strut and I believe these bolts are either dangerously loose or the strut itself is broken. Noise is suttle. Have complained 3 times to dealer.

3 Suspension Noise problem of the 2012 Kia Motor Optima

Failure Date: 07/22/2016

At 60k miles, steering has become difficult to maintain, steering column is loud and makes a popping noise, and now there is some type of clunk in the front suspension that can be heard when steering angle is being altered while simultaneously bridging a bump. Steering wheel sticks at speeds above 55mph, and thus over-steering is necessary in order to maintain tracking. Dealer informs me that some $4 plastic gear needs replacing somewhere, but that it will be $400 in labor to replace, but they can't even guarantee replacing this part will fix the issue. What a joke- this is my first and last kia/Hyundai product.

5 Suspension Noise problem of the 2013 Kia Motor Optima

Failure Date: 09/15/2014

When I first bought the car in July 2013, it was less then two weeks and I told them at century kia something was wrong with the steering. I later took it and had the alignment looked at I was told it was off just a little bit on the passenger side. About two months later it is swaying all over the road, I called century kia and spoke with their repair department and explain the problem to him and he suggested it sound like maybe a suspension problem and I told him it was an alignment issue but he told me they would need to check it out to make sure, I was going to take it somewhere else to see if it's the same thing but will allow them to look at it again. Hopefully I will get some real help because I really like my car as well.

6 Suspension Noise problem of the 2014 Kia Motor Optima

Failure Date: 05/01/2014

Hi my name is james I have 2014 kia Optima lx. I have the car since it had 2 miles and now has 14700. What is ridiculous is the struts make clunking noise over speed bumps. The car changes lane by its self. You can hold the steering wheel center and the car goes to the left. Took it to the dealer and they said it's normal. Lies all lies . Please tell me how my struts have a small leak but not enough to do anything about it I thought it was a new car. It seems like the car was made poorly and rushed. I also feel as if kia is lying about gas mileage again. The steering feels terrible when you are on the highway. They are a sad excuse for a car company and am completely disappointed with them. The refuse to help to acknowledge that there is an issue with the Optima steering I have a family member with a 2013 kia Optima lx with the same steering issue. So tell me how do they have the same steering issue if the 2014 was redesigned. The car seems like it leaks air into the cabin they say other wise. I'm not a happy customer and won't be till they put a recall for mpg. Suspension. Steering and brakes.

7 Suspension Noise problem of the 2012 Kia Motor Optima

Failure Date: 01/16/2012

Right rear suspension makes creaking noise, progressively worse over time. Suspension was greased up, but problem recurred after one week. Concerns that assemble may come loose while driving. Noise worse on uneven surfaces or when eight is redistributed to right side (e. G. Drive through windows sometimes elevate from the left causing car to lean on right side; uneven parking lots will cause creaking sound).

There is a knocking sound that seems to be on both sides of the front end. I have had the care aligned and it does not seem to be part of the alinement, also indications from others is that it is related to sway barn ends. Others on the kia forum indicate similar problems. . Read more...

11 Suspension Noise problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Optima

Failure Date: 10/18/2006

Front suspension rattles, bounces not absorbing bumps and road well for a new car. Tires sound hollow over bumps, and ping also. Tires have been replaced by kumho tire manufacture, but still have the same problem. Dealer says there is no problem with the front end of the car. I have been requesting help from dealer since I bought the car. The tire pressure monitoring system light is always going on no matter if I have less air or more air in the tires, its become a real problem.

12 Suspension Noise problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Optima

Failure Date: 10/01/2006

Immediately after purchasing my 2006 kia Optima, I noticed a distinct "clunking" sound emanating from the front suspension every time I encountered a sharp bump in the road. I complained to the dealer on several occasions and was told that "they are all like that. " I do not consider this a satisfactory response.
