Hi jeff I just collected my kia Rio from service at lafontaine. On driving in the freeway I noticed I had to make frequent adjustments to the steering when going straight and there was oversteering (minor tilt of the steering wheel result in exaggerated larger turn of the car). This does not happen when driving at lower speed outside of the freeway. I will monitor this as I am not sure if this was because I was switching between cars and/or that particular stretch of road is slippery. According to the technicians the alignment is back to spec so I will let you know if this issue persists as I drive the Rio more in the coming days. Hi team the car veers to the left when driving with steering wheel straight. Tested in a clear non wet road. Please advise on next step. When driving on freeway there are over steering and understeering issues. Extremely dangerous. Yours sincerely travis.

Hi yoon my kia Rio 2023 s VIN number is 3kpa24ad4pe603946. Bought a couple months back new at summit place kia auburn hills michigan. Once I drive off I realised the steering wheel alignment is off. The car does not drive straight when steering wheel is straight. I called my salesman and he asked me to bring it in for servicing at summit place. They did a wheel alignment there and found misalignment at factory condition. A few months later the same issue got worse and was noticeable again when driving. I called my salesman and he told me bringing it into service will incur a service charge as this issue is not under warranty. However, I believe this constant misalignment is from a manufacturing defect causing safety issue and you could access the servicing records that said the wheel alignment was already off at the first emergency servicing. I have also made sure all my tire pressures are topped up to the recommended pressures kindly advise and rectify this road safety issue.
There has not been an incident yet but I don’t know who else to talk to. I am a fedex delivery driver and driver the largest delivery truck made for fedex and am fine with it ask day. However, the steering on my car is down right dangerous. My car drifts all over the road. It is ten times harder to keep my little cat on the road than my big work truck. So hard in fact that I have resorted to this. I am a good driver never even a ticket so I know how to drive. It’s not my driving please listen when I tell you something is way wrong with the steering or suspension or both on this vehicle. Just drive one and you will see very quickly what I am saying I promise!.

Traffic came to a sudden stop, I could not stop in time. I hit the tires of a semi trailer, that collision threw me down an embankment where I hit a tree head on. The air bags did not deploy.

My car pulls hard to the right when I press the gas pedal and I have to turn the steering wheel to the left to compensate for that. As soon as I pull my foot from the gas pedal, the car immediately goes to the left and I have to bring the steering wheel to the normal position. This happens 100% of the time. I feel this is a potentially dangerous situation since I have to pay close attention to the timing in order to keep the car straight at higher speeds. I am the first owner of the car and the car was properly maintained by my local mechanic (I have records of even oil changes) and even after alignment and tire change for the problem by a kia dealer, the problem is still there. I've been to 2 different kia dealers and I was told this is a "normal" situation in these kinds of cars and it happens to "all of them at high mileage". I also tried to reach the regional office and after numerous phone calls I didn't get a response from there yet. The car is at 98,000 miles and I've had the problem for about more than 3 months. I believe kia either should honor their 100k mile warranty or if it is happening to "all of them" and it is "normal" they should move their official warranty lower (for example 80k miles etc. ) or they should warn the consumer about this "normal" situation with big letters in their advertisements and manuals.

: the contact stated that since the vehicle was purchased on January 19th 2005, it has been experiencing problems with the carburetor and a bad odor that comes from the engine. The vehicle was also sold to the contact without notification of recall defect to the carburetor. The vehicle was taken to the dealers to have a part replaced to remedy problems with the carburetor but vehicle consistently experiences the same problems. The vehicle was taken back on ten other occasions for services related to the problem. The vehicle was than taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the problem was related to fuel injection system. The manufacturer was notified and provided a referral to another dealers for service. The vehicle has been taken to the recommended dealer for service. The engine light illuminated, however the dealer refused to address the problem. The vehicle was pulling to the right, an alignment was performed. The consumer heard a wind noise while driving. The brakes were making a loud noise. Updated 08/01/06.

While driving 35 mph steering wheel would pull to the right, and a loud noise would be coming from the steering wheel. Also, vehicle would stall for no reason while driving. Driver would maintain control and pull to the side of road. Had vehicle towed to dealership, and mechanic could mot determine the cause of either problem.
Consumer stated there was a whistling noise in the front end of vehicle and the steering would become loose at 55 mph.
I have had my kia for 3 years now (bought on April 24,2001), after only having it one year(April 25, 2002) my two front tires were shredded all the way to the metal. The dealer said that my tires were only covered for a year so I had to replace them, come to find out it was caused by the alignment that showed no sign of being off. Right after that the cooling fan shorted causing the engine to smoke and the car to be in the shop for 2 weeks because kia couldn't order the right part. Soon after that both of my sunvisors broke to the point they are not usable. Kia told me that it would be $35 each to replace, not covered under warranty considered normal wear and tear. My alignment has been fixed 4 times in 3 years with normal driving conditions and regular maintenance. The shifter ( automatic) has gone out twice. Once resulting in kia having to replace the whole shifter. The car is constantly vibrating, really bad when a/c is on. The brakes have always made noise and occasionally "stick" dealer said there may be a recall coming out, that was 3 years ago, haven't heard anything yet.

When driving 65 mph vehicle swerves from left to right. Vehicle is hard to control. Took to dealer and dealer indicated vehicle needed new bushings, front end alignment and tires. Consumer stated that the dealer has not agreed that any thing is wrong with the vehicle. But 9 alignments, 4 new tires and ball bearings were replaced at less than 2000 miles.
Steering wheel wobbled. This vehicle was replaced with a new vehicle, butproblem started again, dealer told consumer to have tie tires and the suspension checked.
Engine check light comes on repeatedly with cause unknown. The only corrective action dealership did was to change a code in the vehicle's computer system. Faulure caused vehicle not to exceed 5 mph.
