1 Wheel Cover/hubcaps problem of the 2005 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 04/12/2006

I bought my 2005 kia Sedona in September 2005. In the month of April I noticed my hub caps were peeling. When I contacted my kia dealer he informed me that it was not a defect but instead they wheels must have been cleaned with an acid base cleaner. I told him I had already contacted my car detailer and they said they do not use any cleaner like that because they are well aware of the fact this can happen. When I relayed this to the service manger at the dealership he said they must be wrong. But in any case he would replace only the ones that were peeling and would only do it this one time. From now on I would have to purchase them. He also said he had other customers with the same problem and he only replaced theirs once and some have paid to have them replaced up to four times in the past year. But again he said it's not kia's problem. I think he needs to rethink this and kia does to. They use cheap plastic hub caps and need to do something about it.

9 Wheel Cover/hubcaps problem of the 2004 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 06/05/2005

I was notified via a letterdated June 13,2005 of a recall to correct a defect on my vehicle. (campaign id# 05v232000). I immediately called the dealer to schedule an appointment for the repairs. Dealer notified me of awareness of the recall but no parts were available at that time to complete the repairs. Dealer indicated he would call me when the parts were available. I waited approx. Four weeks then called the dealer. Again no parts. I then called kia customer affairs dept. They have no idea when parts will be available. They suggested I take the vehicle to the dealer for inspection and if a defect was found the vehicle would be impounded until parts became available. I think kia is taking far to long to correct this problem. The recall was to begin June 5, 2005. Owners were notified via letter dated June 13, 2005. As of July 12, 2005 they have no idea when repairs can be made. Must people be killed before action is taken?.

10 Wheel Cover/hubcaps problem of the 2002 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 01/21/2005

I have had numerous problems with my kia Sedona. Within a few months of ownership the head gasket blew and it was towed in and replaced. Then the windshield broke during the night in the garage with no weather extremes. I replaced that. In 2 years I've had 2 blowouts to the front driver's tire. The only 2 in my whole 30+ years of driving. Dealer says its not the car. The front wheel bearings were replaced. In Dec 2004 the engine was replaced, the lumbar support was broken and fixed, the driver's doorhandle broke and was fixed by kia. Jan18 it was back in because the hood release was not working. It was fixed and we picked up the vehicle 1/19. On 1/21 the gas pedal stuck, I brought it in and they fixed it immediately. " the cover had fallen down and they tied it back up. " obviously not a good job because it stuck again on the way home at 65mph. I was finally able to stop the car and had it towed back in. I think it is a death trap!.
