Both control arms broke and the front tires were ruined. The tow truck driver said they are lucky , they didn't get hurt because if they were going faster , they would have lost control and rolled the van.

At 18,870 miles the left front tire of my 2018 kia Sedona sx limited (original to van kumho crugen 235/55/r19) began to pull to the left during highway driving. Went to local firestone dealer. They placed the tire on the right side and pulled to right. They suggested I take it to the kia dealer to have cam bolts adjusted. Went to kia dealer where I purchased the van. They were no help refused to do anything they said nothing wrong with the tire. Went back to firestone and purchased a new kumho crugen 235/55/r19 tire and had it put on. Upon examining the tire they said the steel belts had shifted. Contacted kia dealer with no response. Contacted kia corporate and received a refund for cost of new tire. At 39,444 miles again the left front tire (original to van kumho crugen 235/55/r19) began to pull severely to the left during highway driving. Went to local firestone dealer. The steel belts had shifted severely mishaping the tire. At this point I purchased 4 new tires of a different brand.

Have gotten tire rotations regularly. Dealer told me after this rotation, that there was cupping on these tires. They only have 23487 miles on them. Maintainance was done and inflation kept at book level. Dealer says tire manufacturer is liable for warranty. Tire manufacturer sys dealer needs to file claim and that the cupping is not safety issue and won't honor the warranty. These are the original tires from when we bought the car new. Manufaturer is hankook. Tire is dynapro hp2 ra33 bw. Sku1011758 part# uhk18 23560bw. They obviously have a manufacturing defect to have this happening at such low mileage. It was not owner neglect!.

Bought a brand new car at 20 miles on odometer. While driving home steering wheel was shaking badly. I was surprised to feel this since it is a brand new car. I went to service next day they could not find anything wrong with tires or suspension and was told this is how this car design to drive. I was told that if there is know visible issue with the tires kia would not replace it under warranty. Now I'm stuck with this brand new car that drives like 10 years old car.

The front brake caliper mounting brackets bolts loosen and fall out causing caliper failure. This also cause the caliper to become loose and scrub the inside of the rim which in turn damages both the caliper and the rim. This happens while in motion both on highways and city streets.

My air bag light is on and I talk to kia about it they want to charge me a price for to take it off I hae a wheel bearing promble to. I had to get my wheel bearing repair to.
I was driving on route 55 with my 2yr old daughter and I was going 70mph when the tread separated from the tire causing my car to fishtail in between both lanes on the highway until I was able to gain control again and got my car to the shoulder of the highway. The defective tire is a firestone wilderness ht 225/70r15.
Tl- the contact owns a 2015 kia Sedona. The contact stated that after buying her vehicle she noticed that 3 of the tires where bad and the air bags where disabled from the vehicle. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph the vehicle started the vibrate and shake, however the contact stated that she called the dealer and told them about the failure and they informed the contact that the collision light burnt out and to take it to a kia dealer ship and they would repair it for free. The vehicle was taken to hudson kia : 36 water st, jersey city, NJ 07305 (201) 380-1220 where they informed the contact that the air bags where disabled because of the sensor that needed to be changed and that the front driver side tire and both rear tires was fault and the belt was separating from the tires. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 64,073. Dr.

This is the third kumho crugen kl33 tire that has had radial run-out or tread separation in less then 6 months. First two where on the front axle and most recent one is on the pass rear. The recent event was on a return road trip covering about 230 miles in I 10 between san antonio and houston, there was no road debris or other issues that would have caused tire damage under a road hazard. Since then the tire has developed a wheel hop and vibration to the rear.
Right rear tire blew out on the thruway, causing loss of control and braking.

The entire wheel hub assembly is rusted and shield is rusted to the point of crumbling. After the last recall on the control arm, the vehicle began thumping at every turn. A few weeks later the bearings seized up. Upon further inspection the wheel hub, attachment bolts, and shield are all rusted in place.

Vehicle has 12,000 miles on it rotate tires every 4-5000 miles. Noticed a loud noise coming from the wheel wells on the interstate, drove to the local mechanic, checked our wheels found square spots on the inner tire treads. Unsafe to drive he called in tires at the tire shop, tire shop let him know that they are using the same tire on the newer model but the word extra load is on the tire, replaced two of the tires because money is scares. Complained to kia consumer they stated it is the tire company's problem (hankook) and not kia. Called hankook tire hq in NJ and they state it is kia and hyndia's problem. This is a very dangerous situation where this is a family type van and the belts are stretching and eventually they will brake possible injury and or death. Don't know where else to go no one is listening. Need help with this situation.
I was driving with my 3 young children in my 2006 kia Sedona when another driver pulled out in front of me causing me to apply the brakes, at which time I lost control of the van which nearly rolled over. I later learned that when the brakes were applied, the driver's side lower control arm completely broke due to rust which is what caused me to lose control. Thankfully, the van came to a stop but only because the wheel broke and became lodged. Had this accident happened on the freeway, there would have been serious injuries or fatalities. Corrosion on the front lower control arm was part of a recall issued in November 2013. On February 20, 2014 (before I owned the van), the van was taken to a kia service center for service related to the recall. A rustproof coating was applied to the rear control arms and the front were visually inspected and determined to be fine. Just over a year later the part determined to be "safe," broke from simply applying the brakes which very easily could have resulted in devastating consequences. I contacted kia on may 22, 2015. As of June 3, 2015 (13 days since the incident) I am still awaiting a response from kia as to what corrective action they will take. I fear for the safety of my family to ever drive this vehicle again.

My fiance' dropped our oldest daughter off at school. While driving home she heard a loud clunk but everything felt fine. She then went to drop off our youngest at the babysitters. She then went to turn around in the driveway and heard a loud pop and felt the front end of the van fall. She got out to find the driver's front tire completely flat and the sway bar shoved into the tire. Upon further inspection we found both sway bar end links had completely failed. The balls had completely rusted out of their sockets and allowed the sway bar to fall in a way that allowed it to rupture the tire. Kia has a problem with front suspension components rusting out and failing. We were going to take the van in for the lower control arm recall because they are breaking due to rust. I contacted my dealer and they told me the tire and sway bar would not be covered by the control arm recall. I am currently working with Kia Motors to see if they will resolve this issue. Had this happened while travelling down the road at highway speeds, the outcome would have been much worse and possibly tragic. I do have pictures of the damage if needed.
We have a 2005 Sedona which we love. It's been a great car for us. Unfortunately, we have had ongoing issues with it for some time now. Our main problem and concern right now is with the front end struts and or alignment. The noise and knocking at low speeds (especially when accelerating from a stand-still) is troublesome, but more troublesome is that we constantly need to replace the front tires. We are going on our 4th set of new tires (for the front alone) due to alignment issues. No balancing or alignment work has helped. After hours of research on line, it seems that the front brakes may be undersized causing the rotors to over heat and warp. The struts also seem to have a wrong type of mount system and have to be replaced. There are numerous complaints to be found on the web from people with similar issues. There is a TSB on the topic (cha015) regarding new strut mounts, but we are not sure what to do about it now. . Read more...
My vehicle shakes badly. . . Kia, where I purchase my 2006 told me, it is the sub frame which causes my van to shake. The salt in pennsylvania causes the frame of this van to rust away. I well not be able to drive it! there is no recall. . . This will cost me $2,000. 00. I believe if you live. . . Where it snows. The vehicles should be made for states which have snow. . . . . And use salt on the roads. Why should I have to paid for this. The sub frame needs to be recall by kia manufacturer. The mileage on my van is 63,553. Also, kia stated that it will not pass inspection. There was a recall on lower control arms. They fixed that, but still it shakes. It's the sub frame. Guest what! they inspected my van on Jan 8, 2014,. Kia, passed my van for good condition and my van was inspected after they corrected the control arms. Again, it still shakes. . . . It is the sub frame. How did kia pass the van for inspection. "the sub frame is still rotten". So, are they waiting for a accident to happen or someone is killed. Kia you need a recall on sub frame!.
Was driving normally and suddenly left front wheel started skidding as it felt like it was turned in a direction that opposed the other front tire direction. Vehicle quickly became unstearable. Left lower control arm was found to be totally rust weakened with large rust holes and cracks. . . . . And after part was removed by a mechanic, I could easily bend the whole control arm in half with very little effort. If this sudden failure had occurred moments earlier with my kids on the way to school and on the highway. . . . This could have been a much worse result. As a result, I also had to replace both front tires, certain parts connecting to this control arm and had to have the vehicle realigned. The opposite control arm on the right side seems to look 'normal' with no apparent rust weakening. It seems as though the intact side has a type of coating that is intact and the failed side is missing much/most of the coating.
I got these tires from wal mart on 07/03/2012 in July I went to take wife to work found my tire flat changed out found side wall came apart. This was a 60000 mile tire why would this happened I have been mechanic from over ten yrs. Never had this problem with tires. Could you tell me why?.
The wheel bearings disintegrated and caused the whole hub to come off. Luckily we were right around the corner from our destination and weren't going very fast.
I took my 2010 kia Sedona to sears today. I have had it at sears before and at the kia dealership 3 times. All of my tire keeps losing air. After a breakdown of one tire today, sears determined it is a imperfection of the wheel is welded together. They examined a second wheel and it had the same problem. Will be taking it back to kia dealership for the fourth time.

The contact owns a 2004 kia Sedona. While driving approximately 65 mph, the contact heard a loud cracking noise. A few moments later, he heard a loud explosion. The contact pulled over and noticed that there was a hole in the rear passenger side hub and the bearing was missing. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in recall 05v232000 (wheels). The vehicle had not been repaired. The current and failure mileages were approximately 97,000.
The back right wheel came off of our 2003 kia Sedona van. My wife heard a loud noise as she was driving down the road. She applied the brakes but the car had difficulty stopping. She managed to pull the van over to the side of the road. When the tow truck came, it pulled the van about a foot before the entire right rear wheel came off. Had she been traveling on the highway, she and my 3 children might not have survived the incident.
I had the front wheel bearings and hubs replaced at 65,000 miles on my 2004 kia Sedona under warranty due to play in the hub. Last month during a brake inspection I was informed that they are bad again the vehicle now has 106,000 miles. This is a potential hazard as when they fail completely the wheel will fall off potentially causing a serious accident. I believe this to be a design flaw since this only vehicle I have owned in 30 years that needed bearings replaced even once much less twice in 100,000 miles. Just to let you know the rear bearing were replaced twice already under warranty one time under a recall and another time as a result of another brake inspection.
The contact owns a 2003 kia Sedona. While driving 20 mph the contact heard a loud vibrating noise. The contact stated the faster he drove, the more noise the vehicle made. He stated that he drove the vehicle to the dealer and was told that his vehicle was not part of the recall. The contact referenced recall NHTSA campaign id number: 05v232000, component, wheels. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 83,000 and the current mileage was 84,000.
The contact owns a 2004 kia Sedona. While driving approximately 45 mph she heard a roaring noise coming from the wheels. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where she was informed she needed new wheel bearings on all four wheels. The manufacturer was notified and she was informed her vehicle was not included in the recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 05v232000, wheels. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 78,000 and the current mileage was 90,000.
While driving at 10 mph ,my daughter and I heard a clunk in the rear of our 2004 kia Sedona lx. I was heading for a repair shop as a result and heard a second clunk and pulled off on a side street and drove 200 feet when the wheel bearing assembly came apart and the whole wheel flew off the van.
The contact owns a 2003 kia Sedona. While driving approximately 45 mph on normal road conditions; there was a burning odor inside and outside of the vehicle. The driver pulled over to the side of the road. Upon vehicle inspection he observed that the front driver and passenger wheels had excessive heat build-up. His vehicle identification number was excluded from recall campaign id number 05v232000 (wheels). The vehicle has not been repaired for the malfunction. The failure and current mileages were 103,000.
I am writing a complaint about the rotors and brakes on my 2005 kia Sedona. I know many others that own the same type of van and are having the same problem. I have taken it in the dealer and they have told me that they know and are aware of the problem but there is nothing they can do. They have told me that the rotors need to replaced and that the brakes also need to be. I have taken it in several time to have my brakes checked and have been told that they are fine and that there is something wrong with the rotors and that it is a dealer problem. I would like for this to be looked into more as to I would not want to have an accident with such a problem to my van.
The contact owns a 2005 kia Sedona. While driving 10 mph, the rear passenger wheel detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a mechanic for repair. Through online research, the contact discovered NHTSA campaign id number 05v232000 (wheels); however, her VIN was not included in the recall. She felt that the vehicle was unsafe to drive because the wheel bearings were very unsafe. The mechanic stated that this was a common issue with her particular vehicle. The current mileage was 80,500 and failure mileage was 79,800.
