Windshield Problems of Kia Motor Sedona

The front windshield first started making creaking and popping noises. Then a leak began in the same area of the noises. Water leaks onto the floor near the brake pedal and causes a slippery surface under my feet. Now I have been told that the entire window frame of the front windshield is moving when the car moves and could pop out of place or shatter while driving.

I have had numerous problems with my kia Sedona. Within a few months of ownership the head gasket blew and it was towed in and replaced. Then the windshield broke during the night in the garage with no weather extremes. I replaced that. In 2 years I've had 2 blowouts to the front driver's tire. The only 2 in my whole 30+ years of driving. Dealer says its not the car. The front wheel bearings were replaced. In Dec 2004 the engine was replaced, the lumbar support was broken and fixed, the driver's doorhandle broke and was fixed by kia. Jan18 it was back in because the hood release was not working. It was fixed and we picked up the vehicle 1/19. On 1/21 the gas pedal stuck, I brought it in and they fixed it immediately. " the cover had fallen down and they tied it back up. " obviously not a good job because it stuck again on the way home at 65mph. I was finally able to stop the car and had it towed back in. I think it is a death trap!.

I've had a number of problems with my 2003 kia Sedona. Initially one of the gaskets leaked and had to n be replaced. The windshield cracked overnight in the garage when there was no weather extremes. The wheel bearings went in the front tire. Recently the engine had to be replaced because it was leaking and after replacing all the gaskets it couldn't get pressure. The driver's door handle broke, the lumbar support stopped working. The hood wouldn't close properly. And on top of all those things I've had 2 blowouts to the front driver's tire in a 2 year period. The dealer says there is nothing wrong with the wheel but I'm not sure he even checked because of the engine problems he had to deal with.

Windshield cracked twice. Both times the crack starts below the black plastic trim- not a rock/stone chip at all. 1st windshield was replaced by my insurance company. I am trying to get dealer to replace 2nd.

Our kia sadona is a 2002 model and has about 52,000 miles on it. It has had problems with the transmission, brakes and the windshield has been replaced three times etc. Today however, my husband was driving the vehicle when the front drivers side seat in the vehicle broke. The seat broke completely out of it's chamber. Thank god this did not happen during an accident. The dealership said they would be replacing the part that broke under the warranty however it will be awhile before they get the part in. They refused to provide us with a safe vehicle to drive during the time it takes to get it fixed and kia corporate also refused saying they do not provide rentals even if the part is a defect from the manufacturer. They pride themselves on the warranty of the car parts but who cares how much you have to spend on rental cars while yours is in the shop so many times.

Windshield has some type of haze that appears cloudy through the driver's eyes. The haze makes it hard for the driver to see clearly. The kia representative indicated that the haze was a characteristic of the vehicle and that nothing could be done to correct it.

Consumer states that windshield cracked while sitting in driveway, and mechanic replaced it. Second time windshield cracked, the same thing happened. But now they do not want to replace it because they claim that a very small rock hit the windshield and caused it to crack. However, it did not crack because he had not been driving vehicle.

Kia-sedona. Winshield cracks. Battery draines when van sits 2 or more days. I hv contacted the dealr. Am scheduling service. Have had to jump start the van 3 times in the last year. Winshield cracked recently while driving(no objects involved). Believe this is an ongoing problem. Friend has similiar problem with 2002 Sedona. Dealer replaced. Driver window closes too tightly when button is held to close. Makes cracking noise.

The windshield cracks too easily. I will be replacing the windshield for the 2nd time in 18 months. They tell me it is a rock chip, however, the last windshield (factory installed had 2 cracks in it. This windshield has 5 cracks. All start in the black area of the windshield. I truly am worried that this is an ongoing problem and I will be replacing the window again.

The vehicle did not hold when going down a hill or no low range. There was a knocking sound coming from the motor(dealer didn't find problem), and a wind noise had come from the front glass while the vehicle was in motion.

1 may 03 update from letter below (sent kia addresses-side note: without "outlook" you cannot contact kia support via e-mail, letter cut to nothing to meet word requirement) kia customer affairs (steve larez 800 225-3193) contacted me said they would look into it (21 Apr 03). Steve calls me back (22 Apr 03) to inform me that he has talked to the distinct rep and that the best they would do was offer a windshield at wholesale cost. . Read more...

The windshield had a burn odor.

Windshields have distortions at eye level, causing consumer to see objects through windshields wavy. Dealer replaced windshield on 24 Sep 2001, then again on 29 Sep 2001. Both had same defects. Consumer looked through other kia windshields at dealership, all had the same distortions.

Front windshield shattered while driving. No injuries were reported. Dealer was notified. Feel free to provide any further information on this matter.
