Six problems related to brake disc pads have been reported for the 1996 Kia Motor Sephia. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Brake rotors severely worn, pads failed causing noise.
While backing vehicle up, heard a loud pop sound w/foot on brakes; also occurs when going forward; took to dealer & informed was front calipers & vehicle not drivable. Waiting for parts. Old calipers & brake pads replaced which caused brakes to lock up.
Brake pads failed twice, causing brakes to pulsate.
Several replacements of brake pads and rotors due to warping/vibration/shuddering, also glazed brake lining replaced due to squeaking noise when applying brakes.
Trying to make a sudden stop going 10mph, brakes didn't take, brake pedal went to the floor, hit the vehicle in front. Rotors and brakes pads were replaced afterwards, at times there's a loud noise and when the brakes are applied the noise stops and vice versa.
Brake pads replaced.
