Car Stall problems of the 1998 Kia Motor Sephia

Consumer states having a problem w/ith "cable" that goes from gas tank to engine. Consumer advises that cable is attached to a wiring harness that gets very hot and is showing signs of melting. As a result, vehicle stalls w/o warning and wirings have to be adjusted before vehicle is able to restart. Mr.

While driving about 10 mph and when slowing down for a red light vehicle stalled without prior warning.

Recalls 99v317000/99v318000, vehicle was repaired for the recalls on Jan 25, 2000, but vehicle stalled unexpectedly, causing a crash. Dealer is bill barrette kia, 11550 lbj freeway, dallas texas 75238 phone # 214-327-9361.

Vehicle would keep stalling for no reason. Had no warning. Been to dealer & informed by mechanic cause of problem not located. Was told battery was problem & it was replaced. Stalling problem still exist for 6 or more times afterwards.

Ie99059, sq99020, while driving vehicle stalled unexpectedly which could have resulted in a crash. Dealer could not determine the cause of the problem. However, dealer replaced brakes. Please provide further information.

Vehicle will intermittently stall while driving. It happens at any speed. Contacted dealer, and the dealer stated that starter's fuse burned out.

Since purchase date I have had numerous problems such as vehicle stalling in middle of highway, engine light staying on, radio, air conditioner and most importantly the brakes. The original brakes failed at 5560 miles, replacemts at 7520 miles, again at 10750 miles. This is a major inconvenience and I am afraid an accident will occur.

Recall # 99v318000 kisa engine/stalling (c304/c305). When consumer contacted dealership, dealer stated that parts would be available in about a week. When contacting dealer for the second time, no parts were available. Dealer has no idea when parts will be available. Consumer worried because recall states condition would result in death.

While driving on the highway vehicle will completely stall without warning, nearly causing a collision. Please give any further details.

Vehicle stalls and loses power from 50 mph to 40 mph. Dealers are not able to duplicate problem. Also vehicle has many other defects. Consumer states while traveling 45-55 mph, vehicle will decrease in speed approximately by 3-15 mph, this happens almost on a daily basis. Difficulty shifting into reverse and 5th gear, with vehicle in reverse and on an incline, vehicle will stall while attempting to back up.
