Door Problems of Kia Motor Sephia

At cold temperatures driver's side door had trouble opening and closing. When taken to dealer for service the same problem continued. There was an incident where consumer was driving and suddenly the door opened. Consumer had to hold the door shut until she arrived at her destination.

When below freezing, doors and locks consistently freeze, and will not allow entry or will not close properly (doors will not close). This has happened every year I have owned the car. This past year, the kia dealer tried to fix, and only improved for a few days (lubricate/oil etc). Usually had to "warm up" car for about 15 minutes to defrost lock just to be able to close doors (I tried to not lock car once winter begins). The locks are frozen daily and cannot lock or unlock until interior is warmed up. Not looking forward to winter again.

Consumer states that the rubber strips on all four doors have came loose on 2 different occasions, consumer stated that this caused moisture inside the vehicle, and on cold days, frost would build up on the inside of the windows, this also caused the carpet to mildew and mold, kia replaced the rubber strips, however one is coming loose again.

Got out of vehicle to check my mail w/2 kids, 22 months & 6 months in car. Ignition & emergency brake left on. Came back to car, pulled door handle to open doors, and automatic power locks clicked and locked doors when I lifted the handle to open driver's side door. Kids were locked in unheated running car for over 1 hour. Police called, tow service got car open. Doors should 1) not lock when simply pulling on door handle to open door & 2) should not lock with key in ignition. Younger child slept through incident, but older child was very scared and distraught. This could have been a disaster had the car been in a garage (I. E. Carbon monoxide poisoning).

Weather stripping on the door(right rear) keeps coming off and doesn't allow the door to close properly. Service 4 times and replaced twice.

We have had many prblems with this car. First the orvr valve for the gas tank wead, then we have had prblems with the automatic door locks not opening or closing the other doors from the drivers side door, then the automatic windows on the passanger side both the front and back doors have gone up very slowly almost to the point of having to push them up by hand. Then a dash was replaced, do to it bubling up. We have a battery replaced once because the vehicle would not turn over at all. Also just recently we have the same problem, after only two weeks of the dealership that we took the vehicle to did a electrical check on the car and said that it was ok (tempe Dodge kia) located in temmpe, az. The reason we had them check the electrical system out was because after the replaced the dash we noticed that the indicator lights for the fan and the air flow selactor were dimming out and the a/c was running really slow at idle speed. All in all this car has been a nightmare and we haved cotacted kia mottors corp. Several times with no real answers to are problems and no compensation or upgrade of a warranty on the existing warranty. Bought new car. Several electrical malfunctions. Inside door locks (repaired 2 times). Horn malfunction (repaired 2 times). Spark plugs, wires, and coil (replaced 1 time). Rear defrost malfunction (repaired 1 time. ) air filter cover screws and holes stripped out (replaced 1 time). Air conditioner fan-scraping noise (never repaired). Outside door locks malfunction (currently being looked at). Stick shift was "jumping around"-rear motor mount was bad (replaced 1 time). Knock sensor malfunction (replaced 1 time). Dash dials not working (replaced fuse 1 time). Problems started day after I purchased car-should have heeded the obvious warning! do not buy kia!.

Brakes,lights,seats,battery,airbags,odometer,leaks,aircondition,leftdoorhandle (tiresize: 14`)( dot number: tire size: 14` ).

The door straps have rusted, and the door molding have turned white.

Brake pads and rotors have been replaced 4 times in less than 1year and at 30,335 miles right now, service department fights with us each time we bring car in. Car does not start up right away, it turns a few times before it finally does, took to service department 2 times, they are unable to diagnose problem. When driving at times when you step on gas car hesitates to go, almost like it is out of gas, but it is not. After 2mths. Of using airconditioner this summer, it completely stopped working, took to service department, diagnosed with leaky "o" rings, they repaired under warranty. Rear doors when opening hit the edge of closed front doors, service department said they needed new door stoppers, haven't got them yet.

Weather strip on right rear door came loose.

The back doors stick. Nlm.

The power door locks fail intermittently. Nlm.

Cables are hanging from out the sides of 3 doors. Dealer will not repair at his expense. When car is in reverse, the windows won't do anything. Consumer has a board inside the panel to keep the window up.

Vehicle overheated. Also, rear doors were stuck.

The door seal bunches up when the door is closed, the dealer replaced the door weather strip. Nlm.

The window seal is faulty causing rain to leak into the vehicle onto the right front floor, the weahterstrip on the right rear door is distorted. Nlm.

Failure of front brakes 3 times, dash board wire harness failure causing dash board displays, starter wire harness failed and needed to be replaced, paint rubbing off and blistering, lowed noises/vibration under driver side when driving in wet condittions,, poor gas milage, faulty gas guage, broken right rear speaker, back right door weather gasket falling off for the third time, slopp steering responce during quick turns.

Vehicle taken to dealer 4-5 times for driver's door repairs. Door will not stay shut. While driving door will fly open. Other times consumer is not able to open door at all. Dealer has replaced seal + lubricated seal.

Signal lights fail to work properly when in use during cold weather for 15 minutes or so. Sometimes this happens when it's raining. The dealer replaced the hazard switch and there have not been any failures since. Seat belts have been replaced 3 times. Brakes and rotors have been replaced 3 times. Windshield wipers failed prior to recall. Head gasket replaced at 3500 miles. Molding on the doors fell off and was replaced. Tailpipe was replaced due to excessive exhaust fumes.

Molding is deformed at rear door. Nlm.

The front passenger side door can not be opened from the outside because outer handle is inoperative. Nlm.

While drving the vehicle stalls without warning. Also, the braking system malfunctioned, causing extended stopping distance , and outside door handles broke off. Cause unknown. Dealer cannot determine problem. Please provide details.

Door assembly: passenger's and driver's side back door flies open unexpectedly. Took in to kia for repairs and they will not fix it because they couldn't duplicate. Also having problem with seat belts in back coming loose.

Armrest failed. Yh.

Problem w/left rear door.

Premature wear of brake pads and rotors. Dealer has repaired and replaced the brakes several times. In addition heater core, alternator, starter,spark plugs, front windshield and door weather strips failed.

Door seal failed. Nlm.

The door seals failed allowing fumes to enter the car. Nlm.

Complete lemon. Nothing but problems. Replaced brakes, transmission, 2 axles, windshield wiper motor, flywheel, faulty wiring in door, battery, starting problems, blinker switch replaced, seat tore upon car pick-up, too many things gone wrong to list.

Consumer states she now has a broken door handle, due to the repair shop locking the keys in the vehicle the driver's side lock is broken.

During the rain the door sticks. Yh.
