Low beam head lights stop working . Bulb needs replacement every few months.
On a number of occasions, both headlights on my 2014 kia Sorento have gone out at the same time. Usually if I open the headlight housing and twist the light plug this will cause the light to work. But other times one of the two lights will be burnt out. The issue is both lights go out at the same time. I have brought it to the attention of my local dealership but they could find nothing wrong.
Keep having to replace headlight bulbs and now headlights don't work at all ! had to drive home at night with only parking lights in FL keys, very terrifying and not safe at all. Prior to the lights not working I would have to replace a bulb at least every 3 months, got pulled over once by the police because a headlight was out and I didn't know it was out. I had just replaced it!.
Airbag light came on today while driving on the highway (roughly70mph), will not shut off, vehicle not under recall for airbags at this time. Headlights and taillights randomly come on and off, even with brand new bulbs, have changed bulbs almost monthly in last 3 years. Buttons on steering wheel do not work properly - including cruise control not working, volume button starts voice command, etc.
Low beam headlight bulbs burn out and need to be replace every 3 to 4 months. This issues has occurred while driving on highways like interstate 81 or highway 322 and 11/15 in pennsylvania. They have always burnt out with being stationary in parking lots at all times and season of the year. When one side burns out it can be a month to 4 months before the other side burns out. I purchased the vehicle in early 2019 and since that time I have replace almost 10 or more bulbs since owning the vehicle.
Hello, problems with the headlights of kia Sorento 2014, these are very dim and in the dark you can see little or nothing and this can cause a big accident on the road.
I have noticed that while driving at night, my headlights are extremely, dangerously dim. I have changed the bulbs, and I can still barely see in front of me without clicking on the high beams. What can be done about this issue? I am so terrified to drive at night, I only go five minutes away from my house if necessary. I'm also afraid I will get a traffic citation for driving with high beams on, but sometimes in my area with poor lighting, I have no other choice. I'm driving at night but depending on the car behind me to give me more light, which isn't good. If there's no traffic behind me, I'm definitely forced to put on the high beams.
The headlights don't shine on anything and it's hard to find your way at night. Speed control does not work. The engine has a different rhythm at 3000 rpm.
Headlights, especially low beam are dangerously dim. I can barely even see them shining on the road when driving at night.
Low beam headlights are dangerously dim. They have already been replaced once, I do not believe it is the bulb as iihs has rated these lights on this model as poor as well. While driving on any road without reflectors or overhead lights in the evening it is very hard to see the painted lines. I feel very unsafe on paved country roads, even ones that are straight for miles. Turns feel more dangerous, and this is even a problem on the highway in major cities where no overhead illumination is present on the roadway.
My headlights keep blowing out. I have been changing them every 2-4 months for the past year. They suggested I check for recalls and nothing. This could be very dangerous and buying headlights every 2-4 months gets expensive.
My headlights continue to blow out every few weeks, no matter what kind of bulb I use. Last night while on a very dark and rainy road, both headlights went out forcing me to drive with my hazards with my children in the car. Very dangerous. Apparently, this isn't an isolated incident.
This headlight problem has been ongoing with kia and since I purchased this vehicle in 2016 with 26,000 miles. And I replaced many headlight bulbs then December 2019 went to dealership to get led safety daylight headlight bulb replaced. Was told no bulb for it account it's encased in headlight assembly and to replace would cost over $900 for assembly. And told never seen that light ever go out. Prior to this I already had the other headlight assembly replaced for constant lighting problems. Which the dealership had in stock and that told me kia had a problem. Vehicle now has 72,000 miles on it. I called kia assistance and told them of problem with lights and the free replacement of the other assembly. I was denied the claim even though I told them of all the lighting problems and complaints filed with NHTSA. They were on deaf ears. So here I am filing my complaint and hoping enough pressure is applied to kia that they recall all models with the problem.
The headlights have repeatedly burned out. I would estimate that I have replaced the right side low beam 8-10 times and the left side 3-5 times. It's been roughly a 2:1 ratio. This last time both headlights burned out within an hour of each other at night. Fortunately I keep an extra bulb in the car and I was able to change out one of them so I didn't have to drive home with no headlights at all. This was a potentially dangerous situation. I have researched this and while I don't see a recall I do see that many owners have posted on forums that they're having the same issue. Just as a point of reference my 2014 silverado had the headlights replaced in 2017 after an accident and have I have yet to replace a headlight while driving the chevy approximately the same number of miles as the kia.
The front headlights are dangerously low and I have to drive with high beams on at night. Changing new bulbs doesn't fix the problem!.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 kia Sorento. The contact stated that the headlights were dim while driving at night. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer. The vehicle was taken to kia of augusta (706-312-9200, located at 1770 gordon hwy, augusta, GA 30904) for a check up. The technician offered to replace the headlights with aftermarket parts, for which the contact would be partly responsible for the cost. The contact could not tell whether the part was available. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.
Lighting from headlights is too dim to drive at night. Cannot see 5 feet ahead. Bulbs were replaced. Dealer adjusted them. Still no change. Dangerous to drive at night. I am limited to drive in daylight only as I cannot see to drive at night with 20/20 vision.
Burns out low beam headlights bulbs every 2 to 3 months.
Low beam headlights are dangerously dim. I have tried multiple different bulbs (led and halogen), with no change. They are dim enough that there is a shadow of my car in front of me when there is another car behind me at night.
Have had taillight bulbs replaced on several occasions. As soon as one is replaced, another blows. Some type of electrical problem. Also, headlights are not adjusted downward. Have had adjusted by dealership, but still cannot see at night! headlamps do not light road ahead of the vehicle.
Headlight lo beam quits functioning even though bulb is good. Removing and reinstalling sometimes starts it again. Sometimes just bumping it makes it work. Currently I can not get it to work again and the bulb looks good. Began 5/25/2018.
My front headlights keep going out. I've owned this vehicle for 3 years. It was purchased new. This is the 3rd time I've had this problem with this vehicle. I always drive with my headlights on, regardless if it's daytime or night. Sometimes the lights will function properly and other times the headlight(s) won't. I'd on occasion pop open the hood and using a closed fist, hit the top of the assembly and the light would go on. . . . . . . Now it will not go on no matter what I do. Like I mentioned earlier, this is the 3rd time this has happened. The first 2 times I had the dealership that I purchased the vehicle at repair the problem at my cost. Now I read blog pages that this is a common problem for several kia models but no safety recall has ever been issued. How can having no working headlights not be a safety issue. ??.
Lights keep going out. Seems every couple of months either headlights rear lights or break lights need to be replaced.
There appears to be an electrical issue that kia won't own up to. The battery is constantly dying after being checked and is good. Lights constantly go out I have replaced break lights headlights and taillights several times in last year. The airbag passenger side airbag does not go off. The steering panel does not control all functions. I am concerned this will lead to further difficulties with this vehicle.
Headlights in dim mode are dangerously dim. Car cannot be driven an night without being a safety hazard! this started over 3 years ago and has progressively gotten worse. Replace bulbs but dealer said there was nothing else they could do to improve lighting.
I just purchased this vehicle and the headlights are either very dim or have bad display. I can't really see anything at night and drive with my high beams on and even those are all that bright. I was figuring there has to be a recall of some kind, apparently not.
Headlights (low beams) will blow out when driving at least once a month. Very unsafe while driving. This has been an on going problem with this vehicle.
Lowbeam headlights are dangerously dim. Unable to see past 5 feet in front. Can't tell when they are on most times.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 kia Sorento. The contact stated that the front passenger's and driver's side low beam headlights failed on multiple occasions and were replaced six times. Also, the contact indicated that the front passenger's side accent light located above the headlights failed and no longer was illuminated. The cause of the failures were not determined. The local dealer was not notified. The manufacturer was notified of the failures however, no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 4,000.
The specs for the adjustment of hid lights are requiring the lights be set too low (not shining far enough) the road in front of the vehicle is illuminated for a few yards only, and the high beam light shines only as far as the low beam of me previous vehicles. This is very dangerous if one drives on a freeway at the allowed speeds (in some states this is 80 m/h). In my incident I was driving on I 80 in nebraska at about 12 am and did not see a chunk of truck tire laying on the roadway. I drove over the piece which subsequently was propelled under my vehicle and destroyed the protective plastic shield for the brake lines and tore off the fumes canister of the gas tank. Both could have ended up in a rather dangerous condition, and one has to ask, is a plastic shield the proper protection for these components? this would not have happened if the headlights would have illuminated enough of the road in front of the car which in turn would have allowed for an evasive maneuver.
Cannot read or extremely difficult to read the speedometer in daylight most of the time. Worse on brighter days. Must take eyes off road for several seconds to find needle to determine speed. Illumination is fine at night or in very shaded areas (ie garage). Seems as if instrument illumination reduces based on amount of interior light, even with illumination dial on max. Not wearing sun glasses and have tried multiple combinations of headlight/dtrl in an effort to find a workable solution. Dealer service says "working as designed". This is a major safety flaw as one cannot readily determine their speed without taking their eyes off road for too long a period of time. In its current state this car is unsafe to drive.
