Failure Date: 05/04/2020

Engine is making very loud noise and not drivable. When took to kia dealership they said that same problem happened to gdi 4 cyl engine and it was recalled but not the 6 cyl even though the problems are the same due to manufacturing defect. I called kia America and they said that they cannot do anything.

4 Loud Engine Noise problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2019

The car was running perfectly fine never had an issue with it. It randomly started knocking/ making a loud noise from the engine and shut off as I was d with my two kids. When I tried to start it back up it continually shut off, it would not stay running. It was running at normal temperature when I pulled over and turned the car off then turned the ignition back on then it showed hot on the temperature gauge. This all started in san bernardino California. I did not understand what the problem was, so I started looking up problems with a kia Sorento and found this form. License plate crzytwo driver info: tiffani m. Daugherty dob: 10/03/1988 dl #: d8035824.

5 Loud Engine Noise problem

Failure Date: 07/29/2018

I was driving my 2014 kia Sorento down a city street when my car completely shut off . Luckily I was only going about 30 mph. It lost all power and wont restart. It showed and currently shows a red steering wheel light (I've never seen before) and a dim battery display( which battery isn't even 4 months old and all features worked long as car was in aux mode) and also check engine light is on. It was putting off a bad odor afterwards, didn't smell of oil or any other fluids Sorento doesn't have any blown fuses nor did it have any service type lights on at time it shut off. It seemed to be driving fine until it shut off. No loud noise or shaking or anything have to take to dealer tomorrow had it checked for codes and isn't showing any having it towed to the dealership is my only choice.

6 Loud Engine Noise problem

Failure Date: 05/26/2017

I was driving on the highway and when I came to a point where I slowed all the way down my engine froze. Luckily it restarted but as soon as it did there was this terrible sound like a big rock was flying around in my engine. Also no check engine lights came on so there was no warning. Also the a/c stopped working about 1 yr ago. I had freon put in and it stop working about 6 months ago.
