When I went in for a routine tire rotation, I was told my driver's side coil spring was broken which presented a safety hazard as it could pop the tire. When calling for estimates, I was told that the coil spring must have been defective for a car of this year and mileage.

The tire sticker at the side of the driver door does not state what the required load and speed index should be for the tire. The manual does not have any information on the load index, and has a vague speed index chart (rating letter vs. Speed) referring to passenger vehicles in general but no mention of this particular vehicle.

All of the kia sorrento 2011 suspension struts, shocks, strut mounting plate front left needed to be replaced. It sounded like loose bolts and the noise would then be a loud knocking especially on road going up and down hills and turns. Also had to replace the tpms sensors, front and rear tension rods on both sides. This is the most costly car ever online numerous reports of same issue this should have a recall here is one reflecting same problem with sedona model - I suggest you check this forum under sedona 2002-2005 "sedona front strut". Kia has a history of strut noise related problems. They finally came out with a TSB (kt2007020501) on the front strut issue for 2002-2005 sedona's in early 2007 !!! we have to remember that TSB's are for acknowledged problems by a manufacturer and that they have a fix for said problem, thus the TSB to carry out fix. If the problem is not safety related then no TSB. Safety related issues are handled under recalls. An issue that is too expensive to fix and is not a safety issue is labeled "normal operating characteristics of vehicle" it's that simple and until you all start yelling to kia and not the service rep who is stuck between a rock and a hard spot you will not get results. My other sugestion to you guys is a mass letter writing campain to consumer reports automotive unit.

�takata recall� I continue to smell a burning smell under my hood but no one can seem to find it. It come and goes I had it checked was told all fluids are fine and no leaks. I pray it never catches fire as I have a grandson who rides with me often. Also my rear break light go out ever two months not sure why it is not just one side they take turns each side. Pressure in tires tend to go low very often for no reason please help me find out what is really wrong before something bad happens 🙏🙏 the burning smell scammers the most but I smell while in motion.

My 2016 had approximately 40,000 miles when it developed a shimmy on the highway. After inspection at sullivan tire, an authorized kumho dealer it was determined that 2 of my original equipment kumho krugen 235/55/19 tires were out of round and unbalanceable. All 4 tires had 6-7 32nd's of wear left. It was recommended I replace all. I replace all 4 tires and one of the replacement tires is out of round and unbalanceable. 3 out of 8 kumho krugen tires have manufacture defects.

I received a recall letter #17v224 on my kia. I recently took it back to the kia dealship I leased it from and service department ran a test on it and changed the oil which was changed in April. I was advise I need to buy a cabin air filter of $60. 00. Which I can't afford because I'm on short term on my job. I have complain about rattle noise from the engine and sounds from the bearing or axle. I lately been having problems with air blowing and only one aux plug work. I always having to get tires fix and aired up. My sister was killed last year in a SUV that had a recall on it same as my kia does and this kindy have me nervous of driving my kia but this is my only transportation. I asking for any help to resolve this I make my payments and need a reliable ride for me and my kids and mother.

Our 2006 kia Sorento all the sudden while driving on a very busy in city highway, started sounding like it kept trying to turn over and we pulled over. We noticed it started smelling hot but wouldn't turn off so my husband tried taking off the battery but couldn't because it was so hot it burned him and noticed smoke coming from the engine. We finally got it off so we tried to restart it but the battery was totally dead. The shop said the engine is gone.

Kia dealership rotated tires. Rear driver side tire flew off vehicle within 2 blocks of dealership service department. All lugs missing. Extensive damage to rear end dealership claims all lug nuts were properly attached and the attachment was witnessed by 2 technicians. If this is true the wheels can fly off of this vehicle at any time. I want them to video all future wheel service and recall all previous work. They could kill someone.

While traveling 70 mph, I suffered a front tire failure. A narrow strip 1" wide by 6" long separated from the tire. I wrote twice to kumho with no response. I have driven 50+ years and I have never had such a tire malfunction. I did not drive over anything as there was no other damage. This kumho tire should be reviewed for safety reasons.

When trying to open the drivers door, there was a loud pop and the door was unable to be opened from the outside. This is a major issue in the event of an emergency or an accident. I've gone to the kia dealer and they are quoting an outrageous amount just to take a look at the issue. This is inconvenient while I travel to and from work, as I have to climb through the passenger side in order to get in the car! the problem initially began December of 2014, and my father had to leave a stick or a wired hanger on the floor boards so that when entering the vehicle I would lean in through either the passenger or rear drivers door to open the driver door. On 8/4/15, the door has stopped working completely. This is obviously a manufacturing issue as the same thing has happened to the rear passenger door as well. I haven't found an independent repair person that can actually fix this issue and it's something that needs attention ASAP!.

Vibration, knocking and thumbing noise in the rear passenger's side and both front wheels. Dealer verified thumbing noise as left lower ball joint was loose,replaced both ball joint. Vibration, knocking and thumbing noise continues. Returned to dealer. Dealer replaced rear motor mount. Problems still remains. I phoned dealer, stating vibration, knocking and thumbing still remains including additional problems. In addition to the vibration, knocking and thumbing noises. . . Inside the car, underneath dashboard (glove compartment) causing huge amount of water on the passenger's side floor.

Driving apporox 55mph, my lights seemed to dim then my battery and brake light came on. I immediately turned my heater, radio, dashboeard lights and lights to low. I continued driving for nothing else seemed to be wrong and was going to pulll over when I noticed my power steering also was not working. I was able to get myself to a safe place to stop and put the car in park, it began making an odd sound (thinking a possible belt) it then made a popping sound thinking I broke a serpentine belt, I then turned the engine off and had my mechanic look at it. He said the crankshaft bolt had broken off and was an estimated $3000+ repair. I have also had issues with crankshaft sensor which caused my car to not turn over without a jump. After that was repaired I had to buy a new battery that prior to the winter season tested out to be good. Ihave also been told I need to replace a spark plug which could cost hundreds to replace because of the location. I have to replace headlights/taillights more than normal. I have seem to have issues with allignment and have put 2 sets of tires on after noticing abnormal wear on the insides, ive had it alligned twice. I still owe $6100 on a car that I would have to put $3000 into and now have nothing to drive!.

All 4 tires (kumho solus kl21 p235/65r17 103t m+s) on my 2103 kia Sorento are showing signs of cracking in the sidewall. The tread depth on the tires is still good. The cracking is very concerning.

While driving approximately 35 miles per hour on a paved city road, the driver's side front wheel caved into the vehicle (detached from the vehicle). The vehicle had never been in an accident nor hit any significant holes. The incident was spontaneous without any apparent cause. The vehicle was towed to a kia dealer, who found that the bottom bolt of the strut had broken and fallen out.

My dauther was on her way to work,she was coming to a stop at the end of the road and had no breaks and she contued on across the road whent up the bank across the road and when she reached the top it began sliding down and ended up laying on the passenger side. Tkankfully she was not hurt to bad. I have had the car check out,replaced the wendshield and passenger door window and mirror. The mechanic replaced the master cylinder,and still had no breaks,come to find out after calling kia they said it was the (hecu) unit. They are saying it will cost around 1500. 00 to replace this. I have never heard of nothing more rediclus. The car is still driveable. The passenger side doors are bent-up some,but they open and close just fine don't look good but its still driveable. I think kia should replace this (hecu) because its a factory defect.

Tl- the contact 2011 kia Sorento. The contact stated she had taken the vehicle to a tire dealer to replace four tires on the vehicle. The mechanic informed the contact that the core between the valve stems and the tire pressure sensors were corroded and could cause future failures. The rear driver side sensor was attached to the valve stem and the entire piece had broken off of the vehicle when air was inserted into the tire due to corrosion. The failure caused the "low tire pressure" sensor to not illuminate when the tires were low. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis and the dealer mechanic was not able to locate a problem. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the approximate failure mileage was 49,000. Gb.

I found that the rear left tire was seriously worn on the inside to the point that it needed to be replaced. I have never before seen a rear tire wear on the inside edge while the rest of the tire was still good at 32000 miles. What wouls cause the wear?.

For several weeks a noticeable clunk in rear axle. Obvious at initial start and upon deceleration from speeds above 30. When decelerating right at 30mph a click and clunk occur. Took it in to dealership in bradenton, florida, sunset kia. They kept vehicle overnight. I explained the problem was not normal and had only recently begun but was concerned since a mechanic friend thought it involved rear axle. I informed the kia service rep that a long trip through dangerous western us mountains was to begin soon and it must be safe. That day they called and said they did test drive comparing it with another car test driven and both did same thing. They concluded the car was "operating as designed. " the next day when I picked it up and stressed this was not "as designed" because it just began to act up I was told that the tech found "subtle movement of either trans mounts or drive axles. " this was also noted on my receipt from kia. My god they admitted the problem then would not repair it! when pressed as to the safety of this condition I was informed by dustin hoffman "well the axle could freeze up but just pull over. " I pressed "how can you do that safely on a highway doing 70?" unbelievable!!! when pressed about how they could let me, given my stated plans, leave in a potentially catastrophic accident waiting to happen the reply was simply "the tech found it to be operating as designed. " I noted my objections on their bill and my copy. I also noted the tech only drove the vehicle . 02 tenths of a mile according to the trip odo. The only thing they finally said was "the tech started a service line. " whatever that is.

Major rust problem with frame and suspension kia Sorento purchased March 30 2004 2 months past the warranty 85392 miles having just driven on the highway 65mph vehicle was entering school parkinglot, at the enterance vehicle went over speed bump at this point there was a loud bang and the vehicle started shaking and squeeling. Upon inspection the passenger side rear stabelizer-traction bar broke completely off the frame rail just forward of the wheel. This causes the rear axel to move freely forward and back. Furthe inspection by kia dealership shoed more components above the rear axel broken free. I filed a good will complaint with kia who responded with a big no regardin any help. Fortunatly this breakdown happened in a parking lot and no injuries happened but if this had happened on the highway it would have been a major accident with posible injuries or death if the vehicle rolled over . This was very good low maintenance low milage vehicle and we were hoping for a few more years of usage, now we are disapointed with kia that no notices of major rust issues were made avalable. Now what we have is a car that worthless and dosnt live up to the waranty limits.

2014 kia sorrento. Consumer writes in regards to the driver seat, accelerator and brake pedal issues. The consumer stated the very large seats were a problem for her, as they were hard to adjust. The distance between the driver's seat and the accelerator pedal, in the most forward and highest seat position, was so great, she was only able to engage the pedals with her toes. The consumer stated she could barely see the hood and couldn't see or distance the front of the vehicle. Therefore, she was forced to use both a manufacturer's vehicle seat cushion and a thick chair cushion underneath that, to be able to raise her body up and closer to the dash. Also, there was and continues to be a subtle, chirping, rhythmic sound coming from the driver's side front tire or wheel well. The service technician stated he did not hear a noise. The traction light illuminated. The consumer discovered the tires had no traction, as they did not grip the road properly. She was informed the tires were inferior, so she was forced to purchase 4 new winter tires at a cost of $ 657. 18. Updated 04/21/14.

On two different dates about a week apart we had two tpms failures. On the first one the tpms tire pressure monitor system sensor located in the passenger rear wheel cracked and was losing air. Tpms sensor was replaced. Around a week later while my wife was traveling at highway speed the passenger side front tpms sensor retaining cap fell off due to corroded threads and the sensor fell into the tire causing a high speed deflation. Dealer has not been notified of the second failure as we have an appointment in the next couple weeks. This vehicle has been dealer serviced since new and has all required service done.

While drive at slow speeds of about 5 to 10 mph there is a ticking/squeaking from the right front. It goes away at higher speeds. I have been in to the dealer 4 time, reported it to kia corp. And the regional office called to tell me they are aware of the noise, it is a part issue, that over 30% of this model made in 2013 have the problem and they are working on a solution. That was several days ago. If they know there is a problem then they should be made to recall the cars and replace the parts in question.

Wheel assembly appears to have completely given out. Vehicle traveling at ~35mph when it rose slightly then gave out. Vehicle hit side of parked car and flipped on to side and into retaining wall - full side curtain airbag deployment. Entire front passenger wheel well completely vacant. Everything laying on street including suspension springs. Witness to support events. Vehicle under 25k miles (2011 model, incident 2012). Vehicle totaled by insurance.

Vehicle is only 7 years old. Metal bracket welded to the rear axle that holds the upper control arms has completely failed! the normal torque from the rear axle has broken both brackets holding the upper control arm to the cars frame. All that is holding the rear axle in place is the lower control arms and the sway bars. There are no weep holes to allow water to drain out of the bracket weldment, causing water to fill the cup-like condition created. This condition has (an will) cause premature failure of all kia Sorento rear axle/upper control arm connections. While driving the rear axle could become detached from the vehicle due to excessive stress placed on the remaining parts. A typical traffic maneuver could cause a catastrophic failure, and render the vehicle uncontrolable, with the likelyness of massive pain, injury and death as a result!!! this is an extremely dangerous condition!!! these cars need to be recalled now before someone is killed!!! ps if you see a kia Sorento on the freeway. . . Stay away from it for your own safety!.

The panel assembly under cover is broken off easy and obstructing the wheels movement, can causes over turn or flip over.

Warp rotors on vehicle occurs every 3000 - 6000 miles of driving car. Consequence: car wheels vibrate heavily when attempting to stop vehicle part were turned and then replaced and problem continues to recur.

While driving down road, car was bearly pulling. Noticed smoke on front passenger side of car. Stopped and checked under hood and saw nothing. Walked around car and flames were coming out of wheel area. Had car towed. Had new caliper, rotor, and brake pads put on. Drove about a week. And began doing the same thing. Had car towed to mechanic shop, 4th day there the brakes went totally out. Car crashed through the door of shop and hit pole. Car in still at body shop some parts were hard to find. Still will have to get brakes fixed when I get car this week. I have been without my car since January 2013. This is March 27th 2013.
